In town for the Mammoth March. Staying at this property was a good experience. Very clean. Check out “to-do” list is reasonable. Kitchen had most of what we needed to cook our meals - very small cutting board, only one dish towel. Quiet area, neighboring properties were occupied. We enjoyed our time here. Would recommend.

Ruebling Cabin

We had a wonderful stay. Very cute cabin with a comfortable porch for a cup of coffee or glass of wine. Close to walking trails and wineries.

Cozy cabin

It was a great property for two people to stay and have a weekend of relaxation and fun… Visited several of the wineries and went to the vintage and antique market a few miles away… Would definitely think about staying there again.

We had a wonderful stay at the Ruebling cabin. It was exactly as the pictures showed. I have a lot of allergies, so staying in rentals can be tricky, but I had no troubles. It was clean and comfortable. They have done a really nice job of making upgrades (lots of hot water and easy air conditioning control) while maintaining a cabin feel. If we are back in the area, we will definitely try to stay here.

Lovely stay

Cute cabin like VRBO close to Wine Country

Cute cabin type decos, full size appliances, all the ammenities you could possibly need. Plenty of room for two people. Close to the wineries and since it’s close by check out Washington, Mo. Lots of shops there. We just might have to stay here again!

Fantastic rental

This rental exceeded our expectations. This unit is a small cabin that is beautifully decorated with many added conveniences. The beds were so comfortable and we enjoyed sitting outside on the front porch as a family while playing games.

Clean, cozy space great for four

My teen daughter declared this property "super-cute" and was excited to sleep in the loft. The location is near St Louis suburbs and the Hidden Valley Ski Resort (which is wear we were going). Easy check-in/out and the operators were very responsive.

Lovely Defiance

We were in Defiance for a family wedding and stayed 4 nights in the Reubling Cabin. It was delightful--perfectly stocked and spotlessly clean. Quiet and comfortable in all ways and gorgeous surroundings. We were even treated to a sudden cloudburst and hailstorm which was lovely on the tin roof. I highly recommend this charming home where the owners have attended to every detail with obvious love and care. Five stars.

We enjoyed our stay for the most part! Definitely wouldn’t rebook just the cabin in its own - it sits behind the main house and so your view from the front porch is directly into the main house, and there were no blinds on our front door. We also struggled with some of the bathroom features - the shower is not intuitive to get started (but once it’s on, it’s GLORIOUS with those 2 rain shower heads!!), the shower door can only be opened if the main door is closed and there’s very little room to operate; the switch to operate the exhaust fan isn’t near the other switches so we had to shower with the main door open the first night to avoid steam build up; just little things like that which were mostly trivial and a non-issue once we figured it out. Otherwise, the hosts are wonderful and quick to respond! The beds are comfy, and it’s a good place to stay if you’re just in need of a place to come home and rest between days spent out and about.

Cute, clean, and cozy!

This was my second time using Evolve for travel and I have zero complaints! The cabin was set behind the main house, had easy parking, and was exactly as described. The beds were extremely comfortable. The decor was adorable. Everything was clean and in order when we arrived. The area is just outside of St Louis, and has the most beautiful views and scenery. Driving into “town” was a treat every time. The area was quiet, other than the birds chirping. It was truly a gorgeous place to spend our vacation.

Stop looking and book this!

I am fussy. And this was soooo nice! We came to St. Louis for my daughter to have surgery. We stayed here for 2 weeks while she recovered, and the owners went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. Erin brought in a recliner from her own home for us to use for my daughter to sleep in. It was quiet, clean, and so cute! The temperature was easy to control too, contrary to the previous review. I would stay here for a vacation, it was awesome.

Cold cabin

There was a draft with visible light around the front door that made the small space uncomfortably cold. The thermostat was difficult to adjust to maintain a constant warm temperature. There were a few bugs-Surprised to see at this time of the year.

Fantastic cabin, great location

Right next to the Katy trail. This cabin has had a lot of love and attention to detail put in to make it a very comfortable stay! Very comfortable bed, best high pressure shower head I’ve ever used, brand new kitchen. We sat out in the yard both nights, there is comfy outdoor seating on the front porch. Things I always want to know before I go… the coffee pot takes a regular sized coffee filter, and they had some in the cabin when we were there. Don’t forget your shampoo and soap, those aren’t provided. And even though this town is in the country, Ubers were available between wineries if needed. Absolutely perfect weekend!

Perfect 4th of July 2024

The pictures of the property where very accurate. We stayed in the cabin over the long weekend. The AC works great and made the cabin very comfortable. The loft bed was very comfortable with a wall fan providing great air flow. The kitchem was perfect with everything we need to cook breakfast and dinner. There was a shared propane grill on the house deck which was about 20 ft out the door. Very comfortable outdoor seating outside the cabin and on the upper deck around the house. Plenty of off road parking. The town is very small but 2 bar/ grills within a few hundred ft walk. Very safe surroundings. And if your there for the Katy Trail, the trail head is across the street. Really a perfect getway.

Nice property

First let me say the property manager was amazing! When we first arrived we ran into some issues with a large amount of dead Asian Beetles in the house after a brief warm front blew through. This is an old building so totally normal (it happens). We made the property manager aware and they were immediately responsive with the offer to use a different property but we decided to allow them to clean it as we didn’t figure any more bugs would show due to the current cold temps now. They showed in 10 mins to handle the situation. They had it taken care of within 45-60 mins as they did a full reclean and had us head across the street to Circle 6 Restaurant/Bar (fun little place with extremely friendly locals) while they cleaned for dinner and drinks on them. We had a great experience in an amazing old cabin and a great experiences within walking distance to dinner and drinks. We could not have asked for more of the manager or the area! Even though we had the issue I am still giving 5 stars on it! We will likely go back

Quaint and Cold

The property was nice and clean. It was not completely clear that the cabin was in the back yard since the outside photo is of the main home. The cabin is NOT for winter staying unless everyone stays upstairs. The heating elements are nearly on the ceiling on the main level so the main level would be freezing but upstairs would be boiling hot. It made for some uncomfortable nights if you have more than 2 guests. The oven would not get to temprature or stay hot making cooking impossible. We also clogged the toilet and got it fixed, but it seems the pipes are small or something. We only had 1 trash bag and no dish soap. I will say the bedding smelled SOOOO good!
