From the start, Wayne was very good with getting in touch with me and offering information that I needed. 2025 annual golf trip

Twenty of us stayed at this property for our annual golf trip. We rented both properties and both properties were more than we expected. Plenty of room for 20 of us, we did heat the pool and spent every afternoon enjoying the sun. Kitchens are well appointed with a large refrigerator in both units. Couldn't be happier with our stay and will most likely try to rent this property the same weekend next year.

Good, but...

Great location right on the beach, awesome pool and pool deck with lots of tables and chairs. The house was nice but no way 44 people would be comfortable! The shared bathrooms are way too small to accommodate that number of people (we had 24 people and it was doable). Also, I guess this is a trend, but not supplying bath towels (you have to order those separately) and having to make all the beds when you arrive is a bit annoying, as is having a very limited number of kitchen towels.

Perfect location right at the beach. The weather was great, all of our family really enjoy the time there. The house was bit out dated but everything was in good clean condition. Overall, great property.

Beautiful homes

My family and I enjoyed rented both of these homes for a long awaited vacation after Covid. The house was beautiful and there were many pros. We also felt there were some cons. Pros - location is incredible. You can sit on your deck in the morning, drink coffee and watch the ocean. The house was recently remodeled so it was in beautiful condition. The beach was clean, not very crowded and we even saw dolphins which was a huge plus. There of lots of shops and miniature golf in walking distance which made things fun for us. The grocery store is 5 minutes away as well. The location was truly amazing as well as the view. Cons - listed on the amenities it says heated pool, this is something that we found out is an additional fee and we felt that was misleading. Also, you are not able to open any of the windows or adjust the air conditioning below 68. This was a huge disappointment for us. There were times where it was cool outside but were told if the windows were opened the air would shut off and the owner would have to manually reset. He also has the temperature in the house set to change at different times of the day. So we would leave for the beach, come back and the house was 75. We would have to readjust then and wait for it to cool down, every day.. even at 68, it was hot inside. We had trouble with wifi almost every day and needed to reset breakers several times which didn’t actually solve the problem as a whole. This affected people’s ability to watch TV in their rooms as well as stream from the wifi. Unfortunately, my daughter got 2 large splinters in her foot from the deck and it was quite traumatic trying to remove them. It could use some updates and possibly a refinish. There were also several nails sticking out of the deck that were stepped on and we ended up nailing down as we came across them. Propane tanks are not provided just in case you’re wanting to grill, that’s an edition so fee. Linens and towels are provided but they leave them in a bag on the curb and everyone has to make their own beds. This was something new to us. Also, no garbage cans in the bedrooms which is very minor but maybe a suggestion. Overall, our trip was fantastic but there were definitely some negative points. The owner does have good communication, however I felt some things were left out in the beginning. We would likely book again even with the things we dealt with because the location is so amazing.

Wonderful Vacay

The house is wonderfully located, clean, and very well laid out for big groups. The pool area is amazing but I really liked how it was below the deck and path to the beach. We had lots of younger kids so we didn’t have to worry about them walking right out and being at the pool.

Family beach trip

The property was very nice. The manger was a very nice person, he help me with everything that I needed while we were at the property. The house was very clean and spacious. We enjoyed the weekend.

BEAUTIFUL PROPERTY

We had the best time here in OIB. We had never been and with the help of the owners they truly made our stay fantastic. We couldn't of asked for a better getaway for a week. The property was so clean, so up to date, beds were comfortable and the property was perfect for our large family. We loved being right on the ocean and the sunrise views were spectacular every morning. The pool we loved, and was the perfect size for such a large group. We look forward to returning to OIB in the future and will for sure contact Wayne if we have this large of group again. To sum this up.... this place is amazing and we loved it. Wayne was great to work with. Thank you

Birthday Beach Party Bash

This house was amazing, it was perfect to share with visiting family from out of state. We hosted my son's birthday party there and shared an amazing week long birthday beach party bash. There was space for everyone to spread out when they needed some personal space but intimate enough that everyone could participate in the festivities just a few feet away. The property owner was very helpful and checked in regularly to make sure everything was going well and to ensure there no issues or concerns that needed to be addressed. When our birthday bash came to an end, my son was very sad to be leaving his "birthday beach house." We will definitely check this out again!!!

Owner Stole Damage Deposit, Worst Rental Experience

Please read! Although the house is in a great location and can hold a lot of people, it is not worth the high price or dealing with the Owner. There is another 1-star review similar to this one that I wish I had read before the booking. The owner had us pay the first nonrefundable payment through VRBO but then required the remaining payments, damage deposit, rental agreement, and all communication to be done outside of VRBO which VRBO does not recommend and can not protect your trip this way. The VRBO website even states that “criminals prefer these payment methods” of mailing checks. DO NOT MAIL HIM ANY CHECKS. The AC broke on one side of the property, which the owner was not able to fix, so we moved a TV to a covered outdoor area in order to be able to watch it (the house was too hot and all other air conditioned areas with a TV had young children napping). We have a similar TV we leave in a covered outdoor area permanently at our own home, so it was not done to be malicious or careless. Everything was in working condition when we left the property. After we left the property, the owner sends me, a pregnant mom of young kids, an aggressive text message with screenshots from a security camera of us moving the TV. He obviously watched all of the footage of a camera he had that he had not disclosed on the property listing (another VRBO violation). We have young kids and babies that are now on film that this Owner watches. Again, see a similar 1-star review of the property where this happened. This is not a one-time thing. After calling us “entitled”, posting about us on his personal Facebook page, and being very aggressive, he has yet to return any damage deposit or provide any receipts for damages. We have rented numerous times through VRBO and have never had an issue, but this experience was terrible. We would be happy to pay for any damages that we caused, but the Owner took advantage of us and will not respond to any messages via email or VRBO messaging. He violated his own contract that he sent us to sign (sent us outside of VRBO of course) and has now violated North Carolina General Statutes. VRBO even tried contacting him on our behalf and was unable to. VRBO did not support any damages and told us the Owner has been unable to support his claims thus far. Sadly, we now have to take this to the NC Court System to resolve.

