The Town of Wayland code enforcement officer came out for a visit and inspected the cottage. It meets all codes and is in compliance. The inspector was confused because you reported that it smells like gas and there is no gas in the cottage which you NEVER reported to me. He told us that you notified him 5 days after you checked out. He said you did not call 911 which it what you should do if you really smelll gas. Coincidentally you called him the same day we filed an insurance claim for the shower damage and missing bedding. The cottage is built into the side of a hill and offers extra sleeping space with extra amenities for lakeside enjoyment (kitchen, bathroom, patio, deck, grill).

This disgruntled guest allowed several other people (non-guests) to party at our lake property. Someone brought a dog and left it unattended. Three different, nearby neighbors complained to us about the continuous barking during the party. Then, our cleaning crew found smelly, yellow stains on the upstairs carpet. A portion of this reviewer’s security deposit was used to pay to have the carpet cleaned before new guests arrived. This property is unique because it offers both a house and a cottage for guests. This allows for privacy when sleeping and has two, separate full kitchens allowing for flexibility when cooking. Some guests eat at the house while others enjoy cooking and eating on the large outdoor patio right next to the lake. Two new grills have been available all season (a large one at the house and a second one on the cottage patio). The old grill referenced in the review was unhooked and clearly marked with a sign not to use it. It has been removed from the property. Wifi is available for all guests. Our Netflix account on the 55 inch television in the living room of the house was accessed several times during their stay, indicating that internet did in fact work during their stay. The reviewer did inform us that the cottage television would not connect to the wifi. My husband responded and tried to resolve the problem. Unfortunately, he had to call Spectrum for a service call and they were slow to respond. The reviewer texted us that it was not a problem and that he was using his computer to access Netflix at the cottage. We are responsive home owners who enjoy sharing our unique properties with others. The house and cottage are well-maintained and clean. We use the garage as storage and it is not listed as an amenity for guests to use.

Eva and her family enjoyed our property. They communicated often and were respectful of the house rules. They were quiet and respectful to the neighborhood community and enjoyed nearby Stonybrook Park during the day.
