We enjoyed our stay so much!! Loved the location it was close to everything! We really loved the stream in the back and the hot tub was a huge plus after being at the ski resorts all day! The only advise to the owner I would give is the house needs more towels for guest with the hot tub we had to keep washing towels and eventually bought a few so we can have enough but honestly that was very minor for our amazing trip!! We will definitely be back
This was a fantastic property for our family of five, having snowtubing plans at Hawksnest. We enjoyed having access to the creek behind the house, several family-friendly board games in the living room, the use of kitchen appliances and tools, a washer and dryer, and the very comfortable beds. It was just the right space for us to enjoy with close access to great restaurants in Banner Elk. We are looking forward to hopefully staying again!
We loved everything about this house. The creek is amazing and the kids had a blast playing it in. The rocking chairs on the porch were perfect! We will definitely stay here again!
I have stayed at this house now, two times. I specifically like to stay there because of the location in seven Devils, the community park area, and the beautiful creek behind the house. The house has always been clean and neat. I do feel like it could do with a little updating. And it would be nice to have a few more things xtras in the kitchen and bathrooms. my main complaint is that both times I have stayed there. The gas fireplace does not work. In my mind that’s a big piece of being cozy in the evenings drinking a glass of wine with the fire in the fireplace going. If I were to stay there again, I would need to be assured that the fireplace has been updated or changed to a wood fireplace. Also, I feel it would be nice to have firewood available for the small fire pit that is outside.
The home has a great location between Boone and Banner Elk. Gorgeous yard with a creek for all to enjoy. The owner is a great communicator with quick response times.
My husband, two teenagers, and I really enjoyed this beautiful, clean, perfectly located home just a few minutes from Hawksnest, where we went snow tubing. The setting is gorgeous with mountain views and a creek running through the backyard. Hot tub was wonderful! Wish we could have stayed longer...
The sound of the water running in the creek on the back side of the house was beautiful to see and hear. We enjoyed our stay here. However, if you book during the cold months, I would recommend having chains or a four wheel drive vehicle, or you may get stuck in the cabin.
This property was great for a family with school age children. We loved the creek behind the home. The location is very central and nice that it’s not all the way up the mountain. The property was clean and check-in was easy. It is not the most updated property in the bathrooms/kitchen, but was fine for what is needed. Would highly recommend and would stay here again.
We were very impressed with how clean and prepared the home was. The kitchen was well equipped, the beds were comfortable, plenty of space for our family of 6. The hot tub was clean and the creek in the back was beautiful. The home is in a neighborhood, but it maintains its privacy. The home is ideally located with easy travel into Banner Elk, Grandfather Mountain, and anything else you’d want to do in the area. Can’t wait to stay again.
The house is wonderful. Open the door to the back porch and sounds of the creek & waterfalls fill the air. We were just about equal distances from Boone & Banner Elk with an easy drive in either direction. Host communication was great! Definitely plan returning to this oasis.
Great fun. Wish we had longer to stay! Very organized and loved the labeling of the switches! Only compliant is master bath shower head on left doesn’t ever get hot. We just used the other side.
We're from Florida and my 5 yo daughter had been asking to see snow for years. This place was beautiful, waking up to sit on the back porch, while listening to the falls in the back yard, with a blanket and coffee in hand, while my daughter still slept was my favorite part. The neighborhood was quite, the place was very clean and we had a wonderful visit. We went to Hawksnest Snow Tubing & Zipline just up the mountain, checked out Sugar Mountain, drove to downtown Boone... the whole visit did not disappoint. I would definitely recommend staying here. Thank you so much for an amazing visit!
Property was nice . We were a little disappointed that the pictures show otter falls and they are not there. Only a stream in the back. The fireplace was not working. The owner was very responsive and will
Have it taken care of I’m sure. Overall a good visit .
We had a wonderful stay at this property. Karen was so helpful with several questions we had before our stay, and the house was spotless and the perfect size for our family of four. Our boys loved playing in the creek. There was plenty of water and a series of cascading waterfalls, although we had a lot of rain the prior week so that probably helped. It was also extremely helpful to have things like paper towels, hand soap, dish soap, towels, etc. because we have usually had to bring those items to previous VRBOs. Although it is on a residential street, we had plenty of privacy in the backyard. Thanks so much for a great stay!
It was a good stay and nice place overall. But there were some issues that were definitely disappointing with the amount of money that we spent on this rental. The thermostat is out of date and did not work properly, the smoke alarm batteries were bad so that was chirping, the fireplace did not seem to work, and the hot tub was somewhat run down. Additionally, while I was cleaning up from us leaving, I found a prior guest’s underwear underneath one of the kids beds, which made me feel that the cleaning people are not the most thorough.
