Great, private villa in a beautiful part of Crete. Communication from host (especially Evelina) was excellent throughout and the villa had regular maid cleans throughout our stay.

Villa Evelina

We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Evelina. The villa provided a lovely base for our holiday where we could relax. A short walk down to beach provided access to restaurants and bars, a particular favourite being the Indigo Seaside Experience. We hire cars and explored further afield. A short drive/taxi ride to Rethymno is well worth it with a selection of restaurants, narrow streets with shops, the harbour and other picturesque sights.

Peaceful destination

Evelina was at the property to give us a very warm welcome when we arrived. Fresh fruit on the table and a bottle of wine in the fridge too. Overall our stay was very enjoyable, in a peaceful environment, surrounded by trees and greenery, with views of the sea and mountains. The house was on a semi-made-up road; reasonably furnished and exceptionally clean, although better maintenance is needed to make it really tip top. The property layout wasn't easy to work out from pictures and description: 3 levels inside - a stairway led down from living level to lower level where 2 beds were situated - one in a large kitchen area. 4 bedrooms and bathroom were up a few steps from living level. All doubles. Adequate bathrooms for 6 of us. (The stairs had no handrails, so a bit tricky for the oldest in our party.) Would recommend car hire for access to local amenities and for getting around generally - a 10-15 minute drive to the coast and approx 1 hour from Chania airport.
