Great Family Get Away

It was very comfortable and within walking distance to all Avalon activities. The kitchen was well stocked with all of the needed cookware and dishware. Layout of the house was perfect.

very outdated decor, and also not very clean. not recommended. No blow dryer, very old dirty floors and bedding (pillows/bedspread) very old. Needs a major upgrade. I will stay somewhere else next time

From the Owner: "We’re sorry to hear that our home did not meet your expectations. We strive to maintain the charm of our 100-year-old home while keeping it updated and comfortable for guests. The living room and all bedrooms still feature the original hardwood floors, which were recently refinished, and the rest of the home has tile flooring. The kitchen has been updated with granite countertops, and all of this is accurately reflected in the listing photos.All bedding was replaced last fall, and the hair dryer, located in the large bathroom vanity drawers, is in working order. Regarding your comment about the floors, the entire house is swept and mopped before every arrival. It’s possible the natural patina of the dark hardwood floors was mistaken for dirt.Many guests have shared how much they appreciate the unique ambiance of the home, and we’re proud to offer a space that reflects its historic character while providing modern comforts."

Photos were accurate. BBQ grill was not usable. No beach chairs, except for rusty ones outside. TV hard to figure out. It met our basic needs. Location good.

This home has everything you need. Close to town. Very walkable and far enough away to be quiet at night. We walked everywhere, to and from even from the passenger ferry. I would suggest taking an extension cord. Outlets are not in convenient locations (100 yr old house). Also not all doors close/lock. Not an issue for us, but could be for some. Overall we (5 adults) enjoyed our stay very much.

Most allowed us to check in earlyWhich was nice. My only complaint is that the door knobs kept coming loose especially the one to the restroom. I was locked in there and couldn’t get out until my husband came with some tools to try and fix the doorknob to let me out. The room door knobs had the same issue. The property said it was water friendly to preserve water but the toilet kept running non stop. One of the showers was hard to use because when you turn the knobs no water came out. Location is decent and close to town.

Location was great, home was comfortable and clean. The only 2 issues on the listing is that there was no mention of the fireplace not working as pilot light was not lit and that you would have had to buy wood and starter to warm the place up. The other issue was there was nothing on the listing that said the barbecue was not propane and one would have to buy briquettes and starter fluid.Veronica the contact was very responsive to my texts if we had questions.

A Birthday in Avalon

We chose this place because of the fireplace. We were disappointed when we got there and realized the fireplace didn’t work. In the photos it showed a working fireplace. The beds were not very comfortable. The carpet didn’t look like it had been cleaned in quite a while. The location was fabulous and the check-in was very simple. One big plus was a very well-stocked kitchen. Having two bathrooms was also an asset.

Nice house inside. Bathrooms very nice! Kitchen great, but dishwasher handle missing so very dangerous to turn on and off! Lamp in living room didn’t’ Work, so couldn’t read. Overheads were like flashlights in your eyes. Nice variety of cooking utensils, but no pancake griddle. Outdoor BBQ was very old and grill couldn’t be cleaned. Bench, planters, shrubs all needed care and weeding. Broken door in the laundry room. Very comfortable and spacious bedrooms, dining room , and island!

Great property, great location and great value

House was perfect! Cozy and quaint, 3 spacious bedrooms and 2 bathrooms made this the perfect fit for 3 adult couples. Didn’t need to bring a single kitchen item as this house is fully stocked. Great location and close to the grocery store for any items. Close proximity to everything fun. Highly recommend this house.

Short stay at this place

All was well except the carpet in living room and beds. Carpet in the livingroom is very dirty that my baby’s outfit got so dirty while playing in livingroom. My baby even got sick. Even we adults walking in there without shoes n socks our feet got so dirty. Carpet needs to be replaced. Livingroom is not as big as shown in picture on the site. Beds were small and not cozy. Besides, everything was nice.
