Amazing Ocean Living, private pool, private beach

Beautiful 2 bedroom with, 2 full baths house PLUS a 1 bed studio with private full bath. The main house can accommodate up to 6 adults. Both house and studio have living, dining and kitchen, all with ocean views and doors that open onto a private marble patio. Private pool overlooking the bay. High ceilings, open floor plan, fans and AC in each room. The studio or "surf casita" that sleeps up to 4 is located just behind the main house and also has a view of the bay. It can be rented by itself or included as part of the Casa Gaviota rental. Pricing on the VRBO site is for just the house. If you want to add the Casita to the main house, the price is an additional $125/night. If you want to rent the Casita by itself, the price is 50% of the price of the main house/night.

100m to Punta Burro beach - an easy walk across a quiet cobble stone street. Nice surf break, beautiful sandy beach. house keeping included.

Amazing spot!

We really loved our week at Casa Gaviota! Pool was great and access to the beach was super quick. The house was really comfortable and felt like an oasis for our family.

Perfection

Beautiful home in a beautiful location. The pool and patio overlooking the bay is mesmerizing. We saw many whales from the house. Appreciated all the surf and beach gear that the owners provide for the guests. Look forward to returning.

Beautiful Beach, Great Hosts

Punta Burro is lovely - a nice quiet, safe beach that is great for swimming, paddle boarding or, stay on shore and have a long walk. The Gardner/Leach home was cozy and the hosts are wonderful. Couldn't recommend it more!

Great spot

Our family enjoyed this spot and Ryland was a great host. The beach was not as great for kids (ages 2 and 4) due to the beach break but Ryland directed us to a nearby softer break and that worked out.

Great Beach Vacation

Great times for adults and kids. If you're not looking for the hotel experience and want to get out a little more, this is a good option. Surf is not epic in summer, better for longboards, but at least there's something you can walk to - and 85 degree water is real nice. Ryland, Tim, etc are good guys and very easy to deal with.

Paradise in Punta de Mita

My partner and I and our little dog absolutely loved staying at Casa Gaviota. The house was large, clean, well stocked, and beautiful. We truly enjoyed relaxing in and around the saltwater infinity pool, and the beach was only a short walk away. The owner welcomed us, gave us a tour, and was super responsive throughout our stay. The beaches in Punta de Mita, Sayulita, and San Pancho were all easy drives. Had some issues with ants, but even with that would still stay again!

Spectacular

Spectacular house in lovely location. Sparkling pool, big bedrooms with comfortable beds, big windows with amazing views, great kitchen, well stocked with equipment for cooking. Lots of beach gear. Beautiful beach, empty and private. Ryland and Shari are perfect hosts. Rosy is a great cook. Will definitely be back!

Epic Tejas Chicas Surf Trip

This was a girls surf trip for us & we couldn’t have been happier with the location! We were a group of 6 with plenty of space in the main house and the casita. The pool overlooks to the beach which was a pleasure to have for after surf swim or watching the sunset. The sound of the ocean right outside was very relaxing. The windows/exterior doors all have screens on them which was nice for natural air flow throughout the house without needing the ac’s. Ryland & Shari were amazing hosts in opening up their home for us to enjoy. They had some snacks and drinks ready for us, to get through the evening when we arrived, making it easy to grab a quick bite and check everything out. We will definitely be returning! Thanks again Ryland & Shari!!

So good!!!!

Ryland and Shari were incredible hosts; not only were they a pleasure to spend time with, they have truly arranged an experience that can’t be beat. We wanted for nothing our entire visit. They have provided all that one could need, and then some. The location is beautiful and charming, the surf is steps away, and the pool and outdoor paths and garden are well maintained, comfortable, and stunning. We hope to return to this gem, and share it with more folks. We were a group of six: two couples with the two kids. We chose to rent the casita as well, to give the kids their own space, but we could’ve made it work with all of us in the main house too. Omar and Roci were such a delight, and a pretty big part of our experience. They come three times a week to clean and take care of the grounds, and Omar was such a sweetheart with our young Spanish speaking daughter. She’d chat with him the entire time he worked and he was so good with her. Roci’s cooking is fenomenal, and truly our only regret was not having her prepare more meals for us. It was delicious and affordable—an absolute must! The beach just down the path is lovely for walking and surf, but it isn’t ideal for swimming as the reef reaches the water’s edge. Fortunately Ryland shared another location that was perfect for swimming with the kids, just two kilometers down the road. I hope you have a chance to enjoy La Casa Gaviota and the small community that comes with it!

