Karavotsakisma Studio & Villa accommodation with Pool

Peace, privacy, magnificent sea views, glorious sunsets, lush mature gardens, a swimming pool, a high standard of comfort and service; all contribute to making KARAVOTSAKISMA one of the most enchanting places on Skiathos. This secluded retreat is two minutes drive from excellent sandy beaches (Elias, Koukounaries, Banana, Ag. Eleni, Agistro Mandraki, Kriffi, Maratha) and the facilities of tavernas, bars, supermarkets, horse riding and water-sports ( the Salto Watersports at Koukounaires offers our guests a 20% discount) .
THE STUDIOS comprise of an attractively decorated, open plan bed-sitting room with either double or twin beds: excellent shower room with basin and WC.; a modern very well equipped kitchen with marble work surfaces (full cooker, hob, fridge, kettle, coffee maker, toaster, iron and ironing board, etc.); opening onto a private, sea view, garden terrace with marble dining table and cane chairs. There are fans, hairdryers and safe deposit boxes in each studio; parasols and cool boxes are provided for use at the beach.
SERVICE. Cleaning is daily and bed linen and towels are changed regularly. On arrival accommodations are arranged with fresh flowers, fruit, drinks and provisions for the first mornings breakfast.
THE POOL terrace has panoramic sea views and wonderful sunsets; cushioned sunbeds and big sun umbrellas. The pool is over 14 meters long with a shallow end. It is salt water chlorinated; an Australian system making it kind to the skin. There is a BBQ area. The pool is exclusively for our guests. There is a separate shaded GAMES TERRACE with table tennis, a pool table, table football and library.
CAR-HIRE is recommended not only as it is a steep walk up but also to allow you to enjoy the island fully. I am happy to arrange this for you. The car can be picked up and dropped off at the airport…. Or you may prefer to arrange this yourself.
FREE WIFI is available in the studios, on the terraces and at the pool..

Il soggiorno presso Karavotsakisma è stato praticamente perfetto. Gail è la padrona di casa che ti accoglie e ti accompagna in modo discreto ma presente per tutto il tempo di soggiorno. La struttura non è semplice da raggiungere, serve la macchina, ma è ciò che la rende speciale se si cerca tranquillità e pace. Alzarsi la mattina con quella vista è semplicemente meraviglioso. Raccomandiamo questa struttura e sicuramente torneremo.

A little piece of heaven on a beautiful island. Karavotsakisma did not disappoint. We cannot rate this place highly enough. From our initial enquiry through to the end of our stay, we were taken care of wonderfully.Gail is a fabulous host and her home is truly authentic. The fridge was stocked with fresh bread, butter, milk, honey, eggs and water to start you off and make you even more welcome!Our studio had everything we needed and was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. A car is a must when visiting Karavotsakisma due to the hill. Gail will arrange this for you. We managed to visit further away secluded beaches, away from the crowds and i must say they were beautiful. It's a very interesting drive to those beaches on the north of the island.We have booked again for next year already!

Bien plus jolie que sur le site, cette propriété est un havre de paix, dotée d’une vue splendide et d’une végétation bien soignée. La propriétaire est à la fois charmante et discrète.Le seul petit inconvénient réside dans le fait qu’il faut emprunter un chemin poussiereux, odorant et chaotique mais cet endroit se mérite tant il est exceptionnel !!

We stayed 25 nights at Karavotsakisma House. This was a Skiathos revisit trip for us not having been back for 12 years. A first time stay at Gail’s.The accommodation is very clean and well appointed. There is no AC or tv. The views are truly beautiful as is the setting. A property that has been developed over decades and built with love. There is a true uniqueness and enveloping feeling of a lovely hug here.You can have complete privacy or share time around the beautiful pool chatting with other guests. Life is simple, surrounded by nature you will experience true relaxation.Gail and son Billy along with their two cute dogs Sassy and Tilly are never far away to answer any queries or just have a chat. A fabulous recommendation is repeat business and many of Gail’s other guests had stayed there many times before.A memorable stay for which we say thank you.

Beautiful studio in lovely gardens with sea views

The studio is comfortable with everything you need for a relaxing stay. Set in gorgeous gardens with a lovely pool. Views of the sea. 2 mins drive along a slightly steep private road to local beach, shops and restaurants. Whole area is protected from development so it is stunning. Lots of beaches to choose from all gorgeous. Recommend hiring a car. Gail is an excellent host. We have booked again!

Our stay at Gails

Karavotsakisma House is situated at the top of a long private drive. The peace and tranquility surrounding this property are to die for. The view is magnificent. We stayed in the apartment and were looked after so well. House keeping every day and sheets and towels changed mid week. Gail was a lovely host, her warmth and friendliness very special. There is a pool long enough to swim a few lengths (if you can drag yourself off the comfortable sun bed). There are some good tavernas in the area offering a selection of tasty food. You do need a car to make life easier. We had some appalling weather during our stay, very unusual for Skiathos. However all the positives listed above compensated for the disappointment. We would recommend a holiday in Karavotsakisma House.

Wir war für 14 Tag bei Gail. Der Aufenthalt war genial und Alles stimmt absolut zu hundert Prozent mit der Anzeige überein. Ein herzlicher Empfang von Gail, die uns sofort die ganze Anlage und natürlich auch die Wohnung gezeigt hat. Auch durften wir sofort in die Wohnung, obwohl wir sehr früh angereist sind. Für das erste Frühstück waren Butter, Brot, Honig, Kaffe, Olivenöl und Obst vorhanden. Außergewöhnlich ist, dass die Wohnung jeden Tag gereinigt wurde und wir zweimal Mal bei unserem Aufenthalt frische Wäsche erhalten haben. Auch wenn die Unterkunft etwas außerhalb mit einer besonderen Anfahrt liegt, sie ist einfach genial und sehr zu empfehlen. Erholung pur und so liebevoll von Gail und Ihren tollen Mitarbeiter geschaffen und gepflegt. Liebe Gail, vielen Dank dafür!!!!

