Captains Quarter in Newboro Ontario in the Heart of the Rideau

Hi and Welcome to Newboro. We are in the heart of the historic Rideau canal system. Take a casual stroll to the Newboro Locks where you can swim or watch the boats go by! Funky town of Westport is a 5 minute drive, 15 minutes drive will take you to the historic town of Perth. Going the other directions, 40 minutes to Kingston Ontario. Loads of history will keep you busy throughout this area.
This cozy home may be small, but has everything you will need! Newly renovated home, boasting granite kitchen counter tops, to a stacked washer and drier for guests staying with us longer! Loads of parking for guest pulling trailers or multi vehicles.
Next Door We have the Original Historic LockMaster House, which has been moved to its now permanent home right next door! For guest travelling with larger groups this one bedroom home can also be rented, at an additional cost, (and guest can bring there pets to this home )!

Captains Quarters

The location of Captains Quarters is great!! It's pretty quiet at night despite being on a fairly busy road. The bedrooms, on the lower level, were comfortably cool, but the upstairs was quite warm during the day. Because of this, we didnt do any cooking during our stay, but the kitchen looked well equiped for those wanting to cook a meal.It was lovely to have the option of lots of outdoor, shaded seating to while away the hot afternoon hours.Overall a very nice stay and i would definitely go back!!

Captains quarters

Such cute, quaint, “cottagey” feel! We had multiple events it Ottawa (75 minutes away) but stayed in Newboro because we Jo the vibe of the Rideau Lakes area.We stayed at “The Original Lockmasters House”last year (right next door - also hosted by Paul & Dani) and loved it. This one’s a bit more spacious and even has laundry facilities.Communication was great and the host were really really nice.Definitely highly recommend this place

Totally Relaxing

It was exactly what I wanted. The property is very well kept and very clean. I was impressed with the Wi-Fi service. The directions were great and it was easy to find. Very comfortable.

Live like a local

Although not waterfront, this property was a great way to live like a local. We had plenty of room to park our boat trailer and vehicle. We could easily reach the boat launch area and restaurants. Paul was very easy to deal with although, partly due to Covid-19, we did not meet in person.

Above and beyond what was expected

Hi, I visit my brother in this area once per year. I was surprised and very happy to find a place within 10kms. of where he lives for an amazing price. The owners are very nice people and easy to communicate with. We were unable to stay due to a major problem with the house. I would rent from Paul and Dani again as the problem was not under their control, and not their fault. They were very apologetic and they refunded 100%. We had to find new accommodations which we did. I want to thank VRBO as well as they covered all extra costs. Anyway, thank you to Allie from VRBO and Dani & Paul for actually treating us as though we were their most important clients. Chris Margison and family.
