If you are fortunate enough to stay in Martine's home, you are in for a treat; it really makes you feel at home in Paris. The apartment is delightful, has all the things you need. The kitchen is fully equipped including a washing machine and dryer. Lots of little shops and supermarkets nearby, and Martine helpfully provides a list of the closest/best.Everything is technically walkable, but there is a metro stop just down the steps if needed.Sitting in the window watching Paris from the hill of Montmartre is a cherished memory.

Great traditional accommodation. Comfortable spacious and with great views. Nice kitchen. Bedrooms comfortable. Great location but be prepared to climb a lot of stairs. Only problem is no space to put your folded clothes in the bedrooms. But I could live with that given the exceptional place.

Great stay

Martine was so friendly and gracious. She bought peonies, which she left for us during our sojourn. There was an excellent cafe across the street and we enjoyed several dinners there.

Unforgetable stay in Paris

Unforgetable due to the Olympic Games but also thanks to the great accommodation. The apartment is very nice with a lot of space and a wonderful view over Paris. We felt very welcome and enjoyed our days in Paris a lot!

Incredible location and comfort

We stay in lots of VRBOs, and this one is among the best. Terrific location in Montmartre, and a very homey feel. Lots of space, and very well equipped. Martine made everything perfect.

Amazing location and ambience

In the heart of Montmartre and steps from Sacre Coeur. Martine is a great host and the apartment is comfortable and well equipped. Perfect for 3 or 4 people.

Beautiful charming apartment

Amazing location and a very charming apartment. Lovely restaurants cafes and bakeries very close by. Amazing views from the apartment as well. Metro was very easy to assess. Best part was walking up to the Sacre Coeur at night to watch the Eiffel Towel sparkle. Very memorable trip.

Charming Parisian home in Montmartre

Martine very generously opens her beautiful apartment, her own home, to guests, providing a very personal and nostalgic experience of Montmartre. The location is wonderful, the views superb, everything you need is at hand, and Martine is incredibly warm and welcoming. It's not a modern apartment with the latest appliances, it's a much-loved home full of treasured memories of beloved family and lives well-lived. A retreat in Paris!

This rental was the most comfortable and most homely of any property we have stayed at. Why? Because Martine gave us the home she lives in and gave us a true Parisian welcome! The views of Paris from the top of Montmarte we enjoyed every morning and the lights of the city at night. As long as you enjoy climbing hills to reach the property this is the place for you.

Our week in Paris

We had a marvelous stay in a beautiful home in Paris. The flat is situated in Montmatre so you have to walk many stairs every day but you have also an outstanding view over Paris. The flat is normally the home of the lovely Martine so you can’t use everything thing but it’s ok. We enjoyed our week in Paris and our week in the home of Martine. Merci Beaucoup

A beautiful home in Montmartre

My husband and I were excited to travel back to Paris after many years and Martine’s home was the perfect respite for our journey. Clean, spacious and with wonderful views of both the Eiffel Tower as well as the top dome of Sacré-Cœur, her home provided us with a fantastic welcome to the city. The check in process was easy with Martine there to greet us herself. She was also very accommodating in allowing us to check in early as our flight arrived in the morning. We hope to have the opportunity to stay there the next time we are in Paris. Merci Beaucoup, Martine!

Nice Stay, Great Location

Overall a great location and nice flat. Clean. Spacious. Martine is a lovely host. Entrance/hallways were under construction. Would be a good idea to note in the listing there is an animal that lives in the flat (obviously not there during rental) but anyone with a cat allergy would find it difficult to stay there. My teens needed allergy medications. Other than that, it definitely helped make our Paris trip a memorable one.

Excellent!!

Martine was a wonderful host. The apartment was beautiful and had so many interesting details. It is a 2 floor apartment with the living room and kitchen on the top with wonderful views. This is a home not a sterile rental. Everything is easily accessible as long as you're willing to climb stairs - there are a lot of them to get from the metro to the apartment. There are nearby pubs and there is some background noise but that was part of the charm. Sacre Coeur is close by and the nearest metro takes you to all the popular sights. Martine has a basket of information and metro maps to help you plan your visit. We were 3 adults and never felt crowded. We highly recommend staying here.

