Such a great little haven!

I needed a quiet, safe place to stay while I had some business in Belgrade. This was such a sweet little spot, with great cove access, amd the bedroom had a great view of the water. This is a small, simple place that was well-appointed and absolutely spotless- a perfect hideaway!

The rental unit was clean and appropriately furnished, with just the right amount of Maine-style quirkiness regarding layout. It was a convenient location for exploring the nearby surrounding area.

Very clean and comfortable. Lakefront difficult yo get to as steeper than I thought it would be. Also, could use another light in living room so can read. Other than that, everything great.

Things that should be done

Bed should be raised off floor. Dangerous to have throw rug in bedroom. Need More dish towels. More outside lights. Very dark at night.

We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:-The bed height has worked well for many guests, but we understand everyone has different preferences.-There are motion-sensor lights outside, and more will be added to improve visibility at night.-The unit is stocked with three rolls of paper towels, but we’re happy to provide additional dish towels if guests request them during their stay.Thank you for sharing your review. Your feedback assists us in understanding our guests' perspectives and improving wherever possible.

Not as expected

The place was smaller than we expected both units had many issues. This caused the stay to be less then desirable. The owner did communicate well. We did move to another unit but this was again less then desirable.

When you mentioned a concern with the toilet in Unit A, we immediately offered the use of the bathroom in Unit B to make sure you were comfortable. Our intention was only to be helpful and accommodating. We also strive to keep our listing accurate with details on the square footage and layout, so guests can make informed choices that best fit their needs.

Nice enough, clean spaces, linens, towels etc. There were dishes in the cabinet with puddles of water on them, a few had old pizza sauce on them. The checkout instructions say the guest is responsible for cleaning the dishes. There was a slight musty smell smell on the first floor. The space would really benefit from an inexpensive ozone generator. The drains did a lot of gurgling while we were there. On the morning of our last day the toilet clogged, and the kitchen sink drain got very slow. I plunged the toilet repeatedly, no effect. It seems there is a clog further down the drain pipe.One other note- from the photos we thought the bathroom and bedroom were on the same floor. They are not. None of those things were horrible (well, maybe the toilet but we were leaving) and we enjoyed our stay, which was to see Trombone Shorty just down the road at Bowl in the Pines. We also enjoyed kayaking and paddleboarding on the lake which was really beautiful.
