Overall lovely home and enjoyed the stay. Kitchen supplies (pots, pans, utensils) were well-worn -- not great (but not terrible) for cooking some family meals. Perhaps time for a refresh. No microwave was weird.

Six of us visited Austin for a girl's weekend. The house was a perfect size for our group. Lyon was kind enough to send us recommendations even before our trip to help with our planning. He was there to greet us and show us around the house. He was a complete pleasure to work with. The house was immaculate and just as depicted in the pictures.The bed were extremely comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped with too many extra niceties to describe. The out door seating area was perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine. We would highly recommend this wonderful home in an excellent location for a visit to Austin.

My family and I have been meeting up in various locations to celebrate Thanksgiving. We thought Austin might be fun. Lyon's place was the perfect spot. He is responsive and thoughtful and texted me to give me instructions to get in, and let me know he had placed a turkey roasting pan in the oven for us. The house is immaculate and Lyon has seen to every detail for the most discerning traveller: wonderful beds and linens, including plush towels; tasteful and varied decor; sparkling and stylish bathrooms; and a kitchen with spanking appliances and every type of tool and serving dish needed to make a great meal. The tv was great during rainy weather and the washer and dryer were tops. The pantry had all the little things we couldn't bring, like vanilla, sugar, salt and pepper. It is a perfect spot for a family gathering, girls weekend or couple getaway. The location is fabulous as well, just a walk from the beautiful Lady Bird Lake and close to downtown and all the fun night spots. Thank you Lyon! You have set the bar VERY high for a VRBO rental.

Beauty and comfort in great location

Even more beauty in the decor than the photos can reveal, there was a lot of attention put into the details of this place. We found everything we needed to cook and this is one of the few properties I could find that has a table that seats 6 instead of 4. And then there are 3 countertop stools. If you drink alcohol, he has every concievable form of glassware you could want. The pantry had various essentials, such as baking powder. The fridge was also stocked with some drinks and condiments. The beds were extremely comfortable such that we all slept in a lot! The TV has all sorts of subscriptions. The place had umbrellas! Lyon was a great correspondent. My adult kids enjoyed the aromatherapy steam sauna which is located in the upstairs hallway bathroom. This place is so impeccable that I hesitate to add any corrections, but would have liked the addition of facial tissue boxes and decaf coffee pods- we got our own. We found that most things we wanted to do were less than a 15 minute drive or walking distance. The White Horse bar is an Austin classic with two stepping and is walking distance. To find more special indie music, take the Tipster “free” walking tour- they recommend tipping $15-20 per person in cash. We wish someone had told us to get tickets to Esther’s Follies ahead of our trip. The people who say that “money cannot buy happiness” are wrong- this place was worth the price!

We love the interior of this house

We came to Austin this past weekend and 6 of us spent 3 nights at this property. The location is convenient to walking to downtown Austin. The inside of the house has been fully and beautifully renovated and nicely decorated. The bathrooms are modern, updated and very clean. The beds were very comfortable and the linens and pillows were wonderful. The kitchen is well equipped with a gas stove and good appliances and ample amounts of dishes and glassware. Overall, the inside is very clean and appealing. The reason for the 4 star rating is the appearance of the outside of the house and yard. We were all taken aback when we pulled up to the property to check in. The neighborhood seems to be one that is in the process of being renovated and overhauled. Lots of houses look like they have been renovated. Lots of houses do not including this house. The outside is in need of attention. The yard is overgrown and messy. The backyard has a shabby looking building as part of it. I guess my point is that if I had seen pictures of the exterior I would not have booked it even though the interior is really quite nice. So it is smart of the owner not to include external pictures. I hope that exterior renovations are next up for this property because it would be truly great with some attention to the outside.

Comfort And Location

We enjoyed a family Thanksgiving vacation in this lovely home. Lyon was a great host and the house was well stocked with supplies. Beds were comfortable and the spacious living room a plus. We ordered Thanksgiving dinner from Whole Foods and ate in the open dining room. The home's East Austin neighborhood has several great restaurants and you can also walk to Rainey Street, Downtown Austin, and the Hike and Bike Trail. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Wonderful home in charming authentic Austin neighborhood

Home is renovated old school southern charmer. Lyon greeted us with a genuine smile and bevy of helpful recommendations for the area. Added warm touches of provides basics, coffee, beer, extra toiletries. Very tastefully decorated. I was very tempted to try on the purple kamono hanging in the hallway, to practice my jujitsu in the living room. Thought better of it.

