Lovely Huntington Cabin

We had a wonderful time at the blue jay cabin. The property was clean, comfortable, and within walking distance of the lake. We hope to stay here again!

Nice place

Ive stayed in several of these condo. Theyre all pretty similar. This one isn't updated or modernized but we don't care about that. Well decorated. Everything you need is there. Very comfortable. All of these condos have lots of stairs if you're not familiar with them. I would stay here again.

Great time of the year to be here.

Very Quite. Almost no one at the lake this last week of November. Lots of stairs at the condo. 3 Levels . Bathrooms on bottom floors. Hand rail on 2nd level stairs needs to be repaired or replaced. Over-all great time if you enjoy no crowds and you don't mind the work out going up and down the stairs.

Really enjoyed the property. Wish communication was easier.

We enjoyed our stay in this property. The kitchen is well stocked. The challenges we faced were with communication with Vacasa. Since this is a large company, their communications follow typical large company customer service practices. Long phone wait times and rigid process. We would stay in Vacasa properties again but prefer to stay in mom n pop owned rental properties because of the personal communication. Personal communication often comes with faster responses to communications as well as flexibility.

Great location but..

Lots to say here. Starting with the good things- location is great, just 5-7 minutes past China peak. Quiet condo and we really liked the layout of it. Nice big couch in living room. But! On arrival- and we were hurrying to make a lesson at China Peak & the key pad didn’t work to open the front door. Called Vacasa Which is a call center in Florida who then called the local property management office. This took too much time and we were late. Ended up getting an actual key from a code from nice property manager. The 2 bedrooms And two bathrooms downstairs were ok- my daughter had allergic reaction to their bedroom and slept on the day bed in the kitchen which didn’t have any bedding for it. There are nice big blankets in the living room which she used. The heater in the master bedroom makes popping sounds all night which woke my husband and I up all night both nights. Not good. The bedding and comforters on both beds are very dated and uncomfortable. Plenty of towels but very hard. Good water pressure. The kitchen- no Tupperware or tin foil or plastic wrap or sandwich bags. Old utensils. Everything felt kind of dirty. the coffee filters for the coffee maker are the wrong shape and size. Good to have dishwasher. We learned from past review to bring all own food and we did. Fireplace in living room was very full with ashes on arrival but usable. Definitely Needs to be cleaned out. The tv DVD instructions both on line and at the condo were wrong but we figured it out. We have no idea where the hot tub and pool are. It would be good to have a binder with all the local places to eat and shop and a clear map of the property. I don’t think we’d rent from Vacasa again- instead we like VRBO’s that are owned by people who take care of all the upkeep and personal touches.

Huntington Lake Getaway

This condo has been nicely updated and nicely furnished since we stayed in neighboring condos many years ago. Huntington Lake is not crowded and is beautiful, pristine, and fairly quiet. We walked, kayaked, and hiked on nearby trails - also had great fish tacos & French fries at the grill on the dock. However, there is nowhere else to eat or buy food, so guests need to know to bring their own food to cook unless they want to drive down to Shaver Lake. My husband enjoyed the jacuzzi which is open 3pm to 9pm - it is next to the pool which is nice for kids or a quick dip but not big enough for lap swimming. We loved our time there and are thankful that the area was spared from the fire that hit nearby about 2 years ago. The tall fir trees and redwoods are magnificent.

Tranquil and perfect

Clean and comfortable condo

My family visits Huntington Lake every summer, we have stayed at this condo at least 3 times. It’s always clean and has everything we need. It’s perfect for multiple families with separate sleeping areas plus a large family room. I’m sure we’ll visit again. Thank you!

We love Huntington Lake

Easy to access, we like the layout and all the amenities were provided. The kitchen was very well stocked with appropriate pots and pans, which is important to me. Lovely view from the balconey.

Cozy and Comfortable

My family and I stayed here for Mother’s Day weekend! It was very cozy and comfortable! Plenty of room for us to hang out in! The kitchen was great and filled with plenty of kitchen tools to prep your favorite meals! The location was perfect! Only 1 mile from Rancheria Falls which was a great hike and Huntington Lake was just below the hill! Definitely recommend!

Huntington lake winter retreat

My family stays in these condos about once a year and we’ve actually stayed in this one in the past. The previous reviews were harsh and did not reflect our experience. The place was clean, tons of cooking utensils, WiFi was amazing!, even had cable tv channels and a DVD player. We had a great time! My only wish was that the second bedroom had bunk beds instead of a queen bed: my teenage son didn’t want to sleep in abed with his friend. Our family agreed that this was our favorite condo and such a great price!

Property is ok, but needs some maintenance. The master bath drains very slowly. This combined with a high flow showerhead results in ankle deep water every shower. The bbq stunk of rancid grease and was unusable.

Relaxing Getaway

We had a great time!! Property was awesome, no WIFI but we read this in the description and came prepared with a hot spot. The only problem we had was we were only given 3 trash bags for 4 nights. We needed a couple more. Also there were painters scheduled the same week we were there...they started at 0730 am and it was loud. They were very nice and it only took a couple days to finish our section. A warning would have been nice. Over all awesome place, awesome price...will definitely be back.

No Wifi, No Cell Service, Burned out Lights, Not enough blankets, Noisy wall heaters.

But most importantly, No Wine Glasses! Potentially a great place, needs maintenance and wifi. Seriously needs wifi and maybe TVs in both bedrooms.

clean condo with some suggested improvements

the condo was very clean. the furniture, carpet and beds were in great condition. my only complaint is the pots and pans for the kitchen. the main reason we chose a condo is for the kitchen and the pots and pans that are provided are way past usable. every teflon pan was scratched to the metal and the pots were aluminium relics from someones 60's camping gear. Only one large pot had a lid and had to use a plate as a lid for one of the smaller pots. please upgrade with some basic new pots and pans and you have a 5 star condo.

Great Condo, but needs a little love.

This condo was previously amazing (see my prior review) but needs small improvements to return to that quality level. Several light bulbs were not working throughout the condo. Four of nine lights in the living room didn’t work, two of four of the bathroom lights didn’t work as well as one kitchen light. This was mentioned in an earlier review and has not not yet been corrected which makes me feel like Vacasa and the owners don’t care about the property. They definitely need new blankets for the beds, matching silverware, new pots, pans, as well as updated cooking implements. There used to be cozy blankets on the beds but now it’s plain sheets and a stiff quilt. I’ve read other reviews complaining about the quality of beds, but they are actually quite good. They are firm mattresses, so maybe the other reviewer had a problem with that, but the beds are of high quality. For the love of all that is holy, PLEASE repair the horribly loud and irritating fan that comes on in conjunction with the bathroom downstairs. It had been reported before with no improvement. Despite these setbacks, this is still my favorite condo in the complex, so much so, that we are returning in a few weeks.

Grandkids weekend

Had an awesome stay. Great space for families and grandkids loved the stairs (me not so much). Would rent again! Never did find the pool/spa and would have loved a map to get there. Highly recommend for any occasion.
