A nice quick getaway

This was a well stocked home. We love to cook, so it was nice to have pots and pans and all the accessories. The smaller bedroom was difficult to keep cool at night…we like to sleep with our door closed.

Great place, amazing location

My family went to Topsail for vacation and the condo was in a perfect location. Walked downstairs each day for a day at the beach. No sand in car!! The condo was the perfect size for my family of 4 and had everything we needed. My only issue was that it didn’t appaear to be cleaned well before we got there. Sand was everywhere but I let the owner know and he was super kind and apologetic and even offered for his cleaning lady to come back. We said no and just wanted him to know. I would 100% stay there again since we had a great experience with the condo and the amazing kindness and help of its owner! Recommend!

Nice and cozy and clean

Nice and relaxing. Overall nice unit. Sink in the bedroom was a little odd but no big deal. Owner informed me before arriving of issue with balcony door and would have fixed asap if needed. Said we were fine with it and could wait. Well stocked kitchen supplies and nice overall.

The owner answered texts quickly, but the unit had cleanliness issues, deferred maintenance, and listing details that should be disclosed before renting it as a two-bedroom, ocean-view, beachfront property.The keypad didn’t work (a known issue, per the cleaner) and mechanical lockbox key didn’t work either. A neighbor lent us a key so we could use the bathroom while waiting for the cleaner, who also had trouble and had to swap keys.Inside, one balcony door didn’t open, and the other wouldn’t close properly. One bedroom stayed above 80, even with fans and doors open. The floor was sandy, and the kitchen table had debris (fingernail clippings!) in the grooves. The showers had heavy buildup; the second bath had cracked tiles and holes in the wall. The bedroom sink ran only cold water and smelled bad.The biggest disappointment was the beach: beach access was only possible at low tide so most of the day, the beach directly outside our beachfront unit was unusable. To enjoy it, we had to haul all our gear down the street to the nearest public access. It wasn’t far, but the lack of access should have been disclosed. On the plus side: the fridge worked (needed cleaning), furnishings were stylish, and the dishwasher and coffee maker functioned. For cooks, there were plenty of spices and utensils.The owner acknowledged some issues but blamed weather, hard water, and budget. I arrived expecting a clean, well-maintained beachfront condo. So I was pretty disappointed.

That said, we’re sorry to hear that other aspects of your stay fell short of your expectations. We passed your comments along to the homeowner, and they wanted to clarify the following:– The cleaning team consistently provides a high standard of service and takes pre-stay photos for quality control. After reviewing those, the unit appeared clean at arrival, and no debris or sand was noted.– Extreme heat during your visit contributed to cooling challenges in one bedroom and affected the functionality of the keypads. Our guest contact assisted with access and provided an alternative key to help get you settled.– This was the first report about the balcony door not working properly. It appears to need maintenance and lubrication, which we will look into. The remaining maintenance items you noted have been noted as well.– Beach conditions in this area change frequently with the tides, and while access can vary depending on time of day, the listing includes a map so guests can research the area before booking.Thanks for your feedback as we work to keep raising the bar for future guests.
