Our 7-day stay at this overpriced vacation house was a disaster from day one. At close to 500 we expected high standards and comfort, but what we got was a dirty pool, a 1.5-day water outage, and a laundry list of unaddressed issues. The pool was not clean, and remained untouched for days despite our repeated requests for a proper cleaning. We were unable to use the pool for 5 out of 7 days. We experienced a 1.5-day water outage, leaving us scrambling for basic hygiene. When we tried to contact management, they were MIA, responding to our pleas for help only after lengthy delays. The dishwasher was broken from the start, and remained out of order the entire stay. The furniture was cheap IKEA fare, the mattress was uncomfortable, and the bed frame squeaked like a haunted house. In the afternoons, there was noise from the construction next door, making it impossible to take a peaceful nap. And if we tried to enjoy a quiet dinner in the dining outdoor area, we had to accept the "company" of rats scurrying up and down the beautiful olive trees. As a local, I'm familiar with the quirks of the area and I understand that sometimes things don't work as efficiently as we'd like. But that's no excuse for the utter lack of maintenance, communication, and basic hospitality we experienced. The only redeeming qualities were the reliable WiFi and AC, and that the house was clean and tidy when we checked in, but that clearly wasn't enough to make our stay even remotely enjoyable.
