About this property

Stay Inside Yosemite National Park! No separate park reservation required.

IMPORTANT: We do not accept third party bookings. The person whose name is on the reservation must be staying at the property.

We no longer accept dogs or any pets, no exceptions.

Pricing is $390.00 base price for up to 2 guests. $40.00 per night for each additional guest per night after the first 2 guests. Children under age 3 stay free, 10% discount on one week stays. (Please let us know if any of your children are aged 3 and under when you fill out the inquiry form.) Minimum stay of 2 nights.

Minimum age of primary renter: 25.

INTERNET AND CELL SERVICE: we have Starlink wifi but no satellite TV (though we do have a DVD library), because trees around the house block satellite reception from the South sky. Wifi speed may sometimes be affected by trees around the house. There is spotty cell service in Yosemite West.

Yosemite West is inside Yosemite National Park. It is a 25-35 minutes drive to Yosemite Valley attractions, 30 minutes to Glacier Point and 30 minutes to Mariposa Grove and Wawona. This is also the closest lodging for Badger Pass Ski Area, with downhill and cross country skiing and snowshoeing - only eight miles away from your door.

This Yosemite West home is located close to the Glacier Point Road, so you are very close to Taft Point and Glacier Point, the most spectacular views of Yosemite Valley.

This house sleeps a maximum of 8 - 10 people. Please note if you have a larger group that this house has 1 1/2 bathrooms, and only 1 shower. If you prefer 2 showers, please check out our other Yosemite West rental cabin, the Hummingbird Pines House (VRBO 470093).

The Hummingbird Raven House has a spacious deck high in the trees which is a wonderful place to eat dinner and enjoy the sunset.

Please note that our house has a spiral staircase which may be difficult for elderly folks and small children. Our other Yosemite West vacation home, the Hummingbird Pines House (VRBO 470093) is more suited to elderly guests as it has only 2 steps into the house and bedrooms on the ground floor.

If our cabin and Yosemite are accessible, we do not cancel, modify, or refund reservations based on smoke, which is a very common occurrence in Yosemite each summer. This policy is consistent with most vacation rentals in Yosemite West.

The master bedroom has a king size bed and a half bath. Upstairs are two additional bedrooms, with a queen size bed and four bunks. A convertible sofa-bed in the office sleeps 1 to 2 more guests. Note: we cannot accommodate more than 10 guests at a time.

This house is equipped with a full kitchen and a large dining table. There is a bbq and dining furniture on the deck, which is a wonderful place to enjoy dinner and watch the sunset.

Air conditioning is individually controlled through a mini-split system controlled by remotes in each room. Our location is 6,000 feet of elevation, so generally is cooler than Yosemite Valley.

Load and start the dishwasher
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys
Please empty all dishes from the dishwasher and put them away.
Put trash inside the bear-proof box on the front porch AND MAKE SURE IT IS SECURELY CLOSED, or leave your trash bagged in the kitchen. Don't leave the box unlocked or leave trash bags beside it.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Please close the barbecue when not in use, and do not leave food, trash or dirty dishes on the deck as both will attract bears.
Please make sure all windows and doors are closed when you leave the house as bears will enter the house through open windows.
Yosemite West is a High-Risk Fire Area. No Smoking, candles, incense or ANY other open flames, either inside of the house or on the property.

Great location that is close to Yosemite valley attractions & very close to Glacier Point. Nice cooking area with private deck to relax, and main room with big windows to soak in the surrounding trees.

Awesome stay!

We had a great stay at the Hummingbird Cabin! Its proximity to the Yosemite Valley was awesome, amenities were great (updated appliances and AC in all bedrooms), and the place was cozy and comfortable. Dining on the deck was incredibly enjoyable and access to the park was super easy. Thanks for a great stay!

Yosemite National Park

Great location to main attractions: 25-30 minute drive to Yosemite Valley, Wawona, Glacier Point. Nice comfortable cabin for a family or group. Was there during the week and it was very quiet area. Inside the park, so no need to exit and make insane line to get back in.