Clean, Organized & Perfect Location

Myself and a group of 6 friends (4 girls, 3 guys) stayed here during the 1st weekend of ACL, and it could not have been more perfect. Lyon greeted us upon our arrival, and showed us around the premise, as well as went over different key features of the house. Getting in and out of the house was a breeze as it has a keypad for all guest to use, so no need to worry about sharing keys! He also has a detailed notebook, which was extremely useful that went over standard check out procedures, restaurants near by, & other fun things to do in Austin & gave a good visual reference on the proximity of most of the cool places (Rainey St, La BBQ, Dirty 6th, Barton Springs / Zilker, etc). Our group chose to rent bikes for the weekend from East Side Pedal Pushers, which is only .5 miles from Lyon's house. I definitely suggest using bikes for Austin, as there are so many beautiful scenic routes to take, especially if you're going to Zilker, and its a great way to see the character of the city. This was the closest bike shop and made the most logistical sense for us, but there are plenty of bike renting options across the city. Overall though, I would definitely rent from Lyon again. This house has everything you need; soundbar & sub for streaming music, toiletries included for all the showers, built in washer & dryer (which is rare for Austin) with included laundry detergent, and one of the best locations to boot. Oh and not to mention the beds were extra comfy. Thanks again Lyon, we hope to be back soon!

We loved this beautiful home that comes with everything a guest would need. Lyon was a wonderful host with great recommendations for food and drink around Austin. Owner Lyon met us at this vacation rental home with instructions for the home and Austin recommendations for restaurants and music scene. He is charming and was helpful throughout our stay. The location is excellent. It has a modern kitchen, the beds were comfortable and the lady friends and I appreciated 2 and half baths with the spa. Wow! As other reviewers have said, do not be deceived by the neighborhood. This house is spectacular! It was a perfect place for us and two other couples to stay. The home is impeccable, Lyon was a fantastic host, and we were a few blocks from east sixth and from Rainey street. We loved this place and definitely recommend it!

Revisioning this 2-story home was a dream come true. The remodel was to the highest possible standard, and completed with the thought, 'where would I want to stay?'

Why they chose this property

The neighborhood has so much to offer, and I really recommend that my guests enjoy it on foot or by renting a bicycle. We are steps away from the art galleries and cool spots on East Cesar Chavez, including Cenote Coffee Shop, Cisco's Tex Mex, Coldtowne Comedy Club, Ramen Tatsu-ya, Cosmic Coffee & Beer Garden, Uptown Sports Club, and Lou's All-Day Cafe. Additionally, the property is walking distance to the Rainey Street Entertainment District & E. 6th Street Entertainment District & E. Cesar Chavez Bar District. We are 4 blocks from the shores of Lady Bird Lake & the hike and bike trail that cuts through downtown, and will take you to Butler Park, Zilker Park, Barton Springs & to see the famous bats fly out at dusk from the Congress Street bridge. You can rent a canoe or paddle board along the shoreline, or a party boat for the most amazing night time views of downtown from Lady Bird Lake. The Austin Rowing Club boathouse is a favorite spot of mine at the foot of the Four Season's Hotel's 'Great Lawn'. The boathouse is also home to Alta Cafe, which features an upper level wrap around deck with breathtaking views of the lake. It is the perfect place for a coffee early in the morning or to grab a glass of wine and watch the sunset.

What makes this property unique

I personally check-in guests, and give a brief overview of the amenities in the house, plus close by spots for coffee, groceries, dining and entertainment. I enjoy giving my guests an insider view on the neighborhood hot spots, convenient trailer eateries, and the best bars restaurants and bars nearby. Just knowing who has the best happy hour, or where to rent a bike and/or paddle board can enhance my guests overall experience. My favorite special treat is hiring a pedi-cab downtown to bike me home open air. It can be the perfect end to an evening out, plus we are one of the only residential neighborhoods where the pedi-cabs will take you right to your doorstep. Both Bird and Lime Scooters are usually available for rent on the sidewalk.
