Beautiful ocean view and property

The view was amazing, and the property was very nice. It was quiet, and the pool was good. We saw whales and sea turtles from our balcony.

Beautiful Property

Everything about our stay was wonderful. Green Sea Turtles in the water and on the beach every day. We saw spinner dolphins, and enjoyed using the lending library on site. On site staff were so helpful and friendly. It was truly a pleasure to stay at Kuleana Resort.

Perfect Stay!

This space was perfect for our trip to Maui! Prime location with easy access to multiple parts of the island! We really appreciate the use of chairs and boogie boards! The view doesn't get any better - waking up each day to see the beautiful Hawaii waters! Thanks again for such a great stay!!

Amazing views and relaxing place

Beautiful View

It was a beautiful view. Great location and very friendly neighborhood. The only concern was there were ants everywhere. Our second day there the complex had pest control spraying but it didn’t really help. It’s tropical so it is to be expected. 10/10 will stay again but bring ant spray.

Lovely!

This is a great little condo. The grounds are beautiful and quiet. It is away from the busiest areas, which our family prefers, but only a short drive to them if that's your thing. The condo is quaint, clean, and has everything you would need in it. The highlight of this place though is THE VIEW! The picture in the listing does not lie. The view of the ocean is incredible out of this place. We stayed in February and had the patio doors open most of the time so we could listen to the ocean and watch the whales play.

Kuleana Resort

Beautiful stunning view from lanai. Didn’t like high top table for seating on lanai - uncomfortable but was good view. Unit may need deep clean but was definitely cleaned. It was a great vacation rental. Fully stocked in the kitchen. Everything worked well - appliances. Nice touch to have beach chairs and snorkel etc. beach towels were great. Laundry was very convenient. Beach is small but nice - turtles everyday and even a seal swam by, lots of fish right here. Pool is excellent - big and clean. All areas of the property are well maintained and BBQ was easy to use. Definitely a top choice for this area.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This penthouse condo is located oceanfront with a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean, Molokai and Lanai. We simply loved how clean and well equipped the unit was and the grounds are beautifully manicured, with a putting green, shuffle board, ping pong, a library, tennis courts and large pool. Every evening at sunset, a guy downstairs would come out and honk a conch to the setting was great! We watched Humpback mother whales with their calves and giant sea turtles from our lanai. We will be back for another relaxing stay at Kuleana and will recommend it to our friends

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed at the Kuleana several times, but this was our first time in unit #417. Though it is not the nicest unit we've stayed in, it is very adequate. The location of the Kuleana, the grounds and pool, and management staff make it an incredible place to stay when vacationing on Maui. The location in the Kahana area can't be beat! We had two small maintenance issues while staying there (for 2 weeks) and both issues were handled and resolved immediately. We love walking up the the Hawaiian Village Coffee shop in the Kahana Gateway mall. Nicest people there! We enjoy going to Duke's Restaurant and The Sea House, especially for happy hour. This year we really enjoyed going to The Mill House Restaurant in Wailuku. Incredible food! We highly recommend the Kuleana. The units may seem small but again, the location is wonderful.

Two weeks in Paradise

This was our first stay in unit 417 and found it well supplied with almost everything we needed although a pitcher would be helpful. The light colored walls and shades are cheerful and bright and just add to the view of the ocean from the living room. The patio table, rectangular, is perfect for the patio. The grounds at the Kuleana are very well manicured and the staff is always extremely helpful. The only concern we had is that the Kuleana is a non smoking facility and unfortunately the overpowering smell from one or two guests smoking in their room did waft all the way to the top floor and since it was marijuana the smell was overpowering. Our hope is that you will address this issue so that all guests can enjoy their stay.

Unlike the outdated new-like picture, the current metal base is very rusted and presents an extreme hazard for cuts and infections or even worse.The bedroom has two major issues. The chain activated light switch on the ceiling fan doesn't work. So, whenever the fan is on the four lights are also on.The material on the old corner chair is flaking. These flakes then get on clothing, on the floor, and bedding.Destination Maui Realty needs to ensure that their rental properties are safe, well maintained, and depict a Resort.

Extraordinarily view from the balcony. Such a great place to stay and work with that view. WiFi worked great, making working from this place amazing. Coin operated laundry worked well (they even had soap dispensers and a machine to convert notes to coins). The property is beautifully landscaped. Just be aware of ants and don't leave food lying around on tables like you would in the continental US. Other reviewers had the same complaint about the air conditioner and the issue has not been addressed. It simply doesn't work well. It's extremely loud (even at the lowest fan setting). This is problematic at night when the thermostat kicks out (dead silence) and then kicks in again (loud sound enough to wake anyone from their sleep). When the thermostat kicks out, the temperature rises way too much before it kicks in again (it becomes so warm that I start sweating). Clearly, the thermostat tolerance is too high. Other than this, this is a great place and I highly recommend it!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family rented 2 units. 104 & 417.Units were good with great views. Property location is amazing. Rental company Destination Maui Vacations was horrible. We did a self check in due to checking in on the weekend. They had the wrong information on the gate key on our paperwork. Luckily our family had the correct info and we all made it through the gate. The next day we had parking violation notices on our cars. Would be nice for self check in to have temp car park pass. They do disclose that there is a starter kit for toilet paper and such. We rented for 10 days so my assumption was the kit would be appropriate for 10 days It was not. Our room 417 cost per night was $468. I have never stayed anywhere for even half that cost and have to supply my own toilet paper, paper towels or garbage bags. Ridiculous. Sign said please remove your shoes on door. Walked twice through the unit and feet were filthy. Shoes back on. Day 4 the kitchen faucet broke. Contacted the front desk and maintenance. Was told they do not have parts and would get back to me. Faucet never was fixed and never heard back at all. As with most rentals all the aluminum non-stick pans were very scratched up. Mattress in bedroom was very soft and bed was shaky. Bedroom has AC. We did not use it. Our family in 104 had an issue with the front door lock. It did not lock from the outside. Meaning when we left for the day the door would not be locked. It took 4 phone calls, a visit to the front desk and 2 days before the lock worked. Kuleana Resort is a great location but Destination Maui Vacations failed miserably. I will not consider renting from them on future trips to Maui.