Gorgeous, private, excellent beach access and location

We had a fantastic week here and I would definitely visit again. The house is perched above the ocean, giving excellent privacy, but is close enough to hear the waves through the night as if you are beach front. The beach feels private and is great for surfing and SUPing. And for simple walking and playing. I awoke early every morning to have coffee by the pool and felt as if in the middle of a bird estuary. Our group celebrated and visited with each other by the pool each day and evening. We took surf lessons nearby and visited several nearby towns -- La Cruz, Punta de Mita, Sayulita. All are relatively close. We rented a car but also took taxis, which was easy. Ryland and Shari are fantastic -- fun to talk to, available if needed, but stay away so you have privacy. I recommend renting the casita as well if you need the additional space. We also hired their cook for two meals, which were fabulous and brought in massage therapists for a relaxing afternoon of massage for everyone in our group. You can drink the water and no one from our group got sick. They have hats and snorkel gear and water shoes and boards -- also some suntan lotion and lots of condiments and cooking oils. The place feels very safe. I highly recommend!!

Stunning views with amazing access to beach

We absolutely loved our stay at the property. The views were stunning both during the day and in the evening. You can see for Miles and the stars were amazing at night. There was a power outage but our owners and property management were quick to respond and to fix things out of their control. We love swimming in the pool and making breakfast to sit on the patio. Definitely recommend renting a car as there is no restaurants close. We did get to go to the W hotel and enjoy a cocktail and some food on the beach. We also took a drive to Punta Mita. But if you go to the store before hand to be well-stocked or you can stay here in paradise. We came here for a friends wedding that was at secrets and we were able to walk to and from easily. Albeit on the hot days we melted a bit in the heat. Definitely would be interested in coming back. Absolutely stunning!

Amazing view, beautiful beach, and easy access to towns!

A very peaceful location in a beautiful and quiet gated neighborhood. We visited the town of Punta de mita often for dinner. Explored San Pancho and Sayulita during our stay but always enjoyed coming back to our spot. Punta Burros surf break is about a 5min walk down the beach which we visited daily. Great spot if you’re into surfing. Rosi cooked us dinner twice and we enjoyed everything she made. Ryland and Shari were very helpful with our ever changing needs.

Great property, Ryland is a huge help for anything you would need, Rosi- housekeeper and cook- makes the most incredible flan you will ever have. Quick walk to the beach.

A Sweet Slice of Paradise!

Casa Gaviota worked great for our group! We used both the main house and surf casita. Shari and Ryland were friendly, gave us our privacy, and accessible if we needed them. Relaxing in the the pool and enjoying the shimmering ocean view was such a treat. Highly recommend!

Absolutely lovely

If I could give 10 stars to this place I would. The house is beautiful and well stocked with a perfect pool overlooking the ocean. It is also literally steps from a stunning beach, so if you're looking to be unambitious and just truly relax- this is the spot. Shari is the best host as in she stays out of your way but it is totally available when you need her for anything. We all loved it and will be coming back for sure!!

Magnificent

Exceptional view's in beautiful colorful landscaped surroundings. Accommodations exceptional . Dips in the endless pool and short walk to the amazing beach. We cooked several meals in the well stocked kitchen. Make sure Rosie prepares a meal for you. Fresh and authentic. Her Molé fantastic and flan for dessert what a treat. Umbrellas beach chairs masks and snorkels boogie boards and paddle boards supplied by host. Myself and my two older sons had a fantastic time. A Majestic and serene experience. I highly recommend this beautiful place. Many thanks to Sheri or host Who helped guide us on this adventure.

FABULOUS Beach House & Compound

This property is really amazing and I recommend it to others wholeheartedly. It's a beautiful, well-maintained and well-equipped house with a fantastic outdoor living/dining/pool set-up. The view of the Bay is staggering -- we saw whales nearly every time we looked out over the ocean, set against the backdrop of mountains. The beach is a 30-second walk away down an easy footpath, and it feels like nearly a private beach, only being used by the residents of the small number of other high-end homes in this area. The neighborhood is beautiful and feels completely safe (with gated access), but it's just a short drive to the restaurants and activities of either Punta Mita or La Cruz. There are SUP boards and all kinds of beach equipment provided, and in all other ways too, Ryland and Shari were outstanding and super-helpful hosts. Do not hesitate -- take a vacation at this place!

Ryland and Shari are most recently from Boulder, Colorado. They chose to move to Punta Burros, Mexico after many visits to the area. Ryland is available to help with surf board rentals, wave reports and SUP lessons. Shari will help with any Spanish translation needs, and will share suggestions for local adventures. Long time Wilderness Medicine Instructors and volunteer fire fighters, you're in good hands with this owner team who live nearby and are readily available if needed.

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with Punta Burros for it’s amazing views, easy access, privacy and security, and incredible landscape. Casa Gaviota overlooks the Bahia de Banderas, with the night lights of Puerto Vallarta gleaming in the distance to the east. The Marieta islands can be seen to the west, and the mountains across the bay are stunning as well.

It’s an easy drive from the Puerto Vallarta airport to Punta Burros, about 40 min.

The neighborhood is staffed with a 24 hour guard and gate access, and doors can be left unlocked without concern. Secure parking onsite is included, as well as surf board/ SUP storage. Flowers and palm trees abound. Come join us in paradise.
