This particular unit had updated furniture and the most comfortable king size bed ever. The photographs of Ma'alaea Surf accurately portray how lovely the setting is. Beautiful white sand beach without crossing a road. We watched humpback whales breaching from the beach.

We like the relatively moderate size of the resort, its location by the extensive beach and the overall layout and design of the units.We stayed at Unit H2 before and for 10 days this time, six days at C4. Both condos were fine, but we do prefer H2's location by the beach. H2 was totally renovated after the muddy disaster last year. It's a clean design, but we somewhat missed the ambience of the previous decor. We would have liked better reading lights.

We were pleasantly surprised that within the unit and the grounds, you would have never known there was a foot plus of mud in December. The upgrades the owners did to the unit are very nice. The unit was also very well stocked with the basic essentials. We love the quiet location of this property and the close proximity to the beach, just steps away. You do need a car though to go to restaurants/shopping.

Awesome Stay!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Loved C4! Very well equipped and comfortable. Stayed 10 days and never once felt something was missing. Beautiful kitchen, ice was ready for us on arrival, furniture and bed were very comfortable, and plenty of supplies were available. Beware the shower!!! The water pressure there is insanely high, so much that it actually hurts. Definitely needs to be addressed. Very slow wifi too, had to purchase a CAT-6 cable at Target just to make the DVD streaming services usable. Neither of these issues had any significant impact on our enjoyment however and our stay was excellent! Would absolutely stay there again. Highly recommended!

The Ma'alaea Surf Resort is in a great location, and being right next to the ocean and pool was amazing. The specific unit we stayed in had a porch that was shaded all day, and the space and layout of the condo was ideal. The owners included tons of amenities and items for guest use - beach chairs, books, beach toys, beach towels, etc. For the cost, it was also a fabulous deal. I highly recommend Ma'alaea Surf Resort!

Bad business

The property was OK! VRBO has definitely lost me as a customer. Since I booked through them they have charged me $150.00 for insurance that I never signed up for specially because I was traveling during Covid when everything was refundable anyways! VRBO is denying responsibility for this and they keep passing me around! Never again, Bad business!

Idyllic Stay In Maui

From the initial booking to the final checkout and closing communication everything was top notch at Ma’alaea Surf. We couldn’t have been more happy with staying there for our honeymoon. They go to great lengths to make sure the grounds are immaculate and that things are quiet and peaceful during your stay. We watched the sunset here each night and it’s hard to beat. The location is unreal - right on the beach with unobstructed view. Bigger beaches are within walking distance or even a short drive. So is shopping in Kihei and other places. If you want a loud resort with a lot of people and activities go elsewhere. Our condo (C4) was well supplied with kitchen supplies, beach equipment and had everything necessary to enjoy time at home. All of our contact with management was excellent and they are super accommodating. We felt right at home and only wish we could stay longer. If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway to enjoy all the beauty of Hawaii, you could hardy do any better.

Pleasantly surprised

This property is a unique oasis in an area with otherwise tired and dated resorts. The low density and large area of the property means the beach front is always free from anything even approaching crowded. The grounds are idyllic and well groomed. A ground floor unit facing the ocean is worth additional cost.

They are well maintained and all true to their pictures.This is the first time we have stayed in this unit and it has been recently updated. The unit is beautiful and well maintained. It was stocked with lots of extras(spices, cooking oil, foil, etc)which is aways great and much appreciated. The only thing they need is BBQ utensils, but we made do. The resort is beautiful and every unit has a view of the ocean. Management are great and available anytime. Thanks again for a wonderful stay and we'll see you at Christmas
