This large, 5-bedroom beach cottage is located just steps to the ocean and very close to all of the Great Corolla Light amenities and the Corolla Light shopping center. No need for a car - you can bike or walk to everything that you would want to do on vacation. Having your own private pool and hot tub finishes the Resort Living atmosphere. With a very spacious Great Room, Mid-Level Den and expansive decks, your whole family will love this house!

Top Level: Very open and bright Great Room with lots of sliding doors and windows to enjoy ocean views. Kitchen w/ breakfast bar (3), Dining areas w/ 2 tables (4) & (8), Living room w/ plenty of seating, flat screen TV/DVD/Stereo. Powder Room. King MBR w/ TV, deck access.

If the property is able to be re-rented, but at a discounted rate from what was paid, you will be refunded your rental payment, less the difference in the rental rate and the $150 cancellation fee. Great house for family beach vacation

Location is fantastic! The beach is a very easy 2 minute walk. If you are using a beach wagon be aware there are steps from the walkway down to the beach. In walking distance is a great bakery, arcade, mini golf, restaurants & more. The house is lovely with lots of comfy places to relax and tons of room to spread out. The pool and hot tub are wonderful! Definitely had a great stay and would highly recommend!

Property was in a great location. Easy walk to beach. I wish it would have been better advertised about the amenities that came with this property. Most amenities were not available because of out of season.

Tried to find something we didn’t like but couldn’t. Rooms and beds were great even the bunk room. View of the ocean was beautiful from the top deck. The upper level space was perfect to fit out entire family for game night. And….. wak to the beach was so easy! Great stay, would definitely choose the house again.

Great place for a family vacation. Plenty of room, good location and nice hot tub. Pool was a bit small and kitchen supplies need to be updated. Kitchen also needs a 'deep clean'. Would definately rent again. The positive way outweigh the negatives

Property was very clean! The beds aren't too comfortable, I would suggest bringing an egg crate or something to put on top of the mattress. The ice maker in the frig does not work so definitely be prepared to buy ice everyday. As far the location, cleanliness, area, it was absolutely amazing. We will definitely be back.

Corolla Light August Family Vacation

House was great. The only drawback was that there wasn't enough pots/pans/frying pans. We like to cook every night and the shortage of pots was challenging. Other then that it was great, nice pool and plenty of deck space. Short walk to the beach.

Great house!

We were very pleased with our stay at Tidebreaker! It was very clean upon arrival, exactly as depicted online, and had a kitchen full of dishes, utensils, pots and pans. Leslie’s made our stay very smooth with an easy check in and out process. They even had our house ready for us early on Saturday. The house is in a GREAT location! Very close to the beach (2 min walk), close to a Harris Teeter grocery store, Duck Donuts, shops and food. We walked to get pizza, ice cream, and to the playground often. I had to call about pool jets and water and they were so friendly and came right away. The house has 3 levels of decks (the pool on the ground level) with many varieties of outdoor seating. Everyone loved the house and we would love to stay here again! Thanks for having us!!!

Disappointing

The kitchen is not equipped for a property sleeping up to 13 people. No venting for cooking surfaces or smoke alarm near. While a relatively short walk to beach, the online picture gives the impression of better ocean views. There were no dish towels. There was no broom in the house. The stair climb to third floor master is not amenable for older people.

We are so sorry that this guest was disappointed in their stay at this wonderful beach house! I'm not sure what additional items the guest needed in the kitchen, but we try to always make sure that it is well stocked and would have gladly delivered any missing items. There is a window that can be opened that is right behind the stove. We brought dish towels to the house and would have gladly also delivered a broom. I think sometimes the cleaners accidentally take the house brooms and for a house that is a few rows back from the ocean, we think that it has very good views.

Nice location

Location and adequate space in the home was nice. I reported hot tub leaked bad underneath when jets were turned on. Maintenance said it was a small hole and nothing to worry about. The jets were messed up and it made a couple of us sick. Once we figured out what was making us sick, we stopped going in the hot tub and we’re fine. Half the jets didn’t work and the neck jet didn’t work. Didn’t like seeing mold on bottom of shower curtain in smaller master bedroom. Smaller master bedroom bedroom door wouldn’t close all the way and lock. Other then that, it was fine to stay in.

We were sorry to hear of any problems this guest experienced during their stay and made sure all was correct on turn-over for the next guests. On inspection, the diverter valve was found to have been turned to just service half of the hot tub. It was returned to the middle position on turn-over to provide jets for the entire tub. Chemicals were tested and all were found to be at proper levels and working order. Bedroom door knob was replaced on turn-over as well. We look forward to welcoming our next guests to this great beach house!