Great location inside the park. Not far from the tunnel into Yosemite and glacier point. There were many issues in the house maintenance wise though. For the price we paid, we didn’t expect to have so many problems.

The houses over all cleanliness was not the best. Appliances all very clean but rest of house shelf’s and cabinets were not clean in kitchen. Cabinets hinges loose and carpet dirty. Many lights did not work. House would have been fine with a little extra cleaning and maintenance.

Early May Stay

Beautiful place to stay with the uncertainty of flooding in the Valley/campgrounds this time of year. We loved the location, the property, and the privacy. Very close drive into Tunnel View. 10/10 and hope they let us book again!

Very kind owners, great communication and responses. Good location inside of Yosemite NP, with a quick 7 minutes drive to tunnel view which provided us with an out of this world sunrise view of Yosemite valley and it waterfalls.

Perfect Yosemite Getaway

We had a wonderful stay in this Yosemite home. The location is terrific — just a short drive to Yosemite Valley and minutes away from Badger Pass ski resort. Our kids loved the bunk beds and the spiral stair case. We loved the well-equipped kitchen and open living space down stairs. We now think Yosemite West is a hidden gem and we'd loved to stay at this house again in the future.

Seeking Peace in Yosemite

Nice lived-in cabin for 4 to stay comfortably (max 4 because everyone has to share the same shower). Plenty of space for indoor and outdoor relaxation. Great location for accesssing Yosemite Valley or Mariposa Grove (about 35 minutes from each) without having to enter through the park entrance ranger station. This location allowed access to the park twice in the same day when we wanted to hike early, come home for a rest, and then return to Yosemite Valley in the evening.

Trip was perfect but house had no lock on patii door so, not secure. And carpeting and supplied towels and cooking supplies need to be in a landfill. Rot on bottom of microwave left it unusable for safety reasons. I see 2 years ago someone complained about the rusty microwave and people keep using it? Over all felt pretty gross for what we paid.

Perfect for our needs

The hosts, Michelle and Peter were helpful in our pre-trip planning to make sure we were prepared for half-done and were easy to communicate with while we were at the house. The cabin house was perfect for our needs and was very clean. When they warn you about the bear activity make sure you do everything they tell you! There was bear activity in the neighborhood and we even saw a coyote waltzing down the street!

Yosemite NP is a fantastic place. This place is in a great location. Unfortunately, it was extremely hot outside and inside. I wish we could have gotten the temperature below 85 inside the house - but there was no relief. We enjoyed almost every area of Yosemite while there, easy access daily, already inside the park to minimize lines/waiting. We were up early each day and home late - so much to do in the park. Just wish we could have slept, but it was too hot.

Beautiful home and location

Great experience. The location is inside of Yosemite and it is totally worth it. The home has a large deck and a gas grill. We were able to grill every night after a long day of hiking. The hosts are very interested in making sure that you have a well-planned trip so that you can see the sights and plan out a reasonable day. There is plenty of tourist information inside of the house. We even watched some of their Yosemite DVDs that they had in the house. That was a nice touch! You can't go wrong with this house!

A great base for exploring Yosemite

The location was perfect for getting into the park ahead of the crowds. The cozy little house suited our needs well. A couple minor mechanical issues: two windows didn't open properly, and two were missing screens, which would have helped cool the house off more quickly at night. There were some sharp points sticking up through the carpet near the table - nothing serious, but an uncomfortable surprise walking barefoot. Other than that, it was great.

Location

You are paying for the location here. You are essentially in the park. But you are still 45 minutes from the heart of hiking and trails at Yosemite Valley. One big negative is that there is NO Wi-Fi or cellular service at this location. This made it very difficult to navigate and plan during our stay. I felt for the price of the stay, an internet connection would be appropriate. The cabin was the perfect size for our group. Although the flooring and carpeting was very worn and warped in some areas.