Great location and space

My family loved this place! We missed out on seeing each other last year due to COVID and this was a great location for a relaxing, fun reunion. Right on the beach, plenty of room, and the pool was so clean and gorgeous! Owner is thorough and definitely cares about the property and that you enjoy your stay.

Amazing property for family reunion! Will be back for sure!

My extended family has been doing reunions every few years for over two decades and this was our favorite property yet! We rented both sides to accommodate 32 of us - ranging in age from 1 to 78. The owner was very easy to work with and responded quickly to any question we had in the year leading up to our trip and throughout our rental week. The entire house was beautifully updated and the furnishings were perfect for large groups. Each side had plenty of space to cook and large tables to gather for meals. The pool is amazing with a lot of tables, chairs and shade around the deck. It was great to have a pool for the little kids to enjoy while the older kids were at the beach just steps away. (Of course, the older kids and adults loved the pool, too!) Lastly, the location of this house is ideal. It's just far enough from "town" that there isn't constant traffic or noise, but close enough to walk or bike to dinner, the pier, etc. We could even let the older kids walk the younger ones to putt-putt or to get ice cream knowing they weren't too far away. Do yourself a favor and rent OIB Chillin' 2! You won't regret it!

Wonderful, well-kept beachfront, poolside property

Our first time to beautiful OIB! The duplex/homes were clean, comfortable, well-stocked, and with convenient proximity to stores as needed. Love the easy beach access and views of the waves from everywhere in the house, also the size of this pool and pool deck--there was plenty of room, kids/teens had a blast. Our host was very responsive and always available to answer any questions--contact and communication was very helpful in preparing for the trip and settling in during our stay, which was filled with great memories across three generations of family ~ hope to be back!

Great Views, Great Space, Great Memories

Wonderful memories made! We rented both units for a large family gathering. The owner is easy to work with, very friendly and responsive! He has several properties in Ocean Isle so check them out- The kitchens in both units are very well equipped with more than enough dishes/silverware/pans etc. We did quite a bit of cooking and lacked nothing. Having 12 bedrooms worked well for us. The bedrooms are all pretty much identical. Great beach colors and decor. The mattresses are new and quite comfortable. Bathrooms are all remodeled. There are no bathtubs just showers. The pool is wonderful with plenty of tables and chairs around the deck. Bistro lights make for fun evenings by the pool. Best feature is being oceanfront, enjoying the many rocking chairs, watching the sunrise and just marveling at the awesomeness of God!

Awesome week at gorgeous house

From beginning to end our time at the OIBChillin2 was fantastic! The owner of the property was great and we communicated throughout the week. He even sent us tips of events happening during our stay. Everything was as advertised. We had 4 families and rented both houses.

The house was right on the ocean with a short walk over the dunes. Huge pool was more then ample for our 20+ family. The house was big enough for all of us to be close together. The only downside was we were not all in the same space but it worked out nicely for everyone. The owner was very attentive and responded to any questions that we had during our stay. We would definitely stay there again!! The house was also with in walking distance to beach stores, coffee shops, restaurants, play grounds, putt-putt and Ice cream. Loved it!!!

Family reunion

We had the most wonderful week staying here. The beach, the pool, sitting on the porches listening to the ocean made for a magical week. The setup is perfect for 2 families. We were close together but with enough separation to allow for privacy and downtime. The remodel on the kitchen is beautiful! Bright and modern. We have already booked for next year!

Great stay!

Our group had a wonderful time at OIB Chillin' 2, and Wayne was great to work with- very responsive and accommodating. The location was perfect, and having our own private pool was a bonus. We definitely hope to be back next year!

We are Wayne and Angie Michelli and we have 2 Daughters Ashley and Jenna.
We live in Kingsport Tennessee and have owned a Full Service Seafood Restaurant since 1991. We love to travel and fell in love with OIB in 2008.
I am also a pilot so OIB made perfect sense for our family having the airport located so close to the island to travel back and forth. Angie as a child vacationed in South Myrtle Beach and wanted something close by for day trips to Myrtle Beach. Come find out as many have that OIB gives you an uncrowded beach in a very family friendly location.

We purchased OIB Chillin a 8 bedroom 8 bath Oceanfront home (VRBO#303854) located at 156 East First in the Fall of 2008. We loved Ocean Isle Beach so much we decided to purchase 60 East First in 2018 which will now be know as OIB CHILLIN" 2. We will now have the flexibility to visit OIB during the Summer Season. We have great plans for this home. Current plans include Pool being installed in Fall of 2018 for the 2019 season. Upgrading first floor living and kitchen areas to create a mid-range priced wedding venue to sleep 44 people and have a brides and grooms side of the house so everyone can be together in one location.

Get up every morning and watch the sun rise from the porch overlooking the ocean. You are a few steps from the house to the beach and since this property is only located 1/4 east of the pier it is a easy walk to all the shops
