Lavender Cottage
A quaint 3 bedroom heritage listed cottage only 300m from Cowes beach and boat ramp and an easy 150-200m stroll to the main Cowes shops in Thompson Avenue.
The Cottage is pet friendly. It has a beautifully relaxed, peaceful ambience and is listed on the Cowes West Historical Society's pamphlet walk.
The Cottage is close to local restaurants, supermarkets, shops, cafes, and the Cowes pier for fishing or a swim. Everything is so close, that you can leave your car at home and walk to all local amenities.
This quaint Cottage has 3 bedrooms and will comfortably sleep 4 adults and 2-3 children. The master and second bedroom have queen beds. The third bedroom has bunks plus an optional roll-out trundle bed. There is a deep old fashioned bath in the bathroom with a separate shower, toilet and heater. The Cottage has a reverse cycle air-conditioner and open fire-place to make living very comfortable at all times of the year. A TV, DVD, Video and CD stereo player, cupboard with numerous games make for good entertainment.
The kitchen is well equipped with electric stove and microwave. You may prefer to cook outdoors on the weber or barbeque with separate round burner. There is a laundry with washing machine and detergents supplied. This room has been used as a fourth bedroom..
Please note that guests will need to provide their own linen (pillowcases, top and bottom sheets & towels). Pillows and doonas are provided. Linen can be provided by the owner for a $100 fee.
A highlight of the property is the beautiful well established large garden with rows of perfumed lavender, roses, daisies and large well established old trees. It is a picture to the eye. Children and pets love the big lawns. A family favourite is enjoying breakfast, lunch and dinner on the sunny north facing front verandah. A patio heater is there for those chillier evenings. There are sea views from the verandah and front drive.
There is ample parking for a boat, caravan or 3 cars if required. The Cottage is well fenced and private. Pets are always welcome.
Phillip Island offers an abundance of wild life. There is the Penguin Parade, seal watching, Koala Reserve, bird watching at Swan Lake; migratory birds, with swans and wallabies near Conservation HIll. Cape Baron geese wander along the sides of the road and are plentiful near the historic cemetery. The local vineyards, markets, specialty shops, the Nobbies, Grand Prix track, boat trips, walking tracks, fishing spots, historical Churchill Island, and the memorial to George Bass' landing at Rhyll give visitors plenty to see and do.
Closer to Lavender Cottage, enjoy a short 300m stroll to the safe family swimming beach at Cowes, or fish from the pier. For the more energetic, it is an easy 10min. drive to the fantastic surf beaches of Woolamai and Smiths Beach. Lavender Cottage takes advantage of the quiet Bay beaches to the North and the spectacular Surf beaches to the South of the Island including some amazing scenery.
For sport lovers, enjoy a game of golf, croquet, indoor or outdoor bowls or tennis at local clubs in Cowes, or stay home and play a game of cricket with your family on the front lawns at Lavender Cottage.
If you have any special requirements, please let us know and we shall do our best to assist you with your personal needs. Extras include games, tea, coffee, sugar, cooking condiments, and lots of homely household extras like picnic basket, torch, fire wood at no extra cost.
The property is available on a nightly or weekly basis.
