The house was bigger than we imagined. Plenty of extra rooms and beds for all the family needs. A perfect little getaway spot still close enough to New Buffalo that you didn't feel like it was a trek to go into town.

The Harbor Country Family Lodge is a perfect vacation home as advertised in the pictures. Our 3 generations enjoyed the house, pool, outdoor spaces and nearby beaches. The house has everything you need for a great vacation. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home with us.

Great space for several families to gather. We enjoyed the many living spaces and multiple sleeping options. The house is well stocked and the outdoors provide swimming pool, play equipment, campfire pit, etc. Short ride to the beaches make for fun beach days.

Lots to do on and near the property. Very spacious and neat. Lots of quiet nooks for alone time.Lake Michigan about 5 miles. Notre Dame is a 40 minute drive. We would come again!

This house is perfect for a large group. The bedrooms were nice for a family with kids. Bathroom in all. Nice spacious laundry room away from bedrooms. Dining room table very large. The pool was the highlight of our week. Temp was perfect. Beach towels appreciated. Swings nice for kids. We had a great week and enjoyed this house very much. The house was also spotless. Very clean. Fairly close to Townline beach.

Relaxing Country Stay

The house was immaculate and all beds were comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with every gadget we might need. Having a second fridge was great as we were a large group and did not want to eat out every night. The pool was the perfect size and depth for our family of adults and toddlers and was also always clean. We found great ice cream spots and Silver Beach was delightful.

Comfortable expansive home

This property was a great fit for our large group of 3 generations. Lots of beds to spread out to and kitchen was very well equipped (listing should state this). We used the pool, outdoor games on large lawn, board games, grill, front patio and back deck. Two refrigerators were a bonus! Owner is onsite and very discreet and extremely helpful with questions. Easy drive to the beaches.

Perfect house for a large family

I highly recommend this lodge. The house was clean, well stocked, and huge. The kids loved the pool and play area. The fire pit was perfect for somemores, and there were lots of games for kids and adults alike. There was also lots to do in the area with beaches being the favorite. I recommend New Buffalo beach and St. Joseph beach. Because of Covid, many of the restaurants didn't do carry out, but our best meals were cooked at the lodge.

Great peaceful getaway

House is very well stocked, beach towels provided, great communication, fast response time to any problems that arose. Should be aware that the internet is very spotty, on and off, so need to keep that in mind. Also the area around has very few restaurants, most chain restaurants in Michigan City about 25 minutes. 2 families stayed comfortably and enjoyed the pool and volleyball net.

Great for Family gatherings.

The home was clean and fully stocked. Everything you need from a gas grill, pots and pans, dishwasher detergent, Dawn dish soap, laundry detergent. Everything you have at home this home has. The pool was great, Firepit plus play area for the grandkids. The home is designed so that each family could have some alone/quiet time when needed. Tons of things to do in the area and within an hours drive. Recommend Sand Pirate sandcastle building class, was a blast for a competitive family. I would recommend this property to anyone for a multi family gathering.

Large home with a beautiful view.

Very spacious home with lots of room for everyone, storage including 2 refrigerators, a well appointed kitchen. Unfortunately, the internet was unusable, not just spotty as listed. Found out the day we arrived, that a heated pool is no longer available. Plenty of towels, however, some beds did not have a top sheet, only the bedspread which did not look freshly laundered.

I have stayed at VRBO rentals before but this location managed by Peggy went above and beyond to make our weekend special. We walked into our rental to find fresh made cookies and a very helpful binder explaining various aspects of the house. The kitchen and bathrooms were stocked which was a nice change from rentals I have had before that don’t even provide you with toilet paper. Small travel size soaps, shampoos, coffee filters, garbage bags, soap and whatnot was provided. The place was clean and cozy. There was plenty of room for our group to sprawl out. We saw Peggy a few times and each time she was very pleasant and friendly. We would definitely use this VRBO again and highly recommend it!

Large House for gathering

The house is as large as promised and provided several separate living spaces, tv spaces, game table space, and several seating areas to divide up the groups. However, the bedrooms will bring the groups closer. Kitchen is truly functional for group cooking and eating together. Pool was nice to have for the kids, but remember Michigan is up north so it did not get as much use as southern pools. Location is close to several really nice beach spots and historic sites. Although it feels like it is deep in woods, it is close to highway that allows easy travel to places, you definitely hear the very busy highway. There are rules for the property including a limit to cars and where they can park, which they fully enforce.

Great house, but pool wasn’t heated

This house is wonderfully located and has many areas for seating and catching up with your family and friends. There was even a basket of homemade cookies to welcome us. The only issue we had was with the pool and communication with the property management company. We rented the house since the pool was advertised as heated and we had 5 kids under the age of 12 that really wanted to swim on the holiday weekend. Before our arrival we were even given the option of heating it higher than 80 degrees for an additional fee. Unfortunately there was a cold snap the weekend of Memorial Day weekend (under 50 degrees at night) so we asked about paying extra to heat the pool above 80. We arrived to the pool being freezing cold and noticed the heater was not on. After calling, texting and emailing the management company several times and getting different answers to have someone fix it or turn it on, we found out on the last day of our stay that the owners are afraid of having the pool heater on and possibly breaking the heater if it is too cold (under 50 degrees at night). They did turned it on on the last day of our stay, but it wasn’t enough time to get it heated for swimming. Our kids spent a total of 10 minutes in the pool due to it being so cold. We were compensated for the lack of pool, but would have rather see our kids have some pool time. Great house. Great property. Well appointed. But the pool is only heated when the weather is warm, and the management company lacked responsive communication.
