Had a great time! The cottage was beautiful and clean. Rose got back to us quickly with any questions we had. Loved all the different areas where we could sit and relax. Fishing off the dock was pretty good. Hope to go back next year.

I can tell you that we were happily surprised at the size and quality of the property. The property was in excellent shape and was very clean. The beds were great. We are so used to getting old beds in hotels and air B&B's, but these beds were excellent. All of the appliances were top quality and the number of decks (with all their marvelous views) made it a pleasure to sit outside. If anything, the photos didn't do it justice. We didn't realize how nice the deck area near the dock was from the photos but it ended up being our favourite place to relax. Rose and Ross answered all our questions quickly. Another surprise was that even though you feel like you are away from the crowded city, you are only a 20 minute drive from Peterborough if you need to get something. We highly recommend this property.

Perfect setting for our family getaway

The property was amazing for our family getaway of 6 adults. It had everything we needed from a comfort and activity standpoint. It had all of the amenities in the bathrooms and kitchen. The cottage was in a quiet place and very private. The atmosphere was relaxing. The views from the balconies (yes more than one) were stunning. The cottage was located a short drive to the Lakefield and not too far from Peterborough. Everyone enjoyed the quiet lake and we all liked the canoe and kayaks. It also had a good selection of life jacket sizes. We would definitely stay again.

Gorgeous peaceful property

Beautiful home, love the chalet style decoration with lots of space for everyone to be together comfortably. We were 8 adults celebrating a birthday, just wanting to chill out and swim, it was perfect for us. The kitchen was well appointed, love the espresso machine, the fridge with the bottle chilling drawer and the pantry loaded with condiemnts, etc. The beds were suer comfy and the stereo system with the turntable was a real plus. Best part is the lower deck overlooking the dock and the lake. There was a huge sectional and long chairs, ample room for everyone. Swimming was a blast, we didn’t use the canoe but the kayaks were great. The host was very accommodating and helpful with any of our requests. Excellent communication. 5 star property and a five star stay.

Beyond Expectations! Better than a hotel! This is not a cottage lol it’s a mansion!Absolutely beautiful. We totally enjoyed our stay despite the extreme heat and poor air quality caused by the Ontario forest fires. Plenty to do indoors, games, puzzles, relaxing on one of the many balconies with spectacular lake views reading a book and a pool player’s dream table. The pool table was in mint condition with excellent pool cues. There is also a reading nook in the attic off the master bedroom that is so cool. So many bedrooms to choose from. Place is big enough for 3 or 4 couples. And the decor, omg don’t even get me started, was soooo beautiful!!Fishing off the dock was excellent, especially for little ones. My granddaughter caught her first fish and then was hooked lol. Can’t say enough good things about this place and would highly recommend. Rose was an absolute perfect hostess and so easy to communicate with. Looking forward to our next stay

I grew up about an hour from the cottage so I’m familiar with the area. I enjoy travelling, sewing, playing piano, and people.

Why they chose this property

I chose this neighborhood for the same reason that my husband did. We fell in love with the property.

What makes this property unique

The cottage is the last one on the lane. The trees that border it gives us a sense of being alone. You can sit on one of the balconies and birdwatch, or listen to the loons. If you need more excitement there is a local pub or a 10 minute drive and you will be in the next town. The city of Peterborough is 20 minutes away.
