This was our second stay, and we are just as pleased this time as we were the first. The home is clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped with everything needed for a week of fun and relaxation. The sunrise views are absolutely beautiful, and the turf grass is such a nice touch, it made sitting outside even more enjoyable. Mellisa is always responsive and helpful with any questions. We truly enjoyed our time here and will definitely be back.This location is prime for its beautiful views, a varity of dining options, outdoor activities in a laid-back community that you will feel safe in.

Good location and good for pet owners. We did stay for a month Home does need repairs and could use a deep clean. Pictures are not accurate of amenities. Different smaller lanai furniture, bikes are different and in poor shape ( rusted). Living room window had very large cracks on the outside and outside lights to entrance were out. (I did alert owner beginning of 3rd week ,lights were changed 3 days before we left. 1 stadium chair was broken and pool noodles were rotted. I was told to throw them out. Owner did communicate promptly and was very nice. Kitchen could use basic cleaning supplies (windex, etc) and general spices, pepper for example. Does have new washer and dryer and beds weee comfortable.

We’re glad you enjoyed the location, found the beds comfortable, and had a positive experience with communication. That means a lot to us. We do want to address a few of your concerns. The crack on the living room window is on the exterior pane only and does not affect the integrity or safety of the home, but we understand how it may look concerning and are working toward a full replacement. The exterior light was replaced as soon as possible once brought to our attention, and we appreciate your patience there. Regarding the bikes, outdoor items, and a few accessories like the chair and pool noodles—these are provided as courtesy items and, due to the coastal environment, can experience wear more quickly. That said, we are in the process of refreshing and replacing several of these items in the next two weeks. Cleanliness is something we take very seriously, and your feedback has been shared with our cleaning team to ensure a more thorough deep clean moving forward. We will also review the inventory of basic supplies to improve the guest experience. As for the lanai furniture and amenities, we do periodically update items, but we will revisit our listing photos to make sure they accurately reflect what guests can expect. Thank you again for your stay and for taking the time to share your thoughts—it helps us continue to improve.

We stayed at this property for one month. When we arrived, the place appeared generally clean, although a few details have been missed-for example there was spaghetti left on the countertop and the kitchen sponge hadn’t been changed. The unit was also very cold when we arrived, and we spent the first night uncomfortable. The owner was very responsive and by the second night brought two heaters, which made a big difference and improved our comfort. Some of the amenities could use a little updating. The kayaks were quite worn in the bikes were not rideable due to rust. The doors to the lanai also needed some repair and did not close properly. Overall, the host communicated quickly, but the property could benefit from more thorough cleaning and some maintenance, particularly for a longer stays.

Thank you for your feedback. Upon being notified of the items mentioned at check-in, our cleaning team promptly returned to address the concerns. We strive to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and respond quickly when anything is brought to our attention. Regarding the temperature, the Florida Keys experienced an unusual cold front during your stay. While heaters are not typically necessary in this area, we made arrangements and personally delivered two heaters within 24 hours to ensure your comfort. As for the amenities, the kayaks and bicycles are functional and regularly used. We will continue to monitor their condition, but they are available and operable for guest use. The lanai doors are equipped with a soft-close mechanism by design, and no operational issues have been identified. We take all feedback seriously; however, we also make every effort to address concerns promptly during a guest’s stay, which we did in this case.

Relaxing Keys Getaway

We had an excellent stay at the Half Duplex. We visit the Keys about every other year and this place was perfect for my husband, myself and our friend. Key Colony is a great location and the house was just what we needed. The beds were very comfortable and we enjoyed the kayaks as well as the bikes. The Sunrises from the dock or the porch every morning were simply amazing. The host was great to work with and quick to answer questions.

Excellent location with water views on both sides of the property! This is a great central keys location with direct fishing access as well as a boat slip if you have one. Better suited for families since you have to walk through the guest bedroom or exit outside to access the kitchen or main living area from the master bedroom. Clean and comfortable. kayaks, bikes, and fishing rods included.

Wonderful Holiday Stay!

Great stay at this property over the holidays! Check in/check out were painless. The place was spotless! Melissa is a wonderful host who is readily available via text to answer questions. Location was perfect for visiting various spots in the Keys and the Cabana Club was so wonderful! Would absolutely stay here again!

Great place to stay whether fishing or relaxing~!!

The place is very clean and accommodating! Close to everything! Owner is very easy to communicate with. Place is nicely decorated. Loved fishing off the pier and having the fish cleaning table. The fish and bait freezer was a huge plus! Would definitely recommend to family and friends!!

Relaxing Water Views!

We had a relaxing week in KCB with beautiful water views. The back porch is a comfortable place to watch the sun come up with a cup of coffee, and it was great to have beach chairs and kayaks available for use. The location was perfect for exploring the Keys from Islamorada to Key West; nothing was a far drive. The bedrooms and baths have been nicely updated and we found the king bed to be very comfortable. Melissa checked in on us to make sure we had everything we needed and was quick to respond to our questions.
