7 BEDROOMS, 3 BATH BEACH HOME in a family-oriented community. House is located less than 250 yards from the beach at Site #1140 in Ocean Lakes.

Lifeguards, patrolling security/courtesy service, and a 10 MPH speed limit makes this a really safe vacation place where you can just 'let the kids go.' The home is fully equipped and professionally furnished to make your stay a pleasure in every way. Facilities on site include a heated indoor pool an outdoor Olympic size pool & three kiddie pools, three snack bars and an arcade with 80+ games, playgrounds, basketball courts, shuffleboard, miniature golf, a full-time recreation staff, and a mile of beach all within the community grounds.

Seven bedrooms:

The host never communicated back after reaching out twice. The place was dirty. We were charged a cleaning fee, but when we arrived my wife and another friends wife had to clean the place. The air return was stopped up with the filter being nasty, and too small… the air vents were covered in mold, the floors were so dirty that our children’s feet were black and we had to wash the sheets to ensure they were clean because of stains on the linens.

House was not clean, VRBO didn’t explain this property was in the middle of campground. The bedding in the downstairs bedrooms were stained and dirty; we needed to wash them before we used them. The bathroom vents need to be cleaned along with the tubs and the washer/dryer combo sounds like a B52 bomber taking off on the spin cycle shacking the entire house. Great property if you have kids and want to stay in a campground setting. Just not for golfers.

Upon arrival the house appeared to be in normalCondition, until the roaches started crawling out of the cracks in the table and up the walls in the living room. The owner is aware of his bug problem as upon further investigation, I found Similar complaints. I message The owner on day 2 no response. There was a hole behind the couch the bugs may have been coming from. No response. Then day 3 we decided to leave early, and found an anxiety med pill under the dresser. So dangerous as we had small children with us. House has not been cleaned, dust bunnies under dresser and beds, including the stray drug left behind, caked dust on vents, dirty hand prints on bedroom walls, roach traps in every room out in the open, just gross. Ocean Lakes is great but find a different place to rent.

14 of us stayed at the property for a Family Vacation. We were able to fit 4 SUVs under the house and had 1 at the overflow lot. The Owner had good communication and quickly helped when there was an issue with the AC. Close to the beach access and had everything we needed.

Property not as appears in pictures. Home could be lovely, but multiple areas left w/o attention/repair. Multiple ceiling vents moldy, sofa/loveseat extremely dirty & DR table/end tables water damaged, washer had missing leg. If ran, extremely unbalanced & loud making it impossible to use while in the home, what began as a few small roaches (I'm familiar w/ palmetto bugs & these were not them) became an army & came from behind appliances, drawers & cabinets, preventing us to feel safe to put food in kitchen. I bought ant/roach spray to try to decrease this w/o any help. This increased our expense as we typically eat breakfast & lunch in the home & created distress each time we seen one come out. Told previous renters had busted deck table & replacement didn't arrive until day before we were leaving. Delivery guys left it downstairs w/o any cushions. Didn't bring it up to the deck. Maintenance guy showed up on Tuesday to say he was going to fix the washer & bring table replacement. Never fixed the washer while we were there. Linen package included few towels/washcloths w/ washer in need of repair, made it difficult to wash along w/ beach towels much less clothing before returning home. Stayed 35 years at OL and this, by far, was the most disappointing. I understand cosmetics can't be controlled, but cleanliness, roaches & mold should be taken care of. Beds were comfortable & location to beach good. Owner's responsiveness poor. Sad, as OL is our happy place.

Cleanliness

When we arrived to this home, the cleanliness was not up to our standards, but we ignored this. The next morning, we woke up to make breakfast before heading out to the beach. When we opened the cabinet to get the pans out, there were roaches everywhere. We went to the store and bought foggers for the house, fogged the house while we were on the beach. I reached out to the owner and was told they were palmetto bugs and “can’t be killed” and they spray monthly for them. Part of the way thru the week, the water pressure in the upstairs bathrooms was nonexistent. We were not even able to flush the toilets. The owner stated that he would work with me at the end of the week to come up with a resolution to our problems, but did not reach back out. Parking is out of the homeowners control, but getting in and out of the house was not easy, very tight quarters for parking. Recommend only taking cars. Very difficult to get full size SUV or trucks into the parking spots available.

Ocean Lakes Property

The sute was big which we loved. We had a huge party so we app the space. The house was pretty dirty. Stained linens, things covered in dust, holes in the bathroom and balcony doors we couldn’t open. And palmetto bugs all over the house. Also, we got there and the trash was outside. It had never been picked up and was already full so we had nowhere to place our garbage, plus it stunk. The campgrounds were great. We loved the waterpark. We definitely will be back to Ocean Lakes again but probably a different property.

Beds for heads.

Best thing was location- walk to beach and beds for everyone. Decor- fun but dirty carpet, holes in wall and door. It was clean but "water bugs" were not expected. Plates for ten but cookware was not upto par had to buy my own to use. Deck was large but nails popping up made it hard for crawling infant. Owner communication was ok but reponse was I don't do in regards to propane, Ocean lakes management wouldn't help becasue we did VRBO. Our pricing was much higher than friends who went through Ocean Lakes so I was expecting a high end rental. Sun and sand were great!

Ocean lakes serenity house

Dirty place. Floors, couch’s, rugs, counters filthy. Have not been cleaned. Carpet gray but looked black from dirt. Our smallest child broke out in a rash bc he is of crawling age. First thing we did was go out and buy cleaning supply to clean the floor at least. Rug had dog hair on it. Unable to reach host before and after stay. He did respond to my husband twice. No running ice maker, washer/dryer made a horrible noise the whole time and shook the place. We turned it off. Unsafe place -spindle on Balcony broken. Our child almost fell off.

Dead bugs in every room. Ants crawling all in the kitchen coming around outlet. Nasty under the beds hadn’t been swept. Tub drain stopped up. Ac was out. Refrigerator didn’t work pictures are misleading. Very tight space. Location is bad. Has no road to get to house must drive down ally. If you have a suburban you can forget about parking here owner was out of town and the number he gave for any issues they could care less when I called them. I paid $4000 for this house and lost our food and burned up for 5 days. Very poor place to stay. If your going to ocean lakes look for another rental

Family Stay

Good location, with enough room for our large family. Over all the house was clean and in good shape. Biggest issue was the porch and downstairs lights not working. Owner was quick to respond that he was aware of the issue and working to get them fixed as soon as possible.

Vacation

The house is in a great location. It is overall a nice place but several things need fixing. The washer and dryer makes a ton of loud noise (banging)when it runs. The house needs a good detail cleaning. The vents were clogged and the walls had access dust on them. The floors were not swept when we got there but we did it. Not an huge deal. Overall we enjoyed our stay and the house was large enough for everyone. Thank you.

First Trip to Ocean Lakes

Overall our stay was a positive one. We really enjoyed the activities at Ocean Lakes and the convenience of having so many amenities on the compound. The Unit was a very short walk to the beach, which was very convenient for us. Bedrooms are decent size and there is a TV in each bedroom. We had some issues with the cable going out and the in-unit dryer broke down. Kevin, the owner, was very responsive and was able to resolve the cable issues quickly. He was not able to get the dryer replaced during our stay, but reimbursed us for having to use the on site laundromat. If you stay at Ocean Lakes you will definitely want to rent a golf cart in order to efficiently acess all the amenities.
