The Space:
Overview is a stand-alone hilltop retreat positioned to make the most of its elevated setting and wide views. Large windows and sliding doors bring the surrounding landscape into the living area and bedroom, while the deck provides an open place to sit outside and take in the sea, valley, and rural outlook.
Inside, the home is comfortable and simply arranged for two guests. The lounge includes relaxed seating and a wood-burning fire, making the property suitable for both summer stays and cooler winter escapes.
The fully equipped kitchen provides everything needed for preparing meals during your stay. The home operates on solar power, allowing it to function independently while still providing the everyday comforts required for a relaxing island getaway.
The bedroom has a king bed and enjoys natural light and views of the surrounding landscape.
Outside, the private deck is well positioned for breakfast, afternoon drinks, or watching the changing light and weather across the island. The remote ridgeline location creates a strong sense of privacy, with no neighbouring properties visible from the home.

Important access information
A four-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive vehicle is required to reach the property. The access road is not suitable for standard two-wheel-drive vehicles.
Minimum Stays: 7 nights from mid December to mid January, 3 nights all holiday weekends, 2 nights at all other times. Pets considered upon application.
Guest Access:
You’ll have the entire property to yourself. The home sits on a private hilltop section with no neighbours and expansive grounds to explore.

The Neighborhood:
Overview sits above some of Waiheke’s most spectacular landscapes, surrounded by native bush, farmland, and wide-open skies. While the home feels remote, you’re only a short drive from the island’s celebrated vineyards, coastal tracks, and golden-sand beaches.
Spend the day exploring local favourites such as Onetangi, Palm Beach, or Oneroa, or head to vineyards like Mudbrick, Stonyridge, Cable Bay, and Tantalus for long, lazy lunches. The Whakanewha Regional Park is also close by, offering beautiful walking trails through wetlands, bush, and shoreline. When you return home, you’ll feel as though you’ve stepped back into your own private world.
Getting Around:
Waiheke Island is 20km long, with most amenities located within the first 10km from the ferry. While buses and taxis operate regularly, this particular property is accessed via a steep, unsealed road and requires a 4WD or all-wheel-drive vehicle.
Once on the island, driving is the easiest way to explore beaches, vineyards, and walking tracks at your own pace. Parking is available at the property.
Other Things to Note:
This is a self-catered holiday home, not a fully catered stay. We provide a starter supply of essentials such as toilet paper, coffee, tea, and milk to help you settle in on arrival. Once these starter items have been used, guests are responsible for purchasing any additional supplies needed during their stay.
For properties with a fireplace, stays between 1 June and 30 September include a starter supply of firewood. Additional firewood can be purchased from local petrol stations, Woolworths, Four Square, and Mitre 10.
Beach towels are provided at properties with an available pool or spa. Guests staying at properties without a pool or spa will need to bring their own beach towels.
Please note: Hairdryers cannot be used as the house is solar powered. Also as the house is solar powered only limited small appliances are available.

Interaction with Guests:
The Stay Waiheke team is available seven days a week from 8.30am to 5pm, with after-hours support provided for urgent matters or emergencies. For medical or property emergencies, like fire please call 111 first.
