Location location location

Great location in Key Colony neighborhood that includes access to a private pool/beach club. This is a 2 minute walk down the street and there’s also a great restaurant/bar/live music next to the club. The private beach was awesome and there are chaise lounges to use plus some days there’s food/drink service on the beach. Loved the house and the backyard. Clean and great AC. 2 bed/2 bath was just what we needed. Would visit again to this house.

Great Spot!

Great stay at Lazy Tortuga on Key Colony Beach! Super clean, exactly as advertised and a perfect location! Tons to do in and out of water! We journeyed to The Dry Tortugas, went to the Dolphin Research Center, hiked at the Crane Hammock Center, some Florida Parks trails, etc. amazing spot, an easy drive to Key West and surrounding area. The Cabana Club membership is great too! House is a perfect dinner spot with birds and a few manatee. Super quiet and everything worked well! Would definitely stay again!

Comfort in Paradise

The property was in excellent condition, exactly as pictured in the listing. All measures were taken to ensure guests have everything they need for a worry-free and comfortable stay. The beautiful and relaxing backyard overlooking the canal provided the perfect start and end to the day, before and after heading out to adventure a bit. The property is in close proximity to the Cabana Club, making it super convenient to access with a quick walk if you choose not to drive and park. We all enjoyed our time at the Lazy Tortuga highly recommend this property! 🏝️

Well equipped, and close to everything

The beach club is nice. The Sunset beach is beautiful. The condo is well stocked and has a nice yard by the canal. You are sharing the yard with the other renters. A boat blocks their view of the canal. The management company is very responsive.

Great Fishing HQ

Went down to marathon with a group of friends to fish for a week. This place could not have been a better fit for our fishing HQ. Canal access made everything super convenient. Just rent the boat and drive it back to the house. Dock is really nice and comes with filet table/hose. Store all your tackle in the downstairs pingpong/pull out couch room at night, throw it in the boat in the morning and you’re off fishing. The house is located on what’s essentially a small island residential neighborhood/town all its own called key colony beach. KCB has a few places to eat, a bait shop (accessible by boat), a sunset park, and the cabana club. The cabana club is a five minute walk from the house and features a pool, bar, jacuzzi, and beach access. The house has a few beach towels you can bring to the club, but you may want to bring your own. This was my fourth straight year coming to the middle keys to target big migratory tarpon, which are there in May and June. The house is within a relatively short (45) min boat ride to the famous Bahia Honda bridge, where people travel from all over the world to catch tarpon in the spring. If fishing isn’t your thing, there’s snorkeling at sombrero reef and partying out at the sandbar, both of which are close to the house. The inside of the house is really nice. Other places in the keys can feel dated and have a good few layers of salt on them. This place has high ceilings, a nice kitchen, and updated bathrooms. At the time I stayed there (may ‘22), it needed a new fridge - doors didn’t stay closed, fridge old compared to everything else being top notch. Bait freezer downstairs more than made up for the old one upstairs. Pots and pans did everything we needed them to - fry/sauté fish, make breakfast; no complaints there. I had five people stay there and it was comfortable for everyone. Note that the pingpong/pull out couch room downstairs (also where bait freezer is) is separate from the main, upstairs part of the house. There’s no bathroom down there, but our short straw buddy who stayed down there had no issue with it. Overall this is the best place I’ve stayed at in the last four years of vacationing in the keys. Whether you’re fishing or just relaxing, I’d highly recommend staying here. Now that I’ve stayed there, I don’t think I’ll want to stay anywhere else.

This property is awesome. Clean, Great location and very up-to-date. So happy we stayed at Lazy Tortuga. Area and access to Cabana Club was a plus. Hope to come back and stay here again.

Great!

We love this place! So clean and wonderful! Middle Keys are the best snorkeling in the US and the turtle hospital is doing amazing work. Just wish we had 24/7 access to the beach (only access through the Cabana Club - which is incredible! - but only open 10am-7pm so we had to drive to public beaches for sunrise/sunset.) Otherwise GREAT PLACE!

