We absolutely loved our stay! The house is comfortable, welcoming, and well stocked. The location was great with amazing views from all of the rooms. We enjoyed fishing and kayaking right off the back of the property. The house was just a short walk to a beautiful section of the beach. Being able to bring our dog was an added bonus.

We absolutely loved the property and only had one issue. The mattress in the bedroom with the queen bed and facing the marsh was very soiled. There was a mattress cover but it was so bad to us that neither one of us could sleep on it. Just need a nee mattress. I would givr everything else 5 stars.

We stayed at Aloha for a few days. We really enjoyed the area and activities at the house. We were able to fish off the dock, go kayaking on the marsh, and go biking in the neighborhood and on the beach. There were a couple of fat tire bikes that my son loved! Also, there were beach toys, boogie boards, fishing poles, several adult bikes, beach games and a beach wagon. The beach is only a couple of blocks away so it made for an easy walk. I would recommend visiting the beach in the evening to see how much the water rises with the tide and the kids loved playing in the pools of water! The house is in decent condition and worked for us. The master shower was a little tight. I wish the linens were included in the rental but you have to pay extra to rent bed sheets and bath towels. The location is within 10 minutes of grocery stores, restaurants, ice cream shops, etc. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.

Great experience

We had a great time in this cozy little house. It had everything we needed and a little more. Although most of the bikes had flat tires there were still two for the kids to ride on. I would also suggest bringing some of your own beach chairs because some of the ones in the building are old and might break if you sit in them like one did with me. But overall it was a great place great neighborhood easy walk to the beach and Great inlet view.

Great experience

Clean, quaint, and great location. We had a mix up and locked ourselves out and in no time the office had another set of keys. Great experience overall 10/10 would rent here again!

Quick Get Away

Excellent location. All required amenities were available in the house and the decks were great for watching the sunrise. Was a little surprised there was no paper towels, trash bags, or even an extra roll of TP available so make sure you bring your own. Overall a great place to stay!

Clean and laid back!

Very clean! Perfect for a weekend or even a week! The house had everything we needed to enjoy a quiet relaxing weekend away! We cooked and even rode bikes down to the pier! We will book again, hopefully sooner than later!!

Perfect place to stay on Oak Island!

Overlooking the intercoastal waterway, only 2 blocks from the beach! The neighborhood was quiet and dog friendly. Coffee table big enough for our puzzles. Porches to watch sunrises and sunsets. Who could ask for anything more?

House needs upgrades and thorough cleaning

Cooking pans were badly rusted, there are roof leak ceiling spots, one bed badly creaks, windows were dirty (salt build-up), some bug infestation, only one kayak despite advertised two, one window blind missing a slat, air filter had a lot of dust build-up, kitchen sink cold water faucet needs adjustment or water will be wasted, internet didn't work, washer broke but management sent repair man immediately, washer-dryer set is at least 30 years old (according to repair man), and there are enough beds for six people, not eight (as advertised)

My new favorite place

After a little hiccup when we arrived on Sunday, everything was well above expectations. Our Molly enjoyed being able to roam on the gated decks. Our adult children loved the fishing from the dock. We spent plenty of time enjoying the sunrises and sunsets from the decks. Our host was always prompt in answering any questions that I had before our trip and during. We can’t wait to come back!

Perfect Off Season Retreat

Aloha had all the amenities of home. We like to cook and the kitchen had everything we needed. Additionally, the proximity to Southport and other Strand beaches allowed us to explore the coast.

Basic Items Missing

My overall stay was very good because I was with family. The unit is also nicely located close to the beach and was generally clean. However, I was very disappointed in all the missing items which are normally included with a stay. There were no wash cloths/bath towels, paper towels, toilet paper, dishwashing liquid, or soft soap to wash your hands. I elected to bring my own bedding but this was totally unacceptable as we had to immediately go out to buy these items after a 8 hour ride to get there. Whomever is responsible for restocking needs to do much better.

First timers to OKI

Loved the house and location of the property! My boys had a blast crabbing in the marsh and the walk to the beach wasn’t bad at all. Minor issues with the grill (it needs some attention or maybe replaced?) and the cleaning crew. Fair amount of sand in the master, trash left behind, and some food left in the freezer. Nothing too concerning though. Would definitely rent again if the price is right 😉…And that outdoor shower is the best!!

Great Family + Dog Vacation

The house was a perfect size for our two families - 4 adults, 3 kids, and dogs. Loved the marsh side ~ kids fished off the dock, could easily walk the dogs, and was a very quiet street. The house had everything we needed ~ laundry, great kitchen with all the amenities, good bathrooms, and quick access to the beach. We cleaned a bit before unpacking due to housekeeping, but this didn’t take away from the house or the great time we had. Excellent communication from the owner.
