We visited in August for 1 week. We enjoyed the area, with all of the abundant hikes and things to see in the Adirondack mountains! We also enjoyed the pool and the provided barbecue.
What a great place for meeting friends and family. Five minutes from the church and will rent again

Property not what it used to be
This was our third timing staying at the house. It is not being maintained well and has really gone downhill. Appliances were broken, amenties were not available/ready, overall condition of house and yard were neglected.

Hi Randy, we’re so sorry to hear this stay didn’t live up to your past experiences at the home. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:- We’ve recently faced some personal challenges and are now actively working with our maintenance team to ensure the home is brought back up to standard.- We’re addressing the reported appliance issues and making sure all amenities are fully prepared for future guests.- The yard and general upkeep are also being prioritized to restore the home to the condition that returning guests expect. Thanks for your valuable feedback.
My family and I came to attend a family wedding and visit with family. This lovely home, provided the perfect gathering place. The bedrooms were comfortable with plenty of room for our personal items. The bathroom upstairs was nicely redecorated with a great tub/shower and plenty of hot water. The living room was nicely furnished with comfy furniture and the TV room had a great gas burning woodstove that provided lots of warmth. Great big dinning table for everyone to sit, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The basement had a cool bar and big screen for watching movies. There was even a ping pong table for playing ping pong. Maytag washer and dryer. We didn't want for anything. The property owner was readily available for any of our questions and needs. We really feel like we fond a jewel in Johnstown. We would surely stay here again!

NO DRYER
There was some safety issues (rotting stairs, outlets that had no cover plates, lights out by pool too close to water, etc.) The main issue was there was not a working dryer!! Annabelle said they were waiting for a new one! We were not offered laundry service or money to go to laundromat!! There were not enough towels for eight people for two weeks! so, twice we had to go to dry towels! It was quite inconvenient while on vacation!! Wish we had been told ahead of time regarding the dryer situation!!!

Hi Donna, thanks for taking the time to leave a review. After reading your feedback, the homeowner wanted to share the following:
We sincerely apologize for the dryer not working during your stay. We will ensure our guests are aware before they check in if there are any amenity issues.
Thanks for sharing your valuable feedback!
With a little attention, it would be a great place to stay.
It is a nice set up. There was plenty of space for us to sit and relax. It was an older house but being familiar with the area I expected that. It does need a deep clean. There is mold in the bathtub jets and the area rug in the bedroom where I stayed was really dirty. The hard surfaces were all wiped down and clean.
There was a sign on the dishwasher saying it was out of order and the hot tub didn’t work which were both disappointing.
It would have been nice to have a binder there with information instead of having to keep pulling up my email. The WiFi information on the email I received after the reservation was paid did not work but I contacted the property manager and she gave me the correct information. I would recommend to the owners that they supply basics like trash bags so guests don’t have to buy a box of trash bags for 1 to put in the bin.
With a good deep cleaning and repairs it would be a great place to stay.
Hot tub/dishwasher/fireplace are broken and property is dirty
I found this house last minute for our New years gateaway and was very dissapointed finding it in dirty condition. I have never rented something in such a condition. Some of the dirty dishes were left in the sink. We found spider web everywhere. But the most disappointing part was broken hot tub, dishwasher with sign "out of order" and fireplace. I regret that I didnt read reviews before booking it. Looks like it all got broken long time ago and they still have hot tub on the listing which was the main reason choosing this house. So, I couldn't find anything to move out and we had to deal with it. Management answers pretty slow. If you need something right now, you wont get an answer. Even though, they compensate some money, it still didn't cover our dissapotment. We would rather to pay more and have better conditions to celebrate the holiday. I think they either should care about this house better or remove hot tub from the listing/add description what is out of order. That would be much fair

