Stunning 8 bedroom en suite bath home with fine finishes built by Cheney Custom Homes. This luxury home is uniquely situated walking distance to the beach, fine dining, boutique shopping, and Nantucket's downtown historical sites. Gather as a group in the open living and dining area or by the pool. Enjoy evenings in the media and game rooms or by the fire pit. This property has ample room for your larger group to gather in comfort. It is a spectacular venue for a Nantucket family vacation, or to entertain friends with separate living spaces!

1st FLOOR:
The living room has a gas fireplace, TV, and window seats. There is seating for 12 at the dining table and 8 at the island. The kitchen is equipped with a Subzero, 2 dishwashers and a Wolf range, wall oven, and microwave. It has everything needed for the gourmet chef. There is Sonos sound for the patio, kitchen, dining and living areas, media room, and 4 King bedrooms. There is also a powder room and laundry room located on the 1st floor.

Friday check-in and check-out mid-June through August. Check-in days may be variable in the shoulder seasons.

BEDROOMS:
The 1st king bedroom is located off the north side of the mezzanine overlooking the pool and patio has a smart TV, Sonos sound system, and 2 walk-in closets. The attached bathroom has a heated floor, a custom shower with rain shower head, and a separate tub.

The 2nd king bedroom is located off the south side of the mezzanine overlooking the pool and patio. It has a smart TV, Sonos sound system, and 2 walk-in closets. The attached bathroom has a heated floor, a custom shower with rain shower head, and a separate tub.

The 3rd king bedroom is accessed by a private staircase off the back hall. It has a larger seating area with 2 comfy chairs, Sonos sound system, and 2 closets. The attached bathroom has a heated floor and custom shower.

The 4th king bedroom is located on the first floor and has window seats overlooking the pool, a smart TV, Sonos sound system, and 2 built-in closets. The attached bathroom has a heated floor and custom shower with rain shower head.

The 5th bedroom has 2 twin beds and is located off the west side of the mezzanine. It has an attached bathroom and a custom shower. If requested as a 5th king bedroom, these beds can be pushed together and prepared with king linens.

The 6th bedroom has built-in twin bunk beds and is located on the lower level. There is one natural daylight window and 2 closets. The attached bathroom has a custom shower.

The 7th bedroom has a queen bed and twin bunk and is located on the lower level. There are three natural daylight windows and 2 closets. There is an attached custom shower. The bathroom may be kept private to the bedroom or opened and accessible to game room.

The office, or 8th bedroom, is located on the 1st floor and has a queen Comfort Sleeper (high density foam) and a desk. There is a printer in the closet. The attached bath has a custom shower.

SECOND FLOOR:
The mezzanine seating area is open to the living room. There is a 2nd laundry room on the mezzanine level.

LOWER LEVEL:
The media room has a 78'' Smart TV, Sonos Sound system, wet bar, and natural daylight windows. The game room has a pool table. There is also a 3rd washer and dryer on the lower level.

OUTDOOR:
The patio has a heated pool, Paloform fire pit, outdoor dining table, gas grill, and 2 outdoor showers. The pool has a salt chlorination system, gentle on your health, a superior way to sanitize. Pool heat is provided during the summer months and some of the shoulder season. A warm water foot wash is located by each mudroom door.

There is off-street parking for 2 vehicles in the front driveway and 1 vehicle on the side drive.

MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY OF 18. We are unable to accommodate large events, parties, etc.

UV lights have been installed in the HVAC system to combat any possible fungi, bacteria, or virus.

First Class!

We had a "Whale of a Time" in this gorgeous Nantucket rental. We had 15 adults in the house and it was just perfect. The home was pristine and beautifully laid out. We never felt crowded. It was wonderful to meet the homeowner during the check in process. She was a fantastic communicator and resource for caterers, concierge services, restaurants, things to do, etc. I highly recommend this Nantucket rental!!!

Stunningly beautiful and incredibly comfortable

This house was so wonderful it made our vacation totally enjoyable. We were 18 people -- children of all ages to adults of all ages. This home perfectly accommodated us with beds to spare. Everyone had a lovely place to sleep -- most had a spacious classy private room with an elegant bathroom. Others slept together with super cool bunk beds. Plenty of room to gather. The house is equipped with everything and anything you could want. If you have a large group that enjoys being together -- yet having private time -- this is the house for you.

Perfection at Whale of a Time

Our stay at Whale of a Time was nothing but perfect. Caryn made the arrival process so easy and helped us to arrange for grocery delivery, chef, and housekeeping services all prior to our arrival. We had adults and kids of all ages in our party and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the home. The location of the home was great, walking distance into town and the beach. WE LOVED IT!!!

On a scale of one to five - Cliff Whale is a ten!! The property is beautiful and centrally located, but that wasn't the best part. The first best part is the accessibility of Caryn, who greeted us with flowers, a fruit basket, and a booklet that answered every possible question. If we did have a question, she never kept us waiting more than five minutes to reply about everything from where are the bandaids to how to work the can opener. The second best part is that there is nothing missing from this house - from Restoration Hardware linens that look like they've never been previously opened, to anything you might need in a well-stocked Williams Sanoma kitchen. All 17 of us would return tomorrow if we could.

Everything and More!

Whale of a Time on Cliff is more beautiful than the photos on the website! LOVED IT!!! The home has everything you need and it was more than comfortable for 16 people ~ we did not want to leave! The bedrooms were all very nice, top of the line furniture and decor. The house was very CLEAN, beautiful yard, patio and pool. The location is excellent, so close to the beaches and we were able to walk to town. The house is on the corner of the street but still very quiet!! The owner is very nice and very helpful. So many nice features and amenities. We cannot say anything negative about the house. We would definitely rent this home again ~ if and when we return to Nantucket!

