Great views with some fixable issues

This was my second stay at the resort. Amazing ocean views and beach access as always. Overall, a good unit, but a few areas could use improvement: the bedroom AC is quite loud, the sofa bed mattress is worn out, and the kitchen is stocked with only the bare essentials. With a few upgrades, this place could be excellent.

We have stayed at 3 other locations at the Kuleana resort and this was our favorite. The place was updated and they had everything we needed for the beach which was a huge plus. We will be back.

Perfect place to stay in Maui!

Reviewer Comments: This was the perfect place to stay on Maui! Close to everything we wanted to see and do. We saw turtles from the balcony and the property. We loved watching the sunset from our balcony and I got some great pics! The unit was roomy and comfortable. A/c worked great and bed was comfortable. We didn’t really have any contact with the owner but we didn’t need anything so I guess it was fine. The checkout instructions were a little confusing with different things to do written in multiple places. The only thing we had to complain about was the neighbors smoking a cigar and weed. We thought it was a non-smoking building, but apparently not?? There were a couple nights we couldn’t enjoy the balcony. Other than that, our stay was great! We purchased additional paper towels and soap because you’re only given a starter set, but we knew that going into it. An extra dish towel or two would have been nice too, but we made do. And the clean, newer furnishings more than made up for those couple things!

The unit was clean and well stocked with the exception of not having a kettle or an ironing board. We did run out of hot water just after one shower, but it warmed up quickly. We had stayed in another unit at the Kuleana for 2 weeks previous to staying in this one. 714 far surpassed the first unit. Moving from one unit to another is such a pain. We really appreciated the effort made by staff to get us in to this unit earlier in the day.

A Week in February

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location of this unit is prime. The balcony overlooks the ocean and the turtle sanctuary- you are so close you’ll need to close the balcony door to be able to hear the TV! Lanai is a wonderful place to sit, enjoy the view and see whales. When we arrived there was a small beach and easy ocean access for swimming and snorkeling. A storm came up one night and unfortunately the sand washed away leaving no beach and a difficult water access. The room is on the small side with little counter space. Pots are stored in the oven. Bathroom is fairly large and new. Unit could use a vacuum and mop, and cleaning supplies so you can tidy up during your stay. When we arrived 2/6 pillows were clean, others were very stained with yellow stuff and blood. Floor was not washed and there was lots of food under the stove. Every night ants would come out from under the stove. Screen door is difficult to close without a loud sound, yet there is a rule to not slam the door. Parking is very tight and you will get a notice if your tires touch the lines! Grounds are beautiful, BBQ area is lovely and ocean front. Destination Maui desk person got us new pillows, a broom and chairs for the unit. We paid for an extra night, but had to move units on our last day. We were given the wrong door code and couldn’t get ahold of anyone as it was Sunday. Security was unable to help. It cut into our last day and was quite stressful. We packed everything into our car. Finally a maintenance man came and he had the code to our new unit. Obviously the codes don’t change - we wondered about the security of that! The new unit was 507 - this unit was older, furniture dirty, walls needed painting. Beautiful view once again.

Warning: Stay away from "Destination Maui" Property Rentals!!

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: You'll be expected to purchase your own toilet paper, soap, paper towels, dish rag, trash bags etc. They leave virtually nothing in their "starter Kit" and likely you'll be washing their bathroom towels as they leave 3 wash cloths and 3 towels. Destination Maui Management takes cheapness to a new level. Cheapness rears its' ugly head throughout with ripped blankets, very limited cooking supplies, burned or missing necessary cooking pots/pans, even salt & pepper aren't furnished! Avoid any of Destination Maui Property Rentals and go camping instead; you'll have much better accommodations!We return to Maui every year and have great experiences renting condos over many years. This is the first time we have ever experienced anything like this. You won't get us again, Destinations Maui Management Company! Rick & Tracy SerranoAttention Condo Owners: Using Destination Maui as your Property Management Company, will ensure you'll have a much higher rate of vacancies, numerous unhappy visitors which =equals less money in your pocket from your investment. We own multiple rentals including a small motel and couldn't imagine furnishing anything like this for guests-and we charge 49.00 a night!

Lovely vacation rental

We enjoyed our stay in Lahaina very much. The property is right by the water so you can watch beautiful sunsets and listen to the waves. There isn’t great beach access at the property but multiple beaches are nearby. Parking spots are very small on property (as they are all over Maui) so be careful on your car rental choices. The bed was comfortable and the window air was prefect to keep us cool. If we go back to Maui I would absolutely stay here again. Tips: There are two beach chairs, two boogie boards and two snorkels on the patio which were great to use. The umbrella is broken - not worth carrying to the beach. I recommend the farmers market just down the road to the south for a few items for the house - they sell water very inexpensively and have small portions of coffee filters.

Great Family Spot

We very much enjoyed our stay. Our children had a great time playing at the small beach at the property. Also, there was great snorkeling with easy access in and out of the water. We could have used a bit more supplies in our starter kit for the stay, as we were only issued 3 garbage bags and two dishwasher tablets for a 8 day stay. But, a quick trip to the store and we were good to go!

The pool was very large and a great place for relaxing. Limited number of deck lounges due to COVID rules I guess. Many lounges locked up at pool. 4 BBQ's with 2 closed due to COVID I assume. Seemed odd since there was distance between them. Not nearly sufficient number of BBQ's with that many units. Very helpful staff on site worked with us on the leaky dishwasher and TV internet issues. But then who needs a dishwasher and TV when you are in Hawaii. Amazing air conditioner in the bedroom. Thank you.

Relax on the patio

The view from our patio was spectacular. We enjoyed so much just watching and listening to the ocean. From time to time a turtle would swim by as well. A mile walk to the beach walk, and a close drive to most of the shops in the area.

Fantastic Location!!!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved the location of this rental so much! The views of the ocean right off the balcony day and night were stunning and so peaceful. The condo was very clean and the bed was on the firm side and very comfortable. The only complaints we have are that the AC unit was a bit noisy (but it kept the space very cool and comfortable so it was bearable) and the water pressure in the shower was SUPER intense (it hurt taking a shower) and therefore the hot water would run out really fast. But you didn't want to stay in the shower too long because of the pressure so we would just wait about 1/2 an hour and there would be enough hot water for the next person. Oh, and there is a group of sea turtles that live around the rocks just outside the condo and they were so fun to watch! The water there is a bit choppy but some people would snorkel off the shore around the turtles. We would definitely stay here again, but ask if the water pressure could be adjusted.

Absolutely beautiful!

Unit was beautiful and the perfect place for a more intimate vacation. Right on the beach! Absolutely amazing views! I have a bad back and the bed was extremely comfortable. You can see lots of turtles 🐢 My boyfriend and I had the best time here on the private beach. Pool was great too! Hands down the best place I have ever stayed! Definitely worth the money! Cannot wait to come back!

We will be back!

This was our 4th time to the west side of Maui so we had a pretty good idea of what we were looking for in a rental. This unit was perfect for us! Very comfortable bed and couch with a beautifully renovated kitchen and bathroom. The balcony gives you unobstructed views of the ocean. Can't really as for much more. I would absolutely recommend this rental to all my family and friends.

Clean and well maintained property

Staff and grounds are very nice. Location not great , too much road noise and no accessible beach at property. Walls and ceiling are thin you can hear every footstep and door closing.
