The home large and had plenty of space to accommodate our group of 10. The home is pet-friendly and was clean enough upon arrival. The pool is lovely, though the heat wasn't on - the owner remedied that when we inquired and it took a few hours to heat up. The hot tub was a hit with our group, and the grounds are nice to walk around on and the outdoor seating and grill area was also enjoyed. The distance to the State Park is ideal and the property was relaxing and quiet for our stay.

Overall Quality of the House Didn't Meet the Price We Paid

We appreciated the large size of the property and the location. Unfortunately, first impressions are extremely important. The entry into the home was through the garage. It didn't greet us with the atmosphere of the high price per night we paid. Let's just say it wasn't vacation-like...including the fact that the floor drain was backed up and there was a bit of standing dirty water. There was a screened gazebo that looked inviting until we noticed one of the screens covered with what looked like spider webs . The inside stair rail wasn't very sturdy and the spindles are far apart enough that a child could fall through. It was a little difficult to find wood for the firepit. There were some logs that must have been from trees on the property. Someone noticed poison ivy on the property. Burning logs that have had contact with poison ivy can be dangerous to anyone breathing the smoke. The POOL- walking into the pool room it looked like the picture - YAY! It was advertised as a heated pool - but the heater wasn't working. When we contacted someone, they were responsive and understanding. However, the bottom line is- it couldn't be repaired in time for any of us to swim . Not one of the six adults and one child swam in the pool because the pool temperature was too chilly. If the we could have used the pool, we could have overlooked most of the issues and would not have asked for a refund. The refund we requested was due simply for the fact that we rented the home for the indoor heated pool and we couldn't swim at the temperature we were promised. The refund we did receive did not reflect the fact that what we did get was simply a four bedroom house.

Perfect!

Everything was great! The house was roomy for our group of 5 adults and 5 kids. Everything you'd need is there! Of course the pool was a big hit with the kids (no boring rainy days when you have an indoor pool!) and the hot tub was a hit with the adults. There's a ping pong table and plenty of pool toys and games. A big plus is the washer and dryer. No going to a laundromat. The beds were comfortable and linens were clean. We recommend it for more reasons too numerous to mention. It was the perfect vacation place to stay!

A home away from home

Everyone loved this property, from the one year old to the 67 year old! The pool more than met our expectations as it was large, clean and loads of fun! The location was great as we were able to spend some time at the dunes and sometime in the pool. We would definitely consider going back and thought it would be a fun winter getaway as well.

Great Family Vacation!

This was a perfect little getaway for our family. The kids loved the pool. The kitchen was well stocked, which we greatly appreciated since we ate in most of the trip. It's not an inexpensive rental, but worth the splurge if you can do it!

Family fun

We had a great stay. The property manager, Tara, was very responsive. One non-emergent issue arose and a maintenance person arrived within an hour or two (very prompt and courteous) . Towels galore for the pool, pool toys, bubbly hot tub. The safety gate blocks the pool but not the hot tub. Lots of seating inside and in pool area. Comfy reclining chairs around the pool. We packed a portable speaker for music. We were not able to experience the outdoors amenities due to rain and snow. Plenty of areas for sleeping. The mattresses were so so and barely enough pillows if you have a larger group. Lots of showers for post-pool rinsing/showering. A great escape for a few days of indoor swimming and hot tubing during rain and snow and cold.

Great Stay! Pool is HUGE!

We had a relaxing and fun winter get away at this adorable MI home. The house is very clean and DOES NOT smell of pool or chlorine in the home. The beds were comfortable and the house was decorated really nicely. The bath towels were so nice and fluffy. Pool room is very convenient with just a slider door off the kitchen. The kids had a blast every day. There are also a lot of chairs, tables, etc in the pool area. Owner provided noodles and some pool toys. Ping pong table was a big hit. TV in family room is enormous and they have netflix! We expected the house to be a bit out of the way, but were pleasantly surprised to see how close we were to wineries and restaurants. Owner leaves the best welcome book I've ever seen at a VRBO with TONS of recommendations and helpful notes. It was snowing while we were there, so we did not use the outside. But, it looks like they have a cute fire pit area and grill... big yard. Owner lets you park in the garage, which was awesome for us with the snow and sleet! We would definitely come again and are considering coming next year again for another long weekend.

Amazing find in lower MI

We enjoyed our stay here immensely. It's quite close to Chicago and offered an oasis of fun during the cold winter months. Management was very responsive when an issue came up during our stay and it was quickly resolved. We look forward to returning soon!

Great for Chicago winters!

The house was perfect for a quick weekend. The owners were extremely easy to get in touch with if we had questions. The kids loved the pool and they even had pool toys and beach towels there as well. The only negative is that the pool area has commercial carpet all around it. Which is great for not slipping however it soaks up all the water from getting in and out of pool so therefore when we were there it was sopping wet all the way leading into the house. We had to make sure we had flip flops on and most of us did not bring them so they just wore gym shoes as you wouldn’t want to go barefoot. The ping pong table was also a hit with the adults and we loved the separate living areas so adults and kids can have their own space. We would definitely go back!

Amazing home!

The pictures of the home do not do it justice! We felt like we were in our own private resort. The pool was amazing. The house was immaculate. And the cows across the street were so fun to watch. Kids and adults had a great stay and we can't wait to visit again. We are also addicted to the massage chair!

We LOVED this property! The pool and hot tub were a huge reason we booked here, and we were not disappointed. We did not venture down to the lake, because the fall weather was iffy, but it was great knowing we could still swim and enjoy ourselves without going anywhere! The one thing we noticed that could be improved is that there is not a lot of cookware (casserole dishes, pots, pans), and what we could find in that regard was on the smaller side. We made it work, but that was really our only criticism. We used the house for a staff training retreat and it was perfect. We would love to return in the future!

Wow is all I can say. The pictures really don't do this place justice. It was so easy to find this location as it is just off of I-94. Coming from Chicago this was only an hour drive. The place was very modern and clean. The beds were super comfortable and spacious. My daughter's loved having their own level upstairs just to themselves. The pool area was amazing. My family stayed in the pool the majority of our stay. We had a blast. My daughter plays volleyball and loved the volleyball net. The basketball court was nice as well. At night we were able to sit out on the patio and watch the stars. It was very serene and peaceful. There is so much to do at this house that we didn't even have time to venture out and explore. This was the perfect quick getaway to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of city life! We'll definitely be back!
