About this property

Natural Habitat Guesthouse with hot tub and sauna

Relax in your “Natural Habitat”, a stunning retreat nestled in the fields and forests of Krestova in Crescent Valley. Soothe your soul in the hot tub, gaze at the mountain views or rest awhile in the cedar barrel sauna. This beautiful 8 acre tree farm evokes tranquility, peace and calm in an agri-tourism setting.

The fire pit completes the outdoor healing experience. Unplug and unwind; fast fiber optic WIFI & cell service is a 3 min drive away at the Frog Peak Café.

Thoughtfully curated spaces throughout the property are designed to allow you to fully relax on your own or with friends and family.

O U T D O O R E X P E R I E N C E

In the back outdoor space directly behind the guesthouse, there is a field looking out over Crescent Valley. Connect with nature, look across the valley to spot the waterfall on the distant ridge as you enjoy the 7-person hot tub or have a steam in the electric, round cedar barrel sauna.

There is a 5th wheel dwelling which is sometimes set up on the 8 acre property, although our caretaker keeps to himself and doesn't engage with guests.

This property includes an eight-acre coniferous tree farm. The owners also manage Xylem Silviculture, a forestry company dedicated to maintaining forest ecosystems through forest health and silviculture practices.

The agri-forestry initiative aims to engage and educate visitors on land stewardship and the indigenous conifers under observation on the premises, including lodgepole pine, spruce, fir, cedar, hemlock, and whitebark pine.

This project encompasses monitoring and surveillance techniques implemented on our farm to safeguard the trees' health against diseases such as Fir Beetle, Blister Rust, Gall Rust, and Mountain Pine Beetle. The trees undergo planting, pruning, and thinning processes. Certain trees are descendants of parent trees deliberately preserved on the property for natural seeding.

Additionally, high-altitude whitebark pine trees (5-needle pines), a keystone species vital as a food source for various wildlife (birds, deer, elk, grouse, black and grizzly bears) are undergoing trial planting on the land. These unique trees were procured from a genetic research facility seed lot and are assessed annually by our survey team for their resistance to blister rust, a disease endangering their species.

The home features a beautiful full kitchen with seating for 6 and all basic amenities like spices, oils, and of course, local No 6 coffee! The living room has a smart tv and a sectional couch with a double sized pull-out bed. The large bedroom has a deluxe king-sized bed and down duvet.

There are two comfortable single foam floor mattresses to accommodate extra guests if needed.

The luxurious bathroom features a custom tiled shower and rain shower head, a soaker tub, and heated floors for cozy mornings.

Washer and dryer are included in a separate space within the unit.

This custom residence is fully accessible, (no stairs), with a tiled entryway, and has ample level parking just outside the front door.

If you would like to use the fire pit, fire wood is available at the gas station called Glade Esso, about 10 minutes away, but is usable only when there are not government-issued campfire bans which can occur locally in the dry, summer months.

This is a Kootenay Dream: no hills, steep driveways, or stairs!

Everything about this little gem is perfect. The secluded area, the cleanliness, the lil added touches, the hot tub and fire pit, the comfort of the bed, the books and board games, access to Netflix and the contact with the host.Beautiful and highly recommend

Tranquility

Absolutely amazing place to get away from the craziness of work and noisy city life. My dog had the time of his life exploring through the ferns and forest- literally inhaling nature! Fantastic experience! Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful place with us.

Ski getaway

We loved our stay in the Kootenay! Equidistant from Whitewater and Red Mountain, this VRBO was perfect. Quiet, relaxing, and comfortable. We will be back, and hopefully will make it on a powder cycle!

Perfect getaway

The owner was easy to work with. Property directions were simple to follow. Property looked exactly like the photos. Interior decoration was gorgeous with very relaxing colour tones. Great central location. Very private. Hot tub, sauna, cold plunge, BBQ all worked well and were great amenities. Would highly recommend

Great place to relax anytime of year

This is a fantastic property. Everything was as described, and the place has every detail taken care of. We made use of all of the amenities… hot tub, sauna, and a fancy shower. We also enjoyed a breakfast down the road at the local restaurant which was one of favourites.

Pure Tranquility

This a stunning home away from home, and just what we needed to relax and unwind. The fall colours that surrounded us were unforgettable. Our stay here was truly exceptional. This home is a perfect blend of beauty and comfort, with every detail thoughtfully curated. The stunning surroundings and peaceful atmosphere made it a sanctuary we’ll never forget. Thank you for creating such a special place—it’s a retreat we’ll fondly thinking if until we can return someday.

Amazing hideout!

My wife and I found this place when looking for a quiet getaway for our anniversary. This property was heavenly! It was exactly what we wanted -a quiet, forest feeling retreat while still feeling luxurious. The owner puts lots of little touches into the decor, like books, extra blankets etc. The cafe down the road was delicious, and we left feeling incredibly well rested and eager to return.

Stunning home, but our stay raised health, functionality, privacy, and response-time concerns. We booked for the hot tub and electric sauna—key features—but neither worked safely or as advertised. On arrival the hot tub water was green/grey, opaque, and smelled non-chlorinated; you couldn’t see the side jets. We messaged the host immediately with photos via VRBO, then texted both numbers and left a voicemail. No reply for 18 hours, until a co-host responded. VRBO confirmed there was no app issue.A technician arrived and voiced serious concern about water quality. Despite chlorine pucks in the floater, filtration looked long-neglected and there was effectively no chlorine residual—unsanitary. We’d been told the tub was “shocked” the day before; the tech said the water state made that impossible. After a full drain, filter/intake work, refill, and sanitation (3 hours), we were told the tub needed 24 hours before safe use—i.e., not until the last night. The barrel sauna (Harvia 3.5 kW) underperformed: after 1.5 hours the rocks barely produced warm steam, only one row of the heating elements actually works, and drafts through the floorboards kept it chilly.Privacy concern: one exterior camera appears to have line of sight to a bathroom window with no blind. The house is well-appointed, but the core amenities we booked for were unusable or unsafe, and communication lagged. Please improve hot-tub maintenance, repair the sauna, add a bathroom blind, and respond faster to guests