Not clean & they charge a $325 cleaning fee
Upon first appearance the house is nicely decorated. The owners did provide toilet paper, paper towels, and hand/dish soap which was nice. However, the house needs a serious deep clean. The ceiling fans in the bedrooms directly
Above the beds had a thick layer of dust on them. There were crumbs in the corners of the kitchen floors and the dining room & dust bunnies in the family room. Only one of the lights above the bathroom vanity worked, the other one had a missing bulb & the other 2 did not work. There were cobwebs & dust hanging from the ceilings & corners in the bathroom. When we turned on the exhaust fan in the bathroom dust flew out. We killed 4 bugs in the bathroom. The washer had 2 hand towels left in it that stunk of wet mildew. The washer was also gross, I would not wash anything in it. The walkway from the driveway to the front door is not lit & very dark. The dishwasher & fireplace in the living room do not work. Overall, the house had a very musky smell to it. When we arrived we reached out to the property manager & sent her photos & told hee for the hefty cleaning fee the house should be immaculate. She said she wouldn’t blame us if we wanted to leave & they would refund us. We called the holiday inn but they could not accommodate us. We told her about the lights in the bathroom & She said if we sleep there we would not be granted a refund. The owners are unreachable, just the property manager. I
Asked for the owners to reach out to me, still waiting.

Beautiful home
Annabelle and her neighbor were very friendly and responsive to our family's needs. Beds were super comfortable. Plenty of room for our family of 4. Beautiful outdoor living space. Loved the huge laundry room and chute.
We enjoyed our stay. Plenty of room for our family of 4. Enjoyed the pool and the multiple outside seating areas. Perfect location for family to meet us before we went to lake George and the Great Sacandaga Lake. There is also a garage my son was able to put his motorcycle in when it rained. Laundry room was huge and it was fun to use the laundry chute. Kitchen was really nice with everything you need. Beds were super comfortable. The decor was beautiful. Annabelle and her neighbor were extremely nice and responsive to our needs. Thank you for everything ❤

Johnstown Rental Property
Please review the issues listed below for this rental property.
We feel that we did not get the rental property that we paid $2,853.30 for as described on the website.
For this reason, we are asking that we receive some refund of our payment.
We appreciate a prompt response to this request.
My grandson caught a mouse in the basement the other day and released it outside. I have killed a few ants in the upstairs bathroom.
Some ceiling fans not working or unstable
Some lights not working
Hot tub not working
Fireplace not working
Upstairs railing needs to be stabilized as there is a bolt sticking half up & is loose
Window ac units should be installed and in working order during warm weather. My grandsons had to install one from basement.
Make sure the heater is in working order for cold weather
Pool should be cleaned and ready for use. My grown grandchildren cleaned it out in order to use it one day.
The microwave light (the one that lights up the stove) is not working
Some suggestions for making the home more inviting:
Purchase a 4 pack of kleenex to place around the house
Supply the kitchen with aluminum foil, saran wrap, different size food storage bags and paper towels
Provide an electric skillet and cookie trays
A good supply of kitchen towels and dish cloths
Casserole size dishes, mixing bowls & refrigerator storage containers
Proper kitchen utensils such as potato peeler, chip clips, electric hand mixer
Instructions on sink garbage disposal
Instructions as to what is considered recyclable
Provide 2 ply toilet paper, rather than 1 if possible with your system
A day or two later, my grandson caught another mouse in the basement and released it outside.
My daughter caught her finger between a chair leg and the seat moving it. My husband checked and found loose screws in the leg and one was about to come out. He tightened them by hand.
The cover of the kitchen light fixture in the ceiling was coming loose and my husband had to take it down before it fell and broke or hit someone.
The garbage can cover has a hole in it so animals got into the trash when it was put out. I picked up the trash from the street twice. With the rain, there was also wet trash in the bottom of the can that did not get removed when trash was picked up.
This house felt like we were borrowing someone's fully equipped home. The owners left no stone unturned in terms of comfortable seating, entertainment, kitchen equipment, and overall property. Our family of 4 was very comfortable during our stay.
