Little Gem in Florence

Cristina was great and thought of most everything. She even had coffee choices and sweet breads for us. The AC was solid and the location perfect.

amazing spot for family to stay in florence

Maria was so great to work with the whole time we were here! The house was stocked with snacks, coffee, and wine upon arrival and she promptly met us for checkin and a tour of the house. Very comfortably sleeps family of 4. Easy access to bus stops for getting anywhere you want to go in Florence quick and easy.

Perfect Stay in Florence!

We were very happy with our stay at House of Gelsomino and Nespolo, it was a charming apartment with all of the necessities and many extras! We were in a walkable neighborhood to many bars, shops and restaurants. Our hostess was absolutely fantastic! She made us feel right at home and responded right away with any questions we had. All of the restaurants she recommended were fantastic, and within walking distance. We had 4 adults and there was plenty of space for a comfortable stay. Highly recommend this apartment!

Beautiful Florence

Florence was a treat to explore after staying in Rome for 4 days. Christina was a terrific host and catered to our every need. The bus routes were taking a little different route because of construction but she gave us a good heads-up. The apartment is decorated so nicely with a French flair. The bathroom facilities were so nice with a very large shower. Couldn’t have been happier with our stay.

Will Return!

Booking process very easy. Host provided excellent precheck in directions to location. Upon arrival she met us and walked us thru the property throughly explaining how everything worked. Also provided excellent directions to local shopping and bus services. We were afraid to let you know how terrific our stay was for fear everyone will want to stay here and we won’t be able to get back in! This is like a home away from home!

Beautiful Place to Stay

Our family of four (two adults and two teens) had a lovely stay in Florence at Christina's property. The place was clean and spacious, with everything imaginable to make us comfortable. From the lavender soap and body wash, to the coffee/tea/pastry selections, to the extra phone chargers in each room, Christina made sure our stay would be wonderful. She met us at the property and answered every question we had, giving us so much helpful information about the area. My favorite part of the property was the wonderful collection of artwork in the living room. I would absolutely recommend this property, and would look forward to staying here again in the future!

Cristina was a fabulous host, meeting us on our delayed arrival and shared a full brief of the spotless apartment! The host provided tea, coffee and basics to help our stay. Thank you. The apartment is secure (inc parking) and well located for Florence, we walked or caught bus to town and local bus up to Piazzale Michelangelo. Cristina also recommended local restaurant “Il Barrino”, and what a fabulous Italian restaurant this was!!!! Departure just as easy as arrival. We would recommend staying here.

LOVELY APARTMENT

The apartment was clean and well stocked with kitchen and bathroom accessories and the beds were comfortable. Cristina, our host, was charming and attentive and went to great lengths to explain how everything worked and provided excellent information regarding places to visit, restaurants and the public transport network. Thankfully she spoke excellent English !The living room area was a little cramped but adequate and the outside area didn't get much sun, but I can imagine in the later Spring and Summer it would look beautiful as Cristina has planted Jasmine and other climbers along with many other plants.It is worth mentioning that the apartment is at least 2 miles from the centre, we walked every day but buses are available.I would have no hesitation in recommending the Home of Jasmine to fellow travellers.

Lovely Apartment

The apartment was cozy and comfortable, and the garden was a beautiful spot for a cup of coffee or glass of wine. Cristina met us when we arrived in a taxi, and gave us all kinds of info about the apartment itself and about transportation options. The apartment was in a nice location away from the tourist areas, so we got to experience the local culture a bit more, but it was an easy bus ride to the main attractions. There are two bus lines within a short walking distance from the apartment. I was able to message Cristina later with questions about the bus system, and she responded immediately. She even booked our taxi for our return trip to the airport! I would highly recommend this apartment.

Absolutely Perfect!

Apartment location is in the center of the city of Florence, but you would never know it. It is very quiet with a private patio (garden) and gated parking. Very safe and secure. Apartment was clean and comfortable. Host Cristina was lovely and accommodating to all our needs and questions. Apartment is spacious and homey; plenty of room for the four of us and room to spread out when we needed our own space. Easy walking distance to most points of interest in the city. We took day trips to Pisa, Lucca and Bologna--all within easy reach by car. Our favorite restaurant was the local Coop--a quick walk around the corner from apartment. Many other cafes and restaurants nearby as well. Perfect apartment + lovely and accommodating host = fabulous Italy vacation!

Exceeded expectations!

Our experience mirrors those of others who have given high ratings. Cristina is a very thoughtful host, and the apartment is in a good location and comfortable. It is all on one level except for a small step in the bathroom. One of the most helpful things Cristina did was to point out on a map where the two closest bus lines stopped and assure us that the bus takes credit cards. We stayed 9 nights and took the bus only seven times -- Florence is a compact, walkable, and lovely city. Cristina also showed us where to find a very good grocery store just a short walk away and she provided a couple of sturdy, waterproof shopping bags. Her garden is varied, interesting and beautiful. She is very responsive and glad to help with any questions. We will definitely stay there again on our next trip to Florence!

Excellent, plenty of room and feels like home

Maria Cristina was fabulous. Met us upon arrival. Showed us how to navigate the local area. Close to bus which is perfect way to travel Florence besides walking. Walk along river 20 to city center. Also 20 min thru to town. Host took extra care to make sure we had all we needed. Even a Christmas tree for us. Espresso machine, espresso, tea, breakfast items. The kitchen had all we needed. Bedrooms bright and clean, on opposite ends of apartment so great privacy. Bed and bedding very cozy. This was a real treat and we felt very well taken care of with plenty of privacy. You will love this place. Thank you Maria Cristina.

