With three en-suite primary bedrooms as well as two sofa beds, Peyton’s Hideaway is a great home base for several couples or families who want to enjoy everything the Smoky Mountain area has to offer. Not only is the three-floor log cabin packed with amenities, but it’s also less than two miles from downtown Gatlinburg and only minutes from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. All that, and it’s pet-friendly too!
The serene location makes it easy to forget just how close to attractions, restaurants and shops Peyton’s Hideaway is. When you’re not playing with the kids on the front lawn or exploring the surrounding woods, you can revel in nature’s sights and sounds from the two huge covered decks. You’ll find plenty of log-style rockers, a must for a true Smoky Mountain cabin, and the main-level deck even has a fireplace, ideal for gathering around as you enjoy after-dinner drinks on chilly autumn evenings. Perhaps the only better spot for soaking up nature’s beauty is in the patio’s six-person hot tub while you’re literally soaking in steamy jets of water.
At nearly 3,000 square feet, Peyton’s Hideaway offers plenty of spaces where everyone can gather together, along with nooks where you can slip away for one-on-one chats or private time. With wood-planked floors and walls, a vaulted ceiling, plenty of windows to let in the sunshine, ceiling fans and in the living area, a stone-surround fireplace, the home looks exactly as you’d want a mountain retreat to look.
The open-plan living area on the main floor includes a 47-inch flat-screen TV and lots of plush seating so that everyone can watch a movie together. The adjacent dining table seats six with ease, and there’s room for two more at the breakfast bar, which doubles as the kitchen island. The recently upgraded kitchen features stainless-steel appliances, cookware, tableware and plenty of counter space. The cabin has a charcoal grill on the patio as well, should you have a hankering for home-cooked barbecue.
Downstairs houses the cozy home theater. With just three amply padded cinema-style seats and a 50-inch screen, it lets you enjoy a truly private screening. Also downstairs is a small room with a foosball table. For more fun and games, head to the top floor. Its game room includes a pool table, a card table and another 47-inch flat-screen TV. It’s like having a private after-hours club in your own home.
Each floor has a handsomely furnished primary suite. In addition to a marvelously comfortable king-size bed, each suite includes a 47-inch flat-screen TV, a private bathroom and a ceiling fan. The upstairs suite also features a luxe sitting area with a Jacuzzi and a rocker, and from the bedroom, you can step out directly onto the top deck. A second indoor jetted tub is in the main floor’s en-suite bathroom, and the main floor’s bedroom opens directly onto the main deck.
If you have more guests, the sofas in the living area and the game room open into beds that can each sleep two, so that Peyton’s Hideaway can accommodate 10 overnight guests in all. For added convenience, the cabin has a half-bathroom in addition to the three full bathrooms, plus free Wi-Fi.
The cabin’s greatest convenience of all, however, has to be its location. In just five minutes you can drive to downtown Gatlinburg, home to an aquarium, the Guinness World Records Museum, thrill rides and more. Also nearby are Ober Gatlinburg Amusement Park and Ski Area and the country’s most popular national park. Just slightly farther afield are the delights of Pigeon Forge, from Dollywood to outlet shopping.
Whether you prefer being on the go or relaxing in a low-key way, you’ll love Peyton’s Hideaway. So go ahead and book your stay today. We’re looking forward to seeing you. Please note: Some construction is in the area.

We enjoyed staying in this cabin. Loved sitting on the deck and occasionally got to see a bear stroll by. Easy drive to Gatlinburg parking. All the amenities you need were there. We would definitely stay here again!
Everything was nice and clean. Location was great also

Liked: Cleanliness, location
Disliked: Listing accuracy
We had a wonderful time at Peyton’s Hideaway! The place was spotless and easy to get to. We loved the location and even spotted a bear in the woods behind the house—how cool is that? The VRBO description was a bit off, though. It said it was a 5-minute walk to Anakeesta, but it was actually about 7 minutes by car. And the map pin? Totally inaccurate! We spent almost an hour trying to find an alarm because we got an alarm code, but there wasn’t one in the property. When we messaged the host about it, they couldn’t answer our question and just gave us the code again.
Great cabin, the area was clean and organized. Driveway is really steep but it says on listing that parking is on an incline. Would definitely stay here again!
The house was perfect. However, the listing on VRBO said it was a 2 min walk to Anakeesta, 4 min walk to Ripley's Aquarium and a 12 min walk to the Convention Center. The house is 2.3 miles from downtown Gatlinberg. While it was a lovely home, I booked it because I thought we would be able to walk to town. That was dissapointing.

