PERFECT location if you’re going to Rupp Arena! Such a short walk to get there. Loved that the house was on a quiet, historic street. We're both Kentucky natives. Haviland is from Cynthiana, and John is from Lebanon. We rented an apartment in the house for several years and bought it in the summer of 2016 because we found it charming and also knew it would be challenging. It was in a state of disrepair when we bought it, and almost every area in the house had critical issues to address. We spent 18-months doing an intense DIY renovation to make it as inviting and comfortable as we can for our guests. We're still making minor adjustments and improvements almost daily, and it's become more of a passion now than work.

Why they chose this property

This particular apartment is within a historic house in a residential neighborhood near Downtown Lexington. It is in walking distance to bars and restaurants, and the owners live next door and are almost always available if-needed.

What makes this property unique

This home has many unique features, from the gingerbread moulding on the porch, to the hardwood floors inside. We purchased it from a friend who purchased it from a friend. We are constantly working to make it even better. Our favorite space is probably the backyard which is shared with all 3-apartments in the house.