A little bit of paradise!

What a special place to stay. Set in a quiet location in the hills of Skiathos with amazing views and close to some of the most gorgeous beaches. We loved every second and are already planning our next stay. Gail, our host, could not have been more helpful - such a lovely and interesting lady.

Beautiful location and wonderful villas and in Skiathos…perfect

To say our holiday at Gail’s beautiful Villas was great is an understatement the accommodation is so well thought out everything that you need ( plus a welcome pack of food provided) and the grounds just beautiful. The location is in the heart of beautiful beaches.The pool much bigger than I expected and very clean great to swim in. But most importantly was our host Gail and her son William both so helpful and friendly as was the other guests …it’s better than home. Gail went to extraordinary lengths to help us as we were caught up in the Manchester Airport Cancellation day but Gail got in touch with the car hire company etc. you would NOT get that sort of help in an hotel ( or dare I say any other air B&B) O.K. The road to the villas is steep and winding but so worth the views and grounds when you reach the Villas . I’ve said too much I know but actually I haven’t said enough of how good our experience was .

Wonderful vacation

The property was lovely and the personal touches much appreciated. Having milk, butter, bread, tea and coffee on arrival made such a difference. The room was very clean and the gardens and pool were quiet and relaxing.

Wonderful place

As per previous reviews, this is a wonderfully quiet and secluded spot. But rather than repeat all the other well deserved plaudits, with which i agree wholeheartedly, I'll just add the following. My family and i have stayed at many lovely, private holiday spots over the years and been perfectly satisfied. However, we've never felt the need to return to any; until now. We will be back to Skiathos and will stay here again. Thank you Gail.

A little piece of Heaven

Gail and her son William the hosts were an absolute delight. Everything made so easy from booking our apartment, ordering us a car to explore the island, to booking us on a wine tasting tour. It made us feel just a little bit like family actually by the end of our holiday, that we didn't want to leave. She's an amazing artist too so take a look at her work. The roads are easy to follow with a 20 minute easy drive to Gails from the airport. The road leading to Gails is up a bumpy and steep hill but you get used to it and once you're there, it's so worth it. Our little apartment was fully equipped, extremely clean and yes just as I've titled it...'a little piece of heaven!' Gorgeous views, beautiful mature gardens, a gorgeous swimming pool and games area. We even had a little welcome pack of fresh flowers, eggs, butter, milk, bread, local honey and bottles of water... so lovely. And easy parking, everything you need! The island is small so you can explore every beach you want to find, whether it's a relaxing small cove or an exciting water sport beach with music. And, if you're brave enough to take the dirt tracks listen to Gail when she tells you the best way to go...I recommend whole heartedly this beautiful escape without hesitation Nothing was too much trouble for them. Loved it! 😍

Perfect end of our Greece vacation

We stayed in this beautiful place for four days and ended our two weeks Greek vacation in a nice and well supplied studio at Karavotsakisma - even better than expected, the pictures simply don’t do it justice. The view is outstanding, the pool area is cozy and well maintained, nearby beaches are varied (there is a beach for everyone) and restaurants and supermarkets can be find nearby. Studio itself has a fantastic private terrace with a view to die for, dining table, garden chairs and more. Kitchen is modern and well provided so you can easily cook there. Bathroom is also recently renovated. You will need some kind of transportation as the property is quite a climb but you will need that anyway to explore the beautiful green island of Skiathos. All in all a GREAT place.

Posto incantevole

Posto incantevole nella quiete di un giardino mediterraneo in collina vista mare, bellissima piscina dove rilassarsi la sera. Piccoli bungalow con patio ombreggiato, com molta privacy. Bellissimo giardino comune con amaca, tavolo da biliardo e libri. Da scegliere se si vuole una vacanza rilassante nel verde, lontano dal caos. Mare a 10 minuti a piedi, strada sterrata in collina non adatta a tutti i mezzi di trasporto. Proprietaria e personale molto gentile, disponibile ed amichevole. Bellissimo, grazie di tutto

Secluded, well maintained and well appointed

One of , if not the nicest places we have stayed in Greece in the last 20 years. Well maintained rooms with good facilities including the best shower we have had on a Greek island. Fabulous views and a lovely owner who really cares about her guests.

Magnifique séjour

L'endroit est très apaisant , très calme. La vue est magnifique , le tout dans un jardin très bien entretenu. Très bonne organisation du studio, le ménage est fait tous les jours. La piscine était quasi privative,nous étions les seuls à en profiter. Merci Gail pour l'accueil.

Un hâvre de paix

Nous avons vraiment apprécié l'emplacement de l'hébergement ,sans voisin ,au calme et avec une très belle vue sur la mer. Également tres appréciable la propreté du lieu et toutes les attentions de notre hôte qui ont rendu ce sejour très agréable.

I was born & grew up in Tynemouth ; then went to Manchester and studied art.
In 1970, I first visited Skiathos where I met my late husband Christos. In our early years together we lived in a hut on the famous Koukounaries Beach; with no fresh water or electricity; everyday life was hard work but stunningly beautiful and of course, it was lots of fun. For 25 years we operated a water sports business from here; in the meanwhile we built our dream home and holiday accommodations on the hilltop above the beach. Here, at Karavotsakisma, with a magnificent view over the sea to Pelion is where I live with my son, William. My daughter Elena holidays here.
