Very spacious and beautiful place in a quiet lovely location. There is ample space and would be great to have a pool table or few more entertaining items/games
Wonderful big house to accommodate multiple families and the kids had a blast. Only downside was it got super cold on our last night and the heaters weren’t working in the living areas. Would definitely rent again when we have family visiting.
The property was everything promised. Very clean comfy and quality throughout including provisions such as tea and coffee.we were unfamiliar with security systems so set that off at start but soon managed it. We enjoyed the peace and quiet and wildlife. We had a wide range of ages from a toddler to 82. We all loved it. It was a weekend to remember. Many thanks Peter and Janet.
A great house in a beautiful part of the world for a group event. Plenty of room and no duff bedrooms unlike other large houses. A group of us stayed for a 50th birthday and had a fantastic weekend. We had a slight issue with the heating that Peter sorted efficiently once identified. One suggestion - real wine glasses would be appreciated rather than plastic. On the whole, a fantastic place for a large group wanting to stay together!
House had plenty of room for our group and was well equipped for our needs. Two fridges and two dishwashers were great bonus as well as pantry space. House was warm and heaters in room allowed us to be warm all night. Position from town and all facilities were good. Hosts were easy to deal with. Our group really enjoyed our stay and would recommend the property to anyone needing a house that can cater for a large group or a number of families wanting somewhere to stay in Hepburn Springs. Thank you to Peter and Janet for a great getaway.
Maintenance issues: faulty toilet flush in one bathroom/ light globe fail in one bedroom/tv video not working - batteries need replacing(we left notes detailing these issues)Items not supplied: box of matches to light fire/ spare garbage bag for kitchen waste bin - 1 bag not enough for 4 nights
Fantastic location and great option for larger groups. We had a 90th birthday to celebrate with 4 families so this was a good option for us. Kids loved seeing the roos in the morning around the property and it is close enough to Daylesford that allowed for many trips into town for the older crew. Hosts were also very flexible so on that basis, 5 stars would have been appropriate. But … it was the small things that were lacking so hence 4 is what we rated this property. Fortunately all easy to rectify. Soap dispensers in bathrooms were almost empty, fireplace was full of ashes from previous guests, and no coffee machine (we have stayed in plenty of other places at a lower cost that provide a Nespresso machine or similar). These are obviously first world problems but we all felt it was worth noting.
The property was everything we hoped it would be. Plenty of room for separate family time. We had the fire going slowly all weekend along with the central heating and bedroom panels and the place was very cosy.
The Hive was the perfect location for our family get together with plenty of communal spaces for sharing time and tucked away spots for quiet time too! The trampoline on the back decking was a hit with everyone and the well-equipped kitchen made meal preparation flow easily. Thanks Peter and Janet for your clear communication and for being easily contactable.
Hive is one of the best places we’ve visited! It’s a perfect spot for a group of families — spacious, well-located, and thoughtfully designed. The house was very clean, beautifully maintained, and had plenty of areas for everyone to relax and enjoy. Highly recommended for a comfortable and memorable stay.
Great for a big group, both kids and adults had a great time during the stay. Trampoline was a big hit, and fireplace in the evenings after the kids went to bed. Plenty of room for all.
