Cosy cottage in the heart of the village and just a short walk from the village pub. Perfect for exploring Castle Howard and York and will accept up to three dogs.. 1 step to entrance.

Front garden with courtyard and garden furniture (shared with other properties on-site). Bike store. Private parking for 1 car, additional parking available by prior arrangement with owner. No smoking.. Welcome to Castle Court a cosy one-bed cottage close to the magnificent Sheriff Hutton Castle and just a short drive from the historic City of York. Full of character, this cosy retreat features a welcoming living area with a sofa and Freeview TV, along with a compact kitchen including an electric hob and microwave. The ground floor offers a convenient shower room, while upstairs you’ll find a spacious bedroom with a super-king-size zip-and-link bed, perfect for a restful night’s sleep. Outside, a shared courtyard with seating provides a pleasant spot to relax. A public footpath only yards away leads to wonderful views of the castle ruins.
The cottage sits within easy walking distance of the village store and a friendly pub serving ales and good food. A 10-minute drive brings you to Castle Howard, famed for its grand architecture, lakeside grounds, and year-round events. The rolling landscapes of the Howardian Hills AONB are almost on the doorstep, offering exceptional walking and cycling routes—bring binoculars to spot local wildlife.
For days out, York is a treasure trove of history with its iconic Minster, Roman walls, museums, and vibrant shopping streets. Enjoy a day at the races, or to Pickering to ride the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, continuing on to Whitby for classic fish and chip supper. Guests can also ask the owners for a a private tour of the 600-year-old castle ruins, adding a memorable touch to your stay.
