My family really enjoyed our cozy cottage stay. Mittagong is a great base to enjoy majestic drives in the region. We even went down to Canberra to explore the National Gallery.
A fantastic place to stay with wonderful facilities. It was very clean and warm. We had a great stay with our children and will be back again. A great place and just what we’ve been looking for.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this gorgeous cottage. Close to shops, restaurants, very clean and comfortable, and Deb was very accommodating to our needs.
Perfect spot right near shops and cafes, house was clean and very cute the owner was helpful. It had everything we needed and wanted . My only issue is when staying in the middle of winter. The info folder says to turn the central heating off at night, we didn’t because it got down to 1 degrees Celsius that night, the main bedroom has the bed positioned directly next to the ducted air conditioning vent which made it impossible to sleep for the people in that room . The next night we turned it off and everyone woke up at 3 am freezing cold. I’d stay again for sure but maybe when the weather is not so extreme.
A lovely cottage in the heart of town, close to shops and transport.
The cottage is very well furnished with period items and comfy beds, a lovely kitchen fully equipped , and a tidy yard for those with pets.
Overall a really nice place to stay .,

The place is a period home, but it is very comfortable. Easy walk to the facilities of Mittagong, restaurants, cafes etc. also close to nice wineries in the southern highlands, Bowral and Berrima.

Liked: Check-in, location, listing accuracy
Ok but not great
Good location, near the centre of town but there was a lot of road noise. Lovely old style cottage with a lot of character but a little under invested and not super clean. Slight misrepresentation of the listing noting to contact host on arrival for wifi details. When we did this, we were advised of no wifi. Not ideal with overseas visitors with all devices hotspotting from my phone for 5 days. Overall a nice visit but wouldn’t book again.
Lovely property for what we needed, owner was easily contactable and wonderful about us bringing our baby and small dog. Gorgeous historic home with all amenities
Lovely property. We did inadvertently lock ourselves out, as there isn't a key to the security screen door and couldn't get any of the keys to unlock the backdoor.
Lovingly restored historical home that is conveniently located, clean with a well equipped kitchen, fabulous bath and enclosed backyard (great for our dachshund who was in tow also). Booking and access process great with excellent communication. Special mention to kind owner who kindly rescued us from an inadvertent access dilemma mid stay! Highlly recommend and will be keen to stay again.

About the host

I currently live in Mittagong not far from this cottage & enjoy the area after growing up here then spending most of my life away, its a privilege to be able to live here once again & share it with everyone
Why they chose this property
This gorgeous cottage was purchased for its charm & after being a home for some time I completed a serious renovation/refurbishment program. Afterwards I decided it was a perfect property to share with others & decided to offer it to travelling guests so they could experience the history of this special home. Once a bookmakers shop/residence in the 1880's built from local sandstone.
What makes this property unique
Made of local materials & built by a local bookmaker in the 1880's. Located on a quiet street within the town centre. This is one of a few local home of this vintage & provides colour to the historic town
