The cottage was perfect for our daughter's parent's weekend college visit. Close to downtown Milledgeville and very pet friendly for our small pup. Lots of interesting history in the house itself and in the surrounding area.
The house is on an interesting property related to the former psychiatric hospital. It made for a good walk to start the day. The house has plenty of space and is central to Milledgeville. My only recommendation would be to add a larger pot for cooking on the stove.
If you like history, relaxation, quietness and serenity, this is the place to be at. Unique historic area. Spacious with everything that you need for small or large groups.
We selected this property to be close to the Georgia State College & University campus for our daughter's graduation. It was perfect for our needs. We were able to bring our dog and he had an enclosed area in the back to run around. Very cool history being on the campus of the old asylum! We knew this is an old house and came with the expectations of an old house. The beds were comfortable with an added foam mattress topper. Air conditioner worked great. We enjoyed sitting out on the screened in porch appreciating the quiet. Overall, it was a great stay and we would definitely book again.
We absolutely loved our stay at this property. The location was perfect—on the grounds of Central State Hospital, which was the purpose of our visit. The property was spacious, clean, well stocked, convenient to the campus, and the property owner was quick in his responses every time I reached out to him. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
This home was very clean and the hosts were very accommodating. Well-appointed and equipped home and kitchen. I enjoyed the added historic information about the area.
We enjoyed out stay. The house and the grounds are very interesting. About 10 minutes from downtown Milledgeville. House was comfortable and clean. Interesting history.
Myself and another travel nurse were looking for a nice quiet place to rent while on assignment in Milledgeville and this property was perfect. Nice quiet neighborhood. The history surrounding us was definitely an added bonus. The property owner was amazing and very responsive. If I am ever back in the area I will definitely try to stay here again!
This property is vintage and quaint. It is interesting how the host has chosen to appoint the home with references to the asylum's history. The kitchen is well appointed and the towels and toiletries were a nice touch. The location is convenient to the rest of Milledgeville. For the price, the property is just fine and will get the job done if you need a place to stay. However, there is a fine line between "vintage" and "run down." This property is in danger of crossing that line. The couches need replacing, the beds are incredibly creaky and uncomfortable, the bed linens are polyester and cheap--these are all immediately fixable. More significant are the state of the upstairs shower, the doorknobs that fall off in your hand, and the upstairs doors that only close with a latch. One bedroom ceiling fan is unusable as it makes a horrofic axe sharpening sound at any speed. While we were there, termites swarmed out of the back wall of the kitchen, covering the window sills and floor with their discarded wings. Not appetizing. The place needs some upgrades and upkeep, but overall the home is lovely, and the site is intriguing.
My daughter and I wanted to stay close to Central State Hospital (which was our main focus) and town. This clean and cozy cottage was perfect for our trip. It is not a new modern home, but it’s original charm was kept in tact. As we did not want to stay in a typical hotel room, this home had plenty of room. The kitchen had all we needed to cook meals. The tv had a wide variety of streaming channels and worked great. The beds were very comfortable also. We would stay here again if in the area.
Felt like stepping into a past time zone for my brain and soul but totally comfortable and felt like home for my body! The large screened in porch is such an added bonus to the pleasure of sitting and relaxing! Every bed is extremely comfortable!

It’s just ok
Property is pretty out dated. Well
Water which has a funny smell of sulfur in shower and sink. Also, the house is located in a pretty isolated area next to an abandoned insane asylum. Pretty creepy. Would be good for Halloween maybe
