Lovely villa but not what it appears.

On first look the villa is everything that it appears. Clean and spacious although the kitchen is small. The villa does not have four air conditioned bedrooms which is stated in the description, it has three. The fourth room is a un ventilated basement room with two windows so high you cannot reach them and if opened would be ground level, a door but this would be below ground level. The jacuzzi bath in the master en-suite did not work and when filled it leaked. A few maintenance issues e.g. door handles loose and shower fixings missing, pool light not working. Pool well maintained and cleaned Regularly. Gardens well maintained. The villa owner popped by most days and the welcome pack of fruit was a lovely touch, thank you. Overall our stay was good but the initial problem of the air conditioning caused problems with the guests as air conditioning was a must for all guests and the main reason we booked this villa.

Leuk maar wel gedateerd

Mooie ruime villa, maar het sanitair is wel verouderd, het ligbad nodigde niet echt uit tot gebruik. Het zwambad was lekker, af en toe zit de boer aan de overkant op een stoel recht tegenover de poort naar het zwembad, dat was wel een beetje raar. De onderhoudsman komt elke dag even naar het zwembad kijken, maar spreekt geen woord Engels. De locatie is prima, mooi uitzicht en nog geen 10 minuten rijden van een lange straat met restaurants en winkeltjes en binnen 20 minuten sta je midden in Rethymnon. Het laatste stuk naar de villa is wel vrij stijl met scherpe bochten.

Perfect for a tranquil break and relaxation. I liked the area and the views were appreciative. Villa Callistemon was perfect with absolutely no issues. It was spotlessly clean & well presented. Bedrooms are a good size, with plenty of storage space. Nice spacious outside area with garden, private pool, and terrace. Villa is in a very peaceful and remote location only a 10-minute car trip from the bustling center of Rethymno which really comes alive each evening, with a huge choice of restaurants shops, supermarkets, and entertainment. We had a nice holiday there and we will be returning again. Much gratitude to everyone that helped book and look after us before and during our stay.

We spend our holidays in this house for several years (sometimes 2 times per year). Its every time like coming home. We love the house (in- and outside) and the location. There is no noise, and within 5 min short drive, you are at the beaches with all the shops and restaurants. Platanes or Adele beach is a great place, almost all the time we were outside exploring the area and enjoyed the tasty food at the local restaurants. You have to try the Greek cuisine while you are there. Its the perfect place for a relaxed holiday. WE WILL COME BACK!

The holidays were great, the weather was wonderful, the food was delicious. The property manager Mr. Meno of the villa arranged a trip for us to Santorini and helped with all the information about Crete. We traveled a lot and just stayed and spent the evening in the villa. For our company of 8 people, this is not the first villa we have visited and I can compare that they all look similar after a while and require a bit of repair. I think we will return to Crete. Thanks to Agni travel for postponing last years villa booking to this year due to the situation in Covid-19. B.R. Raimondas

Family Fortnight in Crete

Lovely rural villa. Beautiful views well maintained. Cleaned with fresh bedding every four days which was excellent. Friendly owner, who called daily to check everything was okay. He even brought fresh bread from the local bakery. Lovely gardens and we used both the bbq and pizza oven. Week situated for the local town where we found an array of supermarkets, shops, tavernas and restaurants. Will be visiting again.
