Spring Get Away

The house was great with the exception of the elevator. We never got it to work and that was an inconvenience. This was our first experience at ocean lakes, we would definitely go again and recommend!

Bachelorette trip

I planed a bachelorette trip for my sister and her group of friends we had 8 total. The house was clean the beds were comfy. The house had everything we needed. The property manager was super helpful and answered very quickly with any problems that we had. I would definitely stay here again! Currently trying to convince my sister to plan my bachelorette trip next year here!

Fun Last Minute Change of Plans Trip

Had to change our travel destination in a weeks time due to a hurricane in the gulf. Cindy, the property manager did a good job answering all of my questions and quick responses. Overall the home met our expectations. Had plenty room for 4 adults and 2 children. Kitchen was fully stocked, ample parking, washer and dryer was nice, close to the beach and the water park. The area was safe for kids, close to grocery stores and attractions if you decide to venture outside of the Ocean Lakes community. Only feedback for improvements that I can think of would be updating the beach chairs and maybe a little bit more attention to cleaning the floors. I probably would not have noticed the floors if it wasn’t for the fact that I have an infant that crawls everywhere but I did clean them the first day after I picked her up and she had black stains on her clothes. This was our first stay at Ocean Lakes and I am sure we will be back. Excellent location to vacation with children and relax.

Communication could have been better.

We arrived from upstate NY. We were please that we were able to get into house early. Cindy 's husband was finishing cleaning. We never met Cindy. We had several emails back and forth. She asked several times if we were renting the golf cart. I said yes. She stated that it would be charged and ready. It was not. We rented linens and were never told were they were. About 9pm we realize they were in bags on the front porch. I was told that the linens and golf cart had to be paid in cash, she could not take a card or go through Vrbo. I tried to give her husband the money,but he wanted his wife to take it. After several missed attemps for her to get it, because we were not at home, she asked if I had wanted to pay cash or by Vrbo, which I originally was told I couldnt. Never was I able to speak to the owner. There was an elevator which I was told only the owners had a key. I am having knee surgery when I get back and that would have made it much easier. The porch had cigarette butts and human hair on it when we arrived. There was garbage left over from the last renters. We smelled it until Tuesday went it was picked up. The amount of flies was unbelievable. It stated there was a grill to use. There was no propane for it only a chacoal grill. There was listed ping pong table and satellite tv. We never saw a ping pong table. There was recorded shows on it or you could sign into your own Netflix account. None of the tvs in bedrooms worked. On Sunday I asked for key to golf cart, she stated it was there,it was on the outdoor tv ring. We could not get it to work. She stated that last weeks renters had problems with it charging. We decided not to rent it. I was very stressed the first to days of vacation. I feel they should have met us at some time and explain where everything was and what we had access to. I could text her but I was on vacation and did not want to spend it chasing her around. Very poor management and communication. The house was very nice, but I will make sure things are more clear next time, even though I feel on my part I made it clear.

Another great stay at Ocean Lakes

We have stayed at Ocean Lakes 3 times now. This was another awesome stay! The Smileys getaway property was great for our group of 9, (4 adults, 1 teen, 4 under 10) house was clean and in a great location on the campground. Close enough to the amenities but far enough away from the hustle and bustle as well. We arrived the day after Dorian had left the area and were pleasantly surprised with how well the house looked. Cindy the property manager was quick with her responses and had all the answers we needed to get settled in and get our vacation into full swing. Can’t wait to get back here again already!! To the smileys, thank you so much for sharing your home, to Cindy and her husband thank you for all your help in the process!!

Beautiful House!!!

Our family had an amazing time during our stay!!! The house is beautiful, great host, and with a relaxing environment!!! We will definitely plan on staying here again and would highly recommend to anyone looking to stay at Smileys!!!

Perfect vacation