Cozy Apartment / Great Location in Florence

My wife, two teenage kids and I stayed at this apartment just outside of the city center and found it perferct for exploring Florence and the Tuscan countryside. We selected this property based primarily on the availability of private parking for our rental car, and on the excellent guest reviews. We concur with previous guests that the apratment is certainly cozy and looks nicer in real life than in the photos. There are high ceilings that make the space seem generous. We appreciated the stocked kitchen as we prepared several meals at home over the course of our stay, and the powerful a/c was a life saver during the 36 degree daily average temperature. We walked to center town daily which took us approximaty 15 minutes. Our host Christina was lovely and made us feel very welcome. We would stay here again and certainly recommend the apartment to anyone looking to spend time in this beautiful city. Many thanks!

What an amazing property. The check in was so easy. Signora Christina was waiting for us, guided us in and gave us a full overview of the property, keys etc. She was even kind enough to have provided maps with specific locations (to visit, eat, etc). In one word everything was AMAZING. We had lots of very useful communication before the trip.Signora Chrisitna was always on hand to help but always respected our privacy. It is a beautiful home that we stayed in with everything you need. It is a home from home. It is in a quiet residential neighbourhood. There is a great ice cream shop about a 2 minute walk away (Sinfonia de Gelato). Handy for no 6 & 14 buses into town (bus stops literally less than a 2 min walk from the property making it very easy to get to/from the centre. There are many great restuarants nearby (La Luna, Il Barrino for example) that offer great Italian food at reasonable prices. Signora Christina had some basic essentials (milk, water, butter, coffee etc) ready for us upon arrival. My children especially loved the yummy treat that you left for them in the freezer!We had an issue with a taxi being cancelled twice as we were going to the Boboli Gardens. Signora Christina helped and we had a taxi in less than 5 minutes. She was gracious enough to book us a taxi to the airport for our return journey.All in all, it is a beautiful property, in a beautiful location and with a a beautiful lady who is always on hand to help.Grazie mille, Signora Christina

Absolutely Wonderful!

First I would like to say that our host Maria Christina was amazing! She was always available if needed and extremely helpful with providing information around our neighborhood and within the city of Florence. She went out of her way to insure our stay was as pleasant as can be. She also offered to help with our taxi service upon our departure in which we were very grateful for. I can't say enough good things about our host. We chose to stay here because it was outside the center of the busy touristy section of Florence. The neighborhood is quiet and the apartment is lovely, well equipted and comfortable. It is tucked away in a beautiful private first floor section in the back of the apartment building which we enjoyed. Our host was very helpful with the bus route into and back from the center of Florence which was easy to navigate but there were many times we chose to walk into Florence which took us about 25 min down a lovely street with restaurants and local shops. We would not hesitate to stay here again upon our next trip to Florence and want to say THANK YOU to Maria Christina for her hospitality.

At home in Florence

This lovely apartment suited our needs perfectly. It is far enough from the centre of town to be a good refuge from the crowds who (justifiably) surround the most popular attractions, yet easily accessible to the Arno riverside, and a 20-minute walk from Santa Crocce. If you like, there are two bus routes that will take you into the heart of Florence in minutes. There are groceries and cafes within easy walking distance. The facilities of the apartment are complete, and Maria Cristina shows you into the house gracefully and with delightful good humour. Note the collection of paintings and art objects that she has gathered (or painted herself). There is a certain rustic charm to this property; this is not your glaring white and stainless steel aesthetic, but it feels homey and sweet to this Canadian couple's taste. There is room to sleep four (a double and two singles), and you can dine al fresco on the patio or in the kitchen. We really enjoyed our stay, and would happily stay there again. Cristina is a super host.

Un magnifique séjour

María Cristina, la propriétaire, a été vraiment gentille avec nous, elles nous a conseillé des restaurants, aidé avec le transport public et répondu à toutes nos questions. L'appartement est complètement équipé et à notre arrivée on a reçu une bouteille de vin et des viennoiseries pour le petit déjeuner :) La clim est un point très fort de l'appartement, car nous avons voyagé en juillet et il faisait très chaud et humide à l'extérieur. L'appartement est situé à une petite demie heure à pied, mais très bien communiqué en bus. En définitive, un excellent séjour dans une ville incroyable!

Das Objekt und die Vermieterin sind ein super Paar :-) die Lage und das Objekt waren einfach ideal . Man konnten alles zu Fuß machen und das Auto stand sicher im abgeschlossenen Parkplatz. Maria Cristina ist eine warmherzige und hilfsbereite Gastgeberin. Als wir ankamen war für Frühstück alles im Kühlschrank. Liebevoller Service. Kommen sehr gerne wieder.

Great stay at Cristina's place. Very warm welcome by Mrs. Cristina, incl. wine&chocolate, thanks again. Apartment is fully equipped and really everything you need is available. Very nice bedrooms with good beds , wonderful decoration + enough storage place. Nice garden place outside to sit after a long walking tour through Florence. Good connections by bus (no. 14 / 4minute walk from apartment)to the city center. Nice shops + restaurants in direct proximity. We'll be back for sure!