Yosemite

The property was clean. Simplistic. A bit aged and worn. The kitchen had all the utensils and appliances one would need. Everything was convenient and met our needs other than no internet connection and no sponges or brushes to facilitate cleaning up in the kitchen. The downstairs master lacks a shower or bath, and there is a small spiral staircase to the second floor where the full bath and other rooms are located. The stairs are rather slippery and need a non slip pad, especially jf one is only wearing socks. The house requires you to bring your own soaps and shampoo for the bathroom. Previous guests have left some pantry items as the host foes not iffer any. The setting was pleasant among the trees in a neighborhood setting with houses near by. We were about a half hour from Yosemite valley, an easy drive. Heating and air in each room worked well once we figured that out. The home could use guest instructions since without the internet, VRBO access was non existent.

Homey hideaway

We greatly enjoyed our stay at the Hummingbird Raven house - thank you for sharing it with us. It is in a convenient location to get to Curry or Yosemite village and is in a lovely development but manages to still feel secluded. The home has a comfortable, friendly feel with an open concept kitchen, dining, living room area. The deck is fantastic with large tables and a grill - perfect for having dinner and playing games/socializing in the evening. Waking up in the main bedroom to a gorgeous pine forest was definitely a treat! One suggestion is to add more screens to windows to let the beautiful mountain air in. Extra points to the wonderful caretakers who promptly came over to adjust the tank on the gas grill and were friendly and accommodating and will deliver an unbaked pizza to your house (bonus)!

Meh!

I've rented probably a dozen or more times through VRBO & this was by far my biggest disappointment. It was a great location to park. Unfortunately it was incredibly hot & with no AC, it was so uncomfortable. The property had only 2 fans & so my adult sons had to share a room for a fan. The grill is in bad condition and one burner not working but we had to use because it was too hot to cook inside and then no spatula but 20 wooden spoons. None of which make it easy to flip a burger! I understand that owners can't control the weather but it could have been a better stay.

Location great, facility a disappointment

The location was great for our trip; however, the cleanliness was not good. I have stayed in rustic cabins and understand what comes with that type of lodging. However, cleanliness is expected as a standard especially for our cost to stay. The carpet was dirty (all over), furniture was dusty and stained, kitchen cabinets doors where dirty, screen door was broken, etc. There was a "large" spider web (and spiders) in the bathroom which based on size has been there a long time. We were asked not to come to the house until the cleaners had time to clean (not sure they cleaned at all). No way would we stay at that house again or recommend it to anyone. Thank you.

Not as expected

This house is in need of a good cleaning. Carpets very dirty. Fabric on living room furniture dirty. Six fabric covered chairs, all dirty. Very worn toilet seat. Broken shower drain. Microwave dirty and rusted. Sofa pillows have holes. Fabric door on Master toilet. BBQ too dirty to use. I expected more for the price paid. Disappointed. We do not recommend.

Wiped the dining room table and the towel was black when fininshed. Downstairs bedroom - It is listed as a three bed room two bath. There are two bedrooms upstairs and one down stairs. The bedroom downstairs has a toilet and a sink, no tub or shower. (It is actually a 1 bath room and half bath. There is one shower and one tub all up stairs). The lights over the sink were burned out and and three of the six lights in this bedroom ceiling were burned out.The rail outside is broken and there is no light when coming in after dark. The picture on the website shows a actual stair case it is a spiral stair case. Not good for seniors and should be specified in the description.They supplied shampoo but no soap or body wash.We paid for two nights but left after one.

We loved the location. The deck was nice and the neighborhood was convenient and quiet. A couple of things that might have impacted our rating: 1) all the light bulbs need to be replaced and upgraded with LED..you can't see to do everything. Even the fluorescent in the kitchen has burnt bulbs, 2) the furniture was extremely uncomfortable and so were the beds...the tiredness of the furniture was not the issue if you come home exhausted from hiking you want some comfort either to sit or sleep...updating would a go along way including the DVD collection haha..thanks for the stay. Just trying to be constructive.

What makes this property unique

Yosemite West is inside the Park boundaries, so it's a perfect location to enjoy Yosemite (20 minutes to Yosemite Valley and Glacier Point, and close to various trailheads). It has the advantage of being very close to the Badger Pass ski area, and being at a higher elevation than the Valley, which keeps the temperatures more comfortable in the summer months.
