Tucked away from the noise and busyness of everyday life, is a quiet ''Carriage House'' apartment located just a few miles outside the quaint little Village of Intercourse, PA. Many Lancaster County attractions are nearby: Kitchen Kettle, Strasburg Railroad, Dutch Wonderland, Amish Quilt Shops, Rockvale and Tanger Outlet Malls, Sight and Sound Millenium Theatre, Shady Maple Restaurant/Smorgasboard and other Restaurants with Amish Cooking, Buggy Rides, Hot Air Balloon Rides.

JUST updated in January of 2026, originally the Carriage House was an out-building which has been transformed into a charming apartment with spacious high ceilings and cozy decor. It includes a flat-screen TV/DVD, comfortable seating area, dining table and kitchenette (sink/refrigerator/oven/microwave/coffee maker.) A separate bedroom includes an additional TV and a soft-as-a-cloud down comforter.

The spacious yard features a large gazebo, perfect for picnics, and you are invited to stroll through perennial gardens bursting with color in the summer, or relax in the hammock. We own several chickens, and fresh eggs are available upon request.

Sometimes there are children playing outdoors or other family-related activities happening on the premises, but the Carriage House is in it's own space, and very private. There is accessible parking and easy access. It features large windows and a sunny quiet space to enjoy a vacation in this lovely part of the country.

I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking within the area. This property truly felt like a home for the time we spent in it, and was centrally located to all of the activities and attractions we wanted to visit. The Carriage House was an excellent choice for my husband I to enjoy all that we wanted to accomplish while spending time in Lancaster! It is located very close to all the areas to shop, restaurants, and entertainment venues. It displays a warm welcome upon entering, cozy, and clean. The kitchen area provided us all we needed and more during our stay. The host communicated well with all aspects of our stay. The Carriage House was a home away for home!

My husband and I and two young daughters live on the same property as the guest house. I (Tessa) grew up next door and after 15 years of living in Philadelphia, we bought this property from my parents. Growing up, my grandmother lived in the same house as we do! Her quilt shop is now the space that has been turned into this lovely guest suite.

Why they chose this property

I did not have plans to move back to Lancaster County from Philadelphia, but I met my now husband during 2020 while I was home caring for my sick grandma. I couldn't be more pleased to come back to my roots and start growing a family where I was raised.

What makes this property unique

The bustling little "tourist town" of Intercourse is located just a few minutes from our property, but while you are at the Carriage House, the world slows down, and you can simply enjoy a peaceful, rural spot in Lancaster County.