Beautiful little duplex

Cute Tortuga decorations. Lovely view of channel no blocked view Block and a half walk to Club pool and beach. That place had great drinks and food. Friends said the master bed was rough on their backs. We stayed in two bed room. Beds were very firm and we did fine. Would definitely stay again conviently located in the middle keys.

Amazing Week!

We had a wonderful week staying in this beautiful location! The house was so nicely updated, very clean, and had everything that we needed to enjoy our time there. We especially loved the convenience of the boat rental, fuel dock, fishing and diving supplies, and restaurants. It took us 14 minutes to get out to one of our diving spots!! We had a great experience!

2019 lobster season

This is the third year in a row we have vacationed in the keys and this rental was the best by far. Everything was perfect and we will definitely keep this rental on our list of places to stay. Thank you so much for making our stay so fun and easy. We felt at home as soon as we walked in.

Great place for a girls getaway. Unit was well maintained. Quiet area. Had privileges at Cabana Club for pool and beach. Had great Happy Hour Times at Sparky’s Landing and Havana Jack’s. Would definitely rent again.

Perfect Family Keys Vacation Spot!

The Lazy Tortuga is phenomenal! Very comfortable, well-appointed, and beautifully decorated, it really puts you in a great frame of mind to enjoy your vacation. On par with the interior, the outdoor space is a great place to relax and enjoy amazing evening skies or cool breezes from approaching storms. If poolside is more your cup of tea, it's only a three minute walk down quiet streets to the Cabana Club, where you can sip cocktails and take a refreshing dip in water that I think is refrigerated. Key Colony is quiet and relaxed pace, but perfectly situated for day trips to Islamorada, Key West, or anywhere in between. If you're like us, though, the feature that will really make your vacation special is the dock out back (plenty of room for our 24 footer) and the easy ocean access to some of the best diving and fishing in the keys. A five minute idle takes you to open water and only a three mile run to Coffin's Patch, or eight miles to Sombrero Light for snorkeling. The Marathon Humps are only about 22 miles to the southeast, and there's plenty of fish to be caught closer to shore. We motored out to catch a sunrise one morning, and took a quick trip Gulf-side through Vaca Cut the next evening for a sunset dinner at Keys Fisheries. When you get back to the dock in the afternoons, the manatees greet you and comically drink water from the hose while you wash down your boat! We loved the Lazy Tortuga, and look forward to having an opportunity to visit again.

PERFECT vacation home

The Lazy Tortuga is a simply amazing , completely updated, beach flare that made our vacation perfect. From the time we walked into this charming , immaculate , updated home away from home we were hooked. The kitchen is completely updated, the living area cozy and warm, sleeping accommodations perfect . Walk outside to yard and you are in seventh heaven. From the palm trees to the wide open lagoon , it is serenity at its finest . A short walk to the cabana where you can enjoy the pool and the beach while relaxing with a cocktail . Sunset beach for amazing and romantic sunsets , small quaint shops and fishing are all nestled in this community. Close proximity to Sombrero beach and Bahia Honda . You "will not" be disappointed . We will definately be back!! Thank you Lazy Tortuga for making our vacation PERFECT !!!!

Very nice, updated and clean.

The Lazy Tortuga was the perfect fit for our vacation. It was very clean, everything was updated and in perfect condition. The unit was very tastefully decorated and comfortable. There was plenty of parking for our SUV and boat trailer. Having our boat right out back was great with only a short trip idling to open water. The two big palm trees out back provide great shade for relaxing with the sunset. Only a short walk to the Cabana Club/Pool/Food. I look forward to renting there again.

Beautiful, comfortable, amazing!

It's hard to believe this is a rental! Everything is top of the line, from the beautiful and well stocked kitchen to the gorgeous bathrooms and bedrooms. This is the most elegant yet comfortable home imaginable. So clean, the counters gleam! We had a 25ft skiff we easily docked just outside our door, and appreciated the ease of getting to the bay or ocean. Great bbq for the Mahi Mahi we caught!! The cabana club beach was fun, & we were happy we could lap swim in the pool before it opened to the public. We are already planning our next stay in the lazy tortuga~absolutely loved it! Being near great beaches like Bahia Honda & wonderful restaurants & bars makes this the ideal location.
