About this property
Delightful 2bdrm Church w/Incredible Water View!
This memorable stay is anything but ordinary. Originally a historic country church, The Woodville Church has been thoughtfully renovated into a cozy and welcoming getaway while still keeping its original charm and character. Overlooking the beautiful Bay of Quinte and located just outside of Picton, it’s the perfect place to slow down, unwind, and experience everything Prince Edward County has to offer.
The space features charming details, beautiful views, a large yard, spacious deck, and outdoor fire pit for relaxing evenings under the stars. Inside, you’ll find all the comforts of home with a warm, laidback feel throughout. The church still embraces its country roots with original quirks like squeaky floors and doors that add to its unique personality.
The home includes: • Two bedrooms with queen beds • Pullout couch available for additional guests • Fully equipped kitchen and living space • Large outdoor space to enjoy morning coffee, sunrises, or a bonfire after a day exploring nearby wineries, breweries, beaches, and shops
Please note there is no direct water access through the property.
Guests have full private access to the church through self check-in with lockbox entry. A unique key code will be provided prior to arrival.
Out of respect for neighbouring properties and safety, guests must remain within the fenced yard and respect all no trespassing signage. Garage and waterfront access are not included with the rental.
As this is a country property, guests may encounter local wildlife and seasonal insects, including ticks common to Prince Edward County. We recommend checking pets and clothing after spending time in grassy or wooded areas.
The church is located directly off Highway 49, which can be busy outside, though road noise is minimal indoors. Please keep this in mind if travelling with small children or pets.
Small dogs are welcome but must be registered at the time of booking. Unregistered pets may result in additional charges.
We’re happy to offer: • 10% off stays longer than 7 days

Great location close to Picton. You get to enjoy the beautiful view with a morning tea or coffee or with a BBQ or bonfire. Kitchen is well equipped if you like cooking. Cheri made us feel welcome and was super helpful. The road is a bit loud because people drive by at high speed but not it's not an issue at night, just be careful with your dog or kids. We would love to come again!
Excellent home base for a getaway in PEC. The converted church is very clean and has a well stocked kitchen and comfy beds. It has such a great vibe with fun and eclectic decor. We really enjoyed our stay!
It was great to stay in this converted church for a long weekend. It was quite spacious and clean with an interesting nun theme. The location midway between Ottawa and Toronto was very practical for our little group. It is also well placed to explore the County. The church is close to the highway, but I was pleasantly surprised how little traffic sounds we heard. We would love to be back one day.
Charming 1903 church with careful updates and additions. The upholstered seating and beds are modern and comfortable and most of the other furniture is antique for a nice blend. Kitchen is extremely well equipped compared to other places I've rented. Everything was clean, and well stocked, nice bathroom supplies and plush towels. We had a really great few days exploring Prince Edward County. Thank you to Cheri and Steve for allowing others to enjoy your charming place.
Spacious, clean, and well-appointed converted church about 10 minutes from Picton. Nice living area, really cozy back room with a water view, and roomy bedrooms with very comfortable beds. Easy checkin and detailed instructions/notes re: the house and area. Really enjoyed our stay and would recommend.
This lovely, unique and historic little church was so cozy and welcoming! A perfect halfway point between Ottawa and Toronto, to be able to meet up with family - we were looking for the perfect getaway. Enjoyable and relaxing and so close to everything - we were able to get some snowshoeing done every day! The kitchen was well equipped and the space was so open and beautiful! Cheri is so friendly and responsive!! This place is a unique experience and one we highly recommend. Looking forward to our next stay! Merci!
The home is lovely. It’s exactly as shown in the pictures. Well appointed and has all the amenities needed. Location was close to downtown picton and a short drive to some wineries, cideries and breweries.
We spent the weekend with friends and the location was perfect! We enjoyed the house and property overlooking the lake. Everything you could need was available in the house and the property owners were very quick to reply to questions we had before available! Would definitely recommend and stay again.
Pure bliss, morning coffee at sunrise on the water, adventures in the day and dinner and board games at night. All the amenities you need or want. Spacious, comfortable, lots of natural light. I give this Vrbo 150%!!
The property is beautiful on the water with lots of great amenities and close to lots of attractions in the area. Unfortunately we found ticks and lots of bugs inside the property which put a damper on our trip and were told this was quite common for the area so be aware if travelling with kids and/or dogs. It was a bit disappointing considering the high cleaning fee.

Thanks for your review. It is a rural property and leaving the door open for 15minutes on your arrival open does allow bugs to fly into the home. Bringing a large hairy dog (not disclosed on your listing - nor allowed in the home) onto a large rural property in Ontario’s definitely is a tick magnet. Unfortunately, we cannot control the bugs in the spring in Ontario.
We came to PEC for an annual two night girls’ getaway and were so pleasantly impressed by this adorable little church house. It is decorated beautifully in a fun eclectic style mixing old and new. There’s lots of space, each bedroom is comfortable, the kitchen is filled with everything you might need, the two living areas are lovely. If you’re a light sleeper, you could be bothered by the road noise as the church is on a busy loud main road. It didn’t keep us awake (earplugs!) and it didn’t detract from the charm of the place. We highly recommended a stay here.
My husband, son and I stayed here while visiting our daughter at University. The church conversion was done so beautifully, it feels like a boutique hotel. The kitchen is very well stocked. On night one we enjoyed the record player and some wine. In the morning we had a cup of coffee in the backyard while watching the ice and snow melt away over the lake. Although near the road we were not bothered as the bedrooms are on the other side. The sleeping areas are well separated from each other & the main area, which I would have appreciated back when the kids were young. We had a great lunch at Parsons just done the road, then went to Picton to pick up food at Agrarian and Ralph's to make at the house. We hope to return next winter!

About the host
Hosted by Cheri
Steve and Cheri fell in love with life in Picton and Prince Edward County for the same reason so many people do, it forces you to slow down. Between the wineries, little shops, water views, quiet roads, and laidback energy, there’s just something about “The County” that instantly feels relaxing.
At The Woodville Church, we wanted to create a space that feels cozy, welcoming, and peaceful. This renovated historic church blends character and charm with all the comforts of home. Whether you’re sitting by the firepit, enjoying the views of the Bay of Quinte, or heading out for a day exploring wineries and breweries, it’s the kind of place that makes you exhale a little deeper.
We truly love sharing this special little corner of Prince Edward County with guests and hope you feel as relaxed here as we always do.
Why they chose this property
We loved the mix of beautiful scenery, wineries, beaches, amazing food, and small town charm, but also how welcoming and unpretentious “The County” feels. It has this laidback energy that’s hard to explain until you experience it yourself.
When we found The Woodville Church, it just felt right. A historic old church with so much character, surrounded by nature and close to everything we love about the area. Renovating it into a cozy getaway where others could come relax, reconnect, and enjoy County life felt like the perfect fit for us.
What makes this property unique
What makes The Woodville Church so unique is that it’s not just a rental property, it’s an experience. Originally built as a historic church, the space still carries so much of its original character and charm while being thoughtfully renovated with all the comforts of home.
