Sutherland cottage - vineyard getaway

Sutherland cottage is one of five cottages at Glen Ayr Cottages, situated in the heart of Pokolbin vineyards, five minutes' drive from Hunter Gardens, concert venues, and many wineries. Sutherland is a comfortable two-bedroom cottage with a queen bed and twin single beds; the bedrooms are en-suite. It has a large living and kitchen area with an open fire and air-conditioning. The kitchen is fully equipped, and all linen is provided.

The cottage is kept meticulously clean by our long-term housekeeper, who uses alcohol-based cleaning agents.

Sutherland cottage is an hour and forty-five minutes' drive from the beginning of the M1 Motorway (Pacific Highway) at Wahroonga, and an hour from the centre of Newcastle. Despite being within five minutes' drive of many large wineries, it is quiet and secluded. It has views of neighbouring Audrey Wilkinson's vineyard from its verandah. Nearby attractions include wine tasting, fine restaurants, galleries, horse riding, hot air ballooning, bushwalking, golfing and sky diving.

There is also a great variety of birds and other wildlife in the surrounding area, including kangaroos and frill-necked lizards; kangaroos often graze in front of the cottage.

Sutherland is comfortable and clean.

We charge per guest. A minimum of two guests is required for weekend bookings.

If you wish to make a booking, we ask for a twenty percent deposit.

Stunningly secluded

If you're looking for a quiet and cosy place to stay in the Hunter, the Glen Ayr cottages are perfect! Sutherland cottage has a beautiful view, amenities were clean and comfortable and it truly felt like home away from home. Will most definitely be coming back. Thanks to Bill for his hospitality.

Great Location and Wonderful Cabin

My wife and I stayed at the Sutherland Cottage for 2 nights. William made check-in easy and made sure there was plenty of firewood and a fire ready to go. We loved sitting on the verandah with a cuppa or having breakfast in the sun watching the birds and overlooking the Audrey Wilkinson vineyard next door. The cabin was secluded from others on the property and close to restaurants and wineries. Would definitely stay again.

We loved our time in Pokolbin. Our host even had the fire all ready for us just to light and had supplied tea and coffee and milk. For me it's the little things I appreciate. We enjoyed our cuppas on the verandah and the quietness of the place and watching the footy on the tele in front of the fire. We will definitely stay there again.

Brilliant Communication with Manager ..Directions txted best ever .

Hand written welcome note left on the table really nice touch ! We didn't need it but for next time ,the prepared open Fireplace and wood and Kindling provided makes us want to come back and enjoy a game of cards at the end of the day !!?? Only there from 2 pm .shuttle bus to Hope Estate was at 3.15 ..back at 11.30 after concert and in a wonderfully comfortable bed at 12.15..But 2 ensuites and a Beautifull outlook ..so quiet ..AND Kangaroos !!! WE WILL BE BACK !!! It was just what we needed Will reckomend to all our friends and I will give the place a HUGE Rap on my National Radio Show !! Luke Bona Triple M

Good cottage, private, good view and has everything you need. But we did not sleep well at night. The fly screen door at the front door is broken. It is not able to close properly. The door has been blown by the wind the whole night making pretty bad noises.