Summer vacay

One of the best places we have stayed at in the OBX, and we have rented many. Excellent location, beach was nice, pool was awesome, comfortable furnishings, overall a great place to stay, would rent it again.

Spacious house, well appointed, great location.

We are a family of four, my wife and I live in Houston, TX, our son and wife in Berkeley Heights, NJ and our daughter in Austin, TX. We wanted to get together in the Outer Banks where we had been vacationing for over 14 years when we all lived in NJ. We all loved the house and it’s amenities. The swimming pool was great and the hot tub provided plenty of late night cozy conversations. The beach is just a few steps away and the whole complex is carefully maintained. It really made for a wonderful time together; so much so that we made a commitment to return every year! I highly recommend this particular property. Go, you’ll have a great time!

Wonderful beach house!

A wonderful beach house, complete with backyard pool, and a short walk to the beach and the resort's amenities. An indoor pool and gym are a short drive away - walkable if not too hot. The house is painted in bright "beach" colors, the kitchen is well equipped, and the outside decks are perfect for relaxing, especially as the day cools off!

Great time had by all!!!

Great communication- beautiful home- the pictures do not do justice! It appears as though owners are upgrading the home and it is beautiful, comfortable and convenient. Beds were comfy and doors were thick so noise didn’t permeate. Our group had a great time... The one bummer was that second floor decking did not have a gate (open access to walking path) and the seating near the hot tub did not have railings (we had a puppy with us and so this was worrisome). That’s small little item- not a big deal- but to be aware of it. Would have liked more plastic wear so Kids could eat at pool deck We hope to make it back next year!!

Wonderful location! Pool outside the door, a short walk to the beach, close to the resort amenities!

This property is just what you'd want in a beach vacation! The pool is perfect for the kids, the beautiful beach is a 2 minute walk away, the resort amenities (including indoor and outdoor pools, playground, basketball court, tennis courts, etc) are close by, and there are shops, restaurants, mini-golf, etc a short walk away too! The house is very comfortable for 8-12 people. The kitchen is well equipped, but if you need a special knife or other utensil, bring it with you. The beds are comfortable as are the shared living areas. There's lots of space to spread out, so with our 8 we didn't feel on top of each other. Loved the deck areas for relaxing in the evenings watching the stars come out. Would have enjoyed a table on the top deck for outdoor eating. The interior could use a bit of repainting in some areas, but overall it was fine. And mats at each entrance would have been handy to help control sand coming into the house. We just left our shoes on the first landing area. The week flew by with lots to do! Would definitely consider coming back to this house in this beautiful area!

We really liked this house. It was so close to the beach using the path behind the house. We went the first week of April so not that warm yet but still great. It was snowing in Michigan so better than that:) The kids went in the pool anyway on warm days and we all loved the hot tub. Also, I was worried the house would smell like pets because we have some that are allergic but it didn’t. The house was VERY clean when we arrived. We used the indoor pool and the outdoor park with basketball and shuffle board were all great and very clean and family friendly. Someone actually came and brought our garbage cans out for us on garbage day and then put them back under for us after:) Only gave 4 stars because: no railings on top bunk beds for kids so we couldn’t use, fridge needed to be pushed shut to stay shut and many screen doors hard to push open and freezer leaked out the bottom a little. Nothing that was really a big deal to us but if I was paying the top dollar prime season weeks I may have been more annoyed. Great place and would use again.

Lots of potential...

We personally enjoyed our stay and were comfortable throughout the week. We loved the open space and the layout was accommodating for our 3 families that shared the house. The kitchen was well stocked and all appliances were in good working order. The pool and hot tub were also a nice bonus. The house is in a great location and is just a short walk to the beach. It's also worth mentioning there are at least 6 beach chairs for guests to use. The resort as a whole is very nice and has many amenities. At this point, though, the house needs updated to really fit the feel of the neighborhood. The best way to describe it is a 3-star house in a 5-star neighborhood. It has lots of potential and it appears that efforts are being made to spruce it up a bit. The only major complaint is the traffic situation to get to Corolla, which came as a big surprise! We tried to enter the area around noon and traffic was already bumper to bumper and at a standstill. This was from Southern Shores through Duck, but then it opens back up as you approach Corolla. This added hours to our travel time.