Beautiful Home! Very Spacious!
Great location, very short drive to downtown Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge and all the attractions. Very comfortable furnishings and lots of room for the family to spread out or gather together in the common rooms. Quiet area on private wooded lot. Kitchen could be better equipped with cookware and utensils/gadgets but it had what was necessary. We really enjoyed our stay and felt very at home in this beautiful, cozy cabin!

close to everything, but in a very quiet and Beautiful!
We will definitely book again. I have a few suggestions but none took away from our stay. Remote control batteries needed to be replaced, instructions to the use of Tvs should be noted and the cleanliness could have more attention! In that, we had a great time.

Great cabin!!
We loved the house. A few small issues -- no mirror in upstairs bathroom and no kitchen towels or dish cloths. Driveway is very steep. But house is very roomy and well laid out. We would book again.

Wonderful stay.
We loved this place so much. It was a great location and had all the amenities one would possibly need. The kitchen was well stocked. The layout was super ideal for our three family stay with children.
Only two points of constructive criticism that I truly hope are addressed to keep this great place wonderful:
-the main couch in the living room is super uncomfortable. We were sitting on the beams of the pull out couch.
-the bed on the main floor needs to be replaced, without doubt.
This place is for sure a repeat visit in my book!

Shelley, we are so delighted to hear you had a wonderful stay with us. We will certainly share your suggestions with the owner. We look forward to a repeat visit on your next trip to the Smokies.
Overall, the cabin was nice and the location was great. It’s close to City Hall, which made it very convenient to use the trolley system into Gatlinburg—one of the main reasons we chose and really liked this location. Our stay would have been even better, but we did run into a few issues. We’re a larger party and planned to rely on the kitchen more, but unfortunately the oven was not working. The stovetop and broil function worked, but the oven itself would not heat at all, which required us to adjust our meal plans. The toaster also had a broken spring and wouldn’t stay down.We enjoyed the indoor fireplace, but the outdoor fireplace was not working, which was a bit of a disappointment. We did notify the hosts about all of these issues during our stay. We may have been the first guests to notice these things were not working and he did respond that these would be checked out. We also had some trouble with linens. We found dirty linens stuffed inside a pull-out couch, which would have made it difficult for housekeeping to know and clean. Because we needed all available linens for our group, we ended up having to purchase detergent and wash linens ourselves the first night. That said, the cabin itself was clean overall, and everything else functioned well. The location really was excellent. Our main disappointment was not being able to use the oven as expected, but aside from that, it was a good stay.

Relaxing Spring Break!
We had a great week at Peyton’s Hideaway. Loved the location. Only 1/2 mile from the grocery store and about 5 minutes from downtown Gatlinburg. The cabin was clean and well laid out - definitely suitable for multiple or large families. The living room couch on the main level needs replaced but there is plenty of other seating. The only two tiny downfalls were 1) we couldn’t get the living room or upstairs bedroom tv to connect to satellite and 2) the shower on the main level has a temp sensor so the water would only get warm. The other showers worked great. Would definitely stay here again!

Cozy yet so much room for all of our family!
We had a great stay at the cabin! Our extended family came up for a few days of fall break and had an excellent time. There was plenty of beds for everyone. Our only complaint was the kitchen. One garbage bag for 4 days, absolutely nothing to use as oven mits, one package of dishwashing detergent and hardly any kitchen utensils. We are a big family and did not plan on eating out for every meal, we had to go to the store many times to stock the cabin with things we felt should have been provided, especially in a cabin accomodating 10 people. The mirror was missing in the upstairs bathroom. The air was extremely cold at night but was burning up midway through the night. It was convenient to gatlinburg and pigeon forge. We had a great time and hope to visit again soon.

Again, thank you for sharing and we look forward to having you stay with us on your next trip to the Smokies, giving us the opportunity to exceed all expectations.
My 4 year old kept saying how cozy it was. It was clean, spacious, and an awesome location to downtown gatlinburg but also close to the cut off road leading to Pigeon Forge making it convenient to avoid traffic just about anywhere we went. Hot tub was great, too!
The driveway was steep and there were a few minor things that the property manager put in maintenance tickets for - none of which impacted our stay overall. The ice maker in the freezer didn’t work and the water line was leaking into the fridge, but there was an ice cube tray, and then one of the upstairs bathroom sinks drained slowly, but there’s a second sink in that bathroom so it didn’t add much of an inconvenience. Again, the property management company was very kind and responsive and said they’re sending maintenance so hopefully these minor items aren’t a problem for the next occupant.
Would gladly stay again.
Fireplace broke
Water leaking through the roof
The door never locked the code didn’t work. The lock was never able to lock. Very scary and stressful to leave the house. This property should be taken off the market.
Toaster was broke
Bathroom door was broke
Lightbulb fixture hanging from the ceiling
Bar stool was broke
At the end of the day this was a huge problem that the door couldn’t lock. I am requesting a refund.