Family celebration of 85th birthday

The 8 bedroom, 8.5 bath house was exactly as represented on the site. Beautiful architecture and layout, spacious and wonderfully decorated. Every amenity you could wish for was provided. Wonderful linens and towels, fully equipped kitchen, great heated pool and yard, comfortable furniture everywhere. Caryn the owner couldn’t have been more accommodating. She purchased some handicap items that helped to make my accommodations more accessible, answered every question promptly, returned deposit immediately. A real pleasure to do business with. The family loved every minute of a 5 day stay. Hardly left the house. All the college kids enjoyed the bunk rooms and entertainment area. Even the weather cooperated over a Memorial Day period! Suntans for all! Caryn recommended masseuses and a photographer. A memorable reunion!

We have had the most fabulous weekend in Nantucket. This home is remarkable and what’s more, embodies the discription, “home away from home”. Every detail was meticulously tended to, every need accounted for and beauty abounds in every square inch of this lovely home. The home was pristine clean and provides incredibly comfortable beds, linens and pillows for luxurious restful sleep. The kitchen was fully equipped for the most decerning gourmet. We could go on and on! We cannot wait for our next visit.

Location! Location!! Perfect in every way!

Great Location! This magnificent Nantucket home has it all! The location is outstanding. You can walk to the beach and to town. The interior is meticulous and is like staying at a five-star hotel. The kitchen and home layout are perfect for entertaining and vacationing, and with enough privacy for families and guests. There is plenty of room to bring your own cook and/or nanny, arrange for a private chef, or catering. The lower level is amazing. The owners are gracious, helpful, and responsive. They have thought of everything! Family and friends will enjoy the heated pool and the gas fire pit. Everyone will definitely have a "Whale of a Time!"

A Magnificent Family Home on Cliff Road!

My family just returned from a terrific week in Nantucket and the vacation was made even more enjoyable because of the house we stayed in. In addition to my wife and I, also staying at the house were 2 of our married children (with spouses), 4 grandchildren under the age of 7, 2 nannies and my son-in-law's parents and the 8 bedroom, 8-1/2 bath house was more than spacious enough for all of us. The house is beautifully furnished (which the slide shows illustrates) and fully (actually more than fully) appointed (which the slide show cannot possibly portray). For our family, there was everything one could want - from cooking utensils to appliances, place settings ranging from plasticware for the kids to beautiful china. There were games for the family, books for the kids, pool toys, beach chairs, pool/beach towels aplenty - everything one would want for a stay on the island. In addition to the condition and ideal location of the house, the owner (Caryn) is an incredibly thoughtful hostess. When I called her to let her know that we found 2 bags of Scrabble tiles but no Scrabble Board, and wondered if they were kept elsewhere, her response was to provide 2 new Scrabble games and a Scrabble Junior game at our doorstep within an hour. When she saw our young grandchildren, Caryn, without saying anything, sent us 2 step stools, via Amazon, so they could more easily reach the bathroom sinks. Throughout our stay, she texted me, asking if there was anything else we needed and wanted to make sure all was good. I don't know where anyone could find a better combination of beautiful accommodations and thoughtful hostess than this property. As you can tell, I recommend this property as highly as I can.

Nantucket Bliss - Whale of a Time

This is an incredibly well thought out house and the owners really care about your comfort. We have traveled extensively and stayed in some very nice properties across the world and this is one of the best weeks we have ever had. It is close enough to town and the beach that you can walk and that makes it very convenient. But the house itself is beyond reproach. Every little detail has been considered by the owners and they have obviously equipped it to make their guests comfortable. From buckets and shovels for the kids at the beach to high quality home appliances, they have anticipated every need and have equipped the house accordingly. The pictures depict this house exactly as it is, there are no surprises and it is like a new home. If cleanliness is an issue for you, this is your place; the condition of this house upon our arrival was pristine and the fresh flowers on the table were an unnecessary but greatly appreciated bonus. The beds and linens are all first class in comfort and the house is equipped with towels for the bathrooms but also for the beach and pool. The pool is heated and comes with plenty of toys and recliners to entertain every need. Our extended family stayed here with six adult couples each handling a dinner. The kitchen is extremely well-equipped for most cooks including the two gourmet cooks that we had with us. And the two dishwashers facilitated our home eating habits. Grilling? The house has a huge Weber grille and plenty of seating in the pool area or sit and relax around the fire pit and enjoy a cocktail. Downstairs there is a great bunk setup for the kids and a media room and pool table for them to enjoy. We spent some time at the beach and the chairs, boogie boards and other beach equipment (including beach carts) provided by the owners was very helpful in making our stay easy. Each bedroom comes with it's own bathroom and they are all furnished with soap, shampoo, conditioner and other bathroom "goodies" like a first class hotel. Everyone in our family was talking about how nice this home was and what a great stay we had at "Whale of a Time" in nantucket. Try it, you will not be disappointed, it is well worth the price!

Better than a luxury hotel!

We stayed at the Cliff property this August with our family and friends. From the moment we arrived we were pleasantly surprised by the number and quality of amenities. Walkable from the docks but located away from the hustle and bustle of downtown, the owners have thought of EVERYTHING! Beautifully appointed, the space is maximized to accommodate a number of guests comfortably - the kids especially enjoyed the two bunk rooms and media room downstairs. The kitchen was stocked with every staple you'd need to make a gourmet dinner. The beds were comfortable with lovely linens. Although we didn't have the best weather, we spent countless hours in the pool completely relaxed, soaking in the well manicured surroundings. Well worth every penny.
