This perfect cottage off the grand main house in New Orleans ' riverbend district was the antidote for winter's melancholy.My sister and I could hop on the streetcar and go to the Audubon Zoo or further downtown. No car necessary.

We stayed for 2 nights for our daughters graduation at Tulane. The house is extremely well maintained and very convenient to Tulane.The host is responsive and quick to help.We would definitely stay again.

The wifi didn’t work the whole time we were there. The location and neighborhood were 5 stars but the lack of communication and poor cell reception made it so we couldn’t listen to music or work/ even call an uber easily at all from the unit.

I didn't do any cooking. Part of why I go to New Orleans is to eat at the restaurants. The coffee maker and microwave both worked. The AC worked fine which is good because it was unseasonably warm. Great location on streetcar line. Matt, our host, was great. He was very nice and understanding when we locked ourselves out! Sorry, Matt, I'm an idiot.

Clean and Quaint

Matt’s place was charming and perfect for our getaway in NOLA. Great location in historic part of the city. Easy walk to the streetcar to go downtown, or walk to numerous restaurants in the neighborhood. Would stay again if traveling to this area!

Wonderful stand alone cottage in a very nice part of New Orleans. Weekend visit with my daughter/Tulane student. Close to campus, restaurants, and the street car. Host Matt was very easy to reach, responsive and helpful.

It was a nice place and worked out perfectly. The decor was clean and elegant and was within easy walking distance of various places I was going. I didn’t use the kitchen or living room much but it was good to have them available. It’d be perfect for two people.

Second stay was as good as the first

We stayed at the cottage for the second year in a row. It is still a gem in a great area away from the craziness that is sometimes New Orleans. It is comfortable and as advertised. Near great places to eat and (especially if you have a car) convenient to places to visit.

* Surrounded by the beautiful oak trees that have made uptown famous, you’ll love the neighborhood, the people, and the ambiance.
* Be sure to visit the interesting shops and wonderful restaurants in the Riverbend at St. Charles and along Maple and Oak Streets
* Roberts (a grocery store) and Walgreens drugstore are located on the corner of S. Carrollton Ave and S. Claiborne Ave (a quick drive or street car ride away). * If you choose to drive to the Cottage there is convenient off street parking available.
* Don’t want to drive around the city? Leave your car parked and jump on the St. Charles Ave. streetcar line to get to downtown, Audubon Park, the French Quarter, the Convention area and Bourbon Street. Uber and Cab services can also provide quick access to much of the city within minutes.
* Several restaurants and bars are within walking distance (Boucherie, Bourree, Lebanon Café, Thai Mint, Panchita's, Pho Bistro, Oak Wine Bar, Ale, Jacques Imo's, Chiba, Ninja). Oak St. is 5 short blocks away with bars and great local restaurants. The world famous original Camellia Grill is a short drive away on S. Carrollton.

The Cottage is a private residence located in the historic, quiet uptown neighborhood of Carrollton. It is a comfy stand-alone one bedroom, one bath with a full kitchen and living room that also has a private fenced in brick patio for your enjoyment. The living room has a sofa which converts into a queen size bed.
For easy access around the city the St. Charles Ave. streetcar line stops within a 2 minute walk from the cottage and is only $1.25 per ride or $3.00 per day with a Jazzy Pass. Restaurants, shopping and nightlife are also conveniently located within walking distance but far enough away to keep the noise down during your stay. Guests have access to a private fenced in brick patio. The cozy outdoor space has a wrought iron table with 4 chairs for enjoying gorgeous southern nights with good friends. It’s a great hangout spot for outdoor dining while sipping cocktails, drinking wine or just relaxing after a busy day exploring the city.
* Jazz Fest, Bayou Boogaloo, Boo at the Zoo, Vodoo Music Fest, French Quarter Fest, Freret Street Festival, Tennessee Williams/ New Orleans Literary Festival, Running of the Bulls, Red Dress Run – all NOLA festivals are located less than 20 minutes away!