Charming two-level apartment in the Montmartre

Martine, the owner of this lovely, spacious apartment, was a very nice and easy person to work with, and I'm so glad we rented her apartment for our two-week stay in Paris. My daughter and I met in Paris to celebrate her birthday and enjoyed every day in the beautiful City of Lights. I've stayed in other Paris arrondissements over the years, however, I thought my daughter would enjoy the Montmartre area because of all the fun local shopping, bistros, sightseeing, etc. This two-level apartment is literally just stairsteps away from the Sacre-Couer and Place du Tertre, two very popular areas for locals and tourists. Another advantage is that it's close to Abbessess metro that can take you anywhere in Paris. The apartment was clean and well stocked; the washer and dryer were easy to use; there was a nice large TV with tons of CDs and DVDs but we didn't take the time to watch TV because we had a nice view of the city from the living room area; it was quiet at night, very welcome after a long day of sightseeing and shopping; the two bedrooms were spacious and it was convenient to have two toilet rooms, one on each floor. When renting an apartment in the Montmartre area, the highest in Paris, do prepare yourself for lots of step climbing; this is why Parisians stay fit! I definitely recommend this apartment for two to four people.

Amazing location, acceptable amenities

LAYOUT It's two floors; 1st is bedrooms. The front room overlooks the street, and behind that is a foyer/hall with a bathroom and stairs to the 2nd level. The second room is in back overlooking a garden. The separation is nice for privacy. The 2nd floor is living/dining in front, kitchen in back. The furniture has lost much of its padding, so enjoying the views isn't as comfortable as you would hope. This 2nd level stops any noises from above from reaching the bedrooms. The rear bedroom is very quiet, with double padded doors, but the bed is an old foam pad flat enough that I had hip cramps all day after sleeping on my side. The front bedroom gets some noise from the street, and the skewed doorframe doesn't let the door close. LOCATION The location is hard to beat, minutes from Place du Tertre, Sacre Coeur, and many restauraunts and shops. You can see Palais Garnier, the Louvre, Hotel des Invalides, the Eiffel tower, and Notre Dame from the living room. Walk a couple minutes to Rue des Abesses and you have all the bread, cheese, eats, and souvenirs you could want. Or see Place du Tertre for even more food and souvenirs. However, you need to be in pretty good shape to stay here. From the stairs in Abesses station, more stairs to Rue Drevet, and two flights in the apartment building, you have ~150 stairs each evening. We thought it was worth it for the location though. AMENITIES Martine lives here, so the amenities are all there but unfortunately so's all her stuff, so it can be hard to find some items, such as the iron, but once you find what you're looking for you're set. The kitchen was a slight letdown. Trying to cook, most things were there but I found only one small chef knife, no tongs, and one rubber spatula. The bathtub drains slowly so you end up in a couple inches of water by the end of your shower. And the bath has a window to the foyer, partly transparent, so you have to ask your friends to stay out of the foyer when you're taking a shower. COMMUNICATION She let us check in at 10am, but then wanted us to check out at 9am. Communication could have been clearer on that. When we asked where the trash bags were she replied quickly. VERDICT Fair to slightly high price. Beds sleep two couples, but bring close friends due to privacy issues. Kitchen enough for sandwiches or a pasta dish, but nothing complex. The caveats are worth it since you're here for Paris, and this is one of the best Parisian neighborhoods. Thanks Martine!

Eine Wohnung mit wunderschönem Blick auf Paris

Die Wohnung ist einfach wunderschön und wir haben uns eine Woche dort sehr zuhause gefühlt. Sie ist der perfekte Ausgangspunkt für den Besuch vieler Sehenswürdigkeiten. Am Abend konnten wir dort wunderbar kochen und das Essen mit Blick auf den Eiffelturm genießen. Die Kommunikation mit Madame Le Gouès war hervorragend. Vielen Dank, dass wir dort wohnen konnten. Wir empfehlen die Wohnung uneingeschränkt weiter!

Great place to stay in Paris

We enjoyed our stay at Martines' apartment. It's really big when compared to Paris sizes. We were 2 couples, so we had plenty of room. There's a great view of the whole city. It's a great location, the area is lovely, and you can feel the Paris vibe. It takes us about 40 minutes to walk to the center, but there's a metro station 5 minutes away that'll take you anywhere you want. We used it for the airport, Versailles, and it was very convenient.

Très bel appartement parisien

Appartement idéalement situé au cœur de Montmartre, à 5’ du S Sacré Cœur. Appartement très lumineux et au calme, au centre d’un quartier animé. Transport public (très) proche, juste quelques escaliers, mais on s’y fait. Vraiment idéal pour visiter Paris en famille. On y reviendra :-)
