Hiking: There are many hiking trails in the area, ranging from easy to challenging. One popular trail is the Whiteside Mountain Trail, which offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains.
Waterfalls: The Highlands area is home to many beautiful waterfalls, including Dry Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, and Glen Falls. Each waterfall offers a unique experience and photo opportunities.
Lake activities: Lake Glenville is a popular destination for boating, fishing, and swimming. You can rent a boat or jet ski from one of the local rental companies, or take a guided fishing tour.
Shopping: The downtown area of Highlands is filled with unique shops and boutiques, offering everything from handmade crafts to high-end clothing.
Dining: Highlands is known for its excellent dining options, ranging from upscale restaurants to casual cafes. Be sure to try some of the local specialties, such as trout or barbecue.
Boating: Lake Glenville is a large lake that is perfect for boating. You can rent a boat or bring your own and spend the day exploring the lake.
Fishing: Lake Glenville is home to many different species of fish, including bass, trout, and catfish. Fishing is allowed on the lake, so be sure to bring your fishing gear.
Water sports: You can try your hand at kayaking, paddleboarding, or even water skiing on Lake Glenville.
Hiking: There are several hiking trails in the Lake Glenville area, including the Bear Lake Reserve Trail and the Hurricane Falls Trail.
Picnicking: There are several picnic areas around the lake where you can enjoy a meal with a beautiful view.
Restaurants: Ugly Dog for pub grub and a great beer list (plus pet friendly outdoor space), Cashiers Valley Smokehouse for delicious BBQ, Slab Town Pizza for pizza (also great outdoor space and great for families). For a splurge, try The Library, The Orchard (5 minutes to the house), Winslows Hideaway, or Happs (in Glenville but with a really cool bar and outside area). The Hidden Valley tavern as well as The Fix are also great pubs with really good pub food in Sapphire. For Breakfast, Zookeeper Bistro has great classic American diner food (I love their Western Omelette), and Bucks has great coffee shop vibes with small sandwiches. Las Margaritas has great Mexican and a full bar. Pretty much all of these are within 10-15 minute drive from the home!
Note: Parking is permitted only in front of the cabin or at the gravel area just below the firepit (this area is located on the left side of the road before arriving at our driveway) . The driveway beyond our cabin is owned by the neighbor and is considered private property. Please DO NOT park anywhere past the cabin.
Please note we— like most mountain cabins— are on satellite internet which can be slow and unreliable. If you need access to fast, consistent wifi, Bucks Cafe 10 min from the cabin has excellent coffee and pastries, and a great ambiance for working. If you need to work off wifi from home, please consider another cabin. Thanks!
Please bring your own Keurig Cups
Any and all garage, shed, crawlspace, or maintenance or mechanical areas are off limits to guests. Please do not enter these areas—interior or exterior—and stay away from any areas containing home maintenance products and equipment (we do store some lawncare products on premise but in closed bins, sheds, garages, or plastic trunks). By booking the reservation, you consent to waiving any liability related to accessing the above mentioned off-limits areas. This includes crawl spaces, under decks, or near any outdoor mechanical equipment such as HVAC. If you need assistance with accessing one of these areas, please send us a message first and we will make arrangements. Your cooperation is much appreciated!
4WD vehicles are strongly recommended from December-April

Please always make sure to turn off outside lights as our neighbors have asked us to minimize any light pollution during the night.
Firewood is not provided.
We have an extra guest fee after the 8th person for $40 per night

For Parking:
2 normal-sized cars can park on the pavement in front of the house.
If you have more than 2 cars (for an easier time maneuvering upon driving in and out since it's a little tight the turnaround on the paved at the front), you can park 1 car down below the house on the pea gravel shown in the picture.
Try to keep the cars to the RIGHT
The neighbors above are nice but picky about anyone parking on their property. Please ONLY use the parking in front of house and half of the gravel area down below (the half closest to the house which has the path leading to the Firepit). We have room for 3 cars. Thanks!!
We provide a starter pack of basic necessities, such as toilet paper, trash bags, soap/shampoo, and paper towels.
Our cleaners also usually leave (if applicable) dishwasher tablets/dish soap, coffee, oil/salt/pepper, etc.
We do our best to provide the basics, but please consider that it is really meant for getting you started in for shorter stays. If you need a little extra of any of these items, let us know, and we’ll do our best to assist you!
You have a propane-type grill at this property, feel free to use it at your convenience. However, kindly note that you will be responsible for refilling the propane tank should it run out during your use.
If you want to be sure you will not run out, you may purchase a tank at the nearest hardware store. (Please see your guidebook in the guest portal for the recommended store near your cabin)
You have a wood-burning fireplace and a firepit at the property, please bring your own firewood.
Please use the garbage containers on the outside of the cabin. Please do not leave food and trash on the decks and porches.
Should you have any questions or need anything whatsoever, please do not hesitate to let us know and we will be more than happy to help you.