Peyton’s Hideaway 1204
The cabin was dirty, mouse droppings in the silverware drawers. Windows dirty! Floor dirty! There was a pool table that we had been wanting to play but there was only one pool stick, the other ones was broke. The cabin stunk, had to buy a warmer and try and make it smell better. It was cold everywhere except one bedroom upstairs that felt like a sauna. We was the only cabin around us that didn’t have a fire pit with chairs around it. Not enough washcloths and the dryer smelled like it was hot/burning. Could of been a nice place but it was not taken care of or cleaned very good!

Felt like Bait and Switch deal
Only giving 1-star because we couldn’t give a minus score.
We were moved to what was supposed to be another cabin since we were told at last minute that the pipes froze. It wouldn’t have been so bad had it been a cabin that was comparable to what was actually rented. We rented Peyton’s Hideaway but was moved to River Cottage....which is NOT a cabin- it is an OLD, drafty house.
There was not 3 king rooms
There was NO WiFi
There was NO pool table
There was NO foosball table
There was a HOTEL crammed up next to River Cottage
River Cottage was cold all the time in the common areas and sauna hot in the bedrooms.
The gas fireplaces did not even work well.
Some of the Furniture was so worn and old that it looked like somebody had brought it in off the street.
My husband ended up with a bad rash so we don’t know where that came from.
The Code didn’t work when we arrived.
We paid nearly $900 to celebrate my 50th birthday and didn’t get what we paid for and right now Jackson Homes is only willing to give us a 10% refund. So totally unacceptable.

Cynthia, thank you for taking the time to share your review. Your input, as well as all our guest feedback is vitally important as we want all guests expectations to be met upon arrival. Moving a guest from a cabin they had booked to another accommodation is never anything we want to do and is only done in extreme circumstances, as in this case with frozen pipes causing there to be no water. We understand your disappointment and you were compensated more than 10%. Again, thank you for sharing and we look forward to having you stay with us on your next trip to the Smokies, giving us the opportunity to exceed all expectations.
First time staying in this cabin and it was very clean considering I’m all about cleanliness had everything needed for the kitchen and bathrooms. Outside decks on all floors and even saw mama and baby bear Spoke to the manager and they were extremely helpful with the checkin and checkout. Would stay here again that’s for sure thank you for the hospitality it was wonderful
Cabin had some minor issues and we couldn’t get in for an hour after check in time since code didn’t work. All-in-all, wasn’t terrible, but would probably choose a different company next time.
The cabin is well built and well designed. It has a great floor plan for large family get togethers with 3.5 baths and 3 bedrooms and loft sleeping. Unfortunately, it is in great need of investment and maintenance care. In our case, we arrived to a sign that the hot tub was not working and it was never fixed during our stay. The door to the garage would not stay shut and we had to prop a chair under the knob to keep it closed, the dryer knob was broken and would only dry on one setting and when our military soldier went to sit on the side of his bed to retire one evening, his bed collapsed. The maintenance man did come and fix his bed and worked to get us by on the other items, but the cabin is in need of a deep cleaning inside and out and (light fixtures emptied of bugs to improve interior lighting as an example) and all rickety furniture replaced. Our time at the cabin was a thank you celebration for this serviceman and his family for all he has sacrificed for his country. We ended up having to continually improvise due to the cabin’s shortfalls and it wasn’t the experience we had hoped to give him.

Not as promised!
While this is a lovely location, several problems were not handled in a timely manner. The washing machine was broken and repaired after several days on this property. Additionally, the Hot Tub was not operating properly and repaired 2 days before we checked out. Frustrating!
Door code given wouldn't work, dishwasher leaked into basement, bottom rack of dishwasher is bad.Mice in drawer in kitchen. Neither fireplace worked. No towel racks in bathroom.
alot of dust under bed and behind night stand. Driveway is too steep. several lightbulbs were out. upstairs bedroom too hot when downstairs ok in temp. NOT HAPPY AT ALL
