The cabin was beautiful and beautifully decorated for Christmas , as we stayed there for the week of Christmas with the grandkids. The sunset and hot tub was an added bonus. The family loved the game rooms and the space they had not to be on top of each other at times.

A very kid friendly/ family stay. We enjoyed purchasing the bison burgers and cooking them for dinner. We enjoyed relaxing by the fire and in the hot tub! I would stay again!

Fantastic Vacation!

We had the best time at Buffalo Creek. The animals around the property were so much fun for our children. They enjoyed feeding them and helping take care of them during our trip. The home itself was very nice and clean. Everything we needed was there upon arrival! We will definitely be returning to stay again!

Great Vaca

What a great spring break vacation. It was my husband, son (11), our dog and myself. The cabin was very nice and spacious. We loved the game rooms downstairs where my son and I would team up to try and beat dad. The hot tub was very nice to relax in. My son and I have sensitive skin and usually break out from others hot tubs but our skin had no negative reactions which was amazing. We loved walking the trails especially our dog and the walking sticks on the front porch were a major plus. Our dog loves to hike and she was so curious about the other animals except the turkey she didn't know what to think of it and it's gobble. We learned a lot about the bison. And what an experience it was to watch them eat and hear some great facts about them. Found some goodies in the shop as well. Everyone we encountered were so friendly we felt as ease just enjoying everything. We stayed in bison overlook and it was nice to look out in the afternoon and see them on the top of the hill eating grass and having fun. Keep in mind that the cabin is just that so you can hear everything especially if you're walking around upstairs but we really enjoyed the place. Can't wait to come back and hopefully with more family in tow.

Magical Stay!

We stayed at the Overlook Lodge for Christmas — and it was one of the best times we had together! A real one of a kind stay. Lodge was spacious, clean, with good-sized bedrooms, and the amenities were a real plus. A wonderfully set up Christmas tree was a great touch! And the fully equipped kitchen made cooking Christmas dinner (and grilling) a breeze. The lodge is also pet friendly which we were really grateful about. Getting a chance to see the goats, mini ponies, and bison everyday made this an unforgettable Christmas for sure. Sunrises at the lodge with a cup of coffee was just the ticket! Just 40 minutes from Asheville and 1.5 hour drive to Pigeon Forge, the lodge was a good central point to explore other towns and the great outdoors. Just to note, the pine flooring between the levels are not fully insulated so noise transfers easily. If you’re a light sleeper, I would highly recommend bringing ear plugs. Overall, I’d definitely recommend booking this place!

Great Location for Making Family Memories

We rented the Bison Overlook Cabin for our family on the weekend my son got married at Palmer's Chapel. Cheryl was great to work with and always responded to any questions I had super quick.When we weren't doing wedding stuff my grand kids (5 and 3) had tons of fun things to do. Buffalo Creek is family owned/run and they made me feel like family. I want to go back and stay when we aren't so busy so I can truly enjoy everything they have to offer. We definitely made a lot of happy family memories!

Beautiful Ranch and Staff

Very quiet and peaceful property. It was fun to see all of the animals and to be able to touch and feed some. Cabin was nice and supplied with lots of equipment for cooking etc. Really enjoyed our stay.

Came to Buffalo Creek for WNCC Annual Conference of United Methodist Denomination for work and holy conferencing and came away rested and renewed because of your wonderful ranch and home. Thank you Jeff & Cheryl for a beautiful experience.

Excellent stay for kids & adults

Bison Overlook was the perfect size for our family of 6! The cabin had plenty to do for the kids inside and out. The swinging bed in the master was really neat! Beautiful views of mountains, bison, and other farm animals from nearly every window in the cabin! Hot tub & fire pit were great. Communication was fantastic as well! We all really enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back!

Wonderful Experience!

We have stayed in many different cabins over the years but our experience at this property was the best of all! We stayed at Bison Lodge and our backyard was full of farm animals that we just fell in love with. The mini horses and baby goats were our favorites and we loved being able to feed them, hold the baby goats, and ride the mini horses. The back porch has a gorgeous view of the mountains and we loved just watching the bison roam and graze. We loved just exploring the property and enjoying the views. The playground was so much for the kids. They loved the pool table, air hockey, and foosball table inside our cabin, too! The cabin was very clean and as Floridians we appreciated that the drive up to the cabin wasn't scary! The road to the cabin is paved and it's easy to get in and out of the parking area. We would love to visit here again!

Lovely time at Bison Overlook Lodge

My family of five (plus one golden retriever) enjoyed our time at this perfectly rustic mountain retreat. We built a fire every night and the kids loved getting up close with the animals. The nearby town of Waynesville has everything you need, including dog-friendly restaurants! We spent a couple days in Asheville, and even made the trek to Dollywood.

What a Gem!

Our family spent a week enjoying every bit of the rental house & property surrounding it! Cheryl, the property manager, was AMAZING - very attentive, helpful (we needed an extra high chair and she came through quickly), and kind. Any questions or concerns we had, Cheryl and her crew were quick to respond and manage. Everyone who works at Buffalo Creek is friendly and sweet! Our very young kids LOVED the animals and ability to see them multiple times a day + the playground nearby. The view is fantastic, the house is well-stocked (plus added bonus of toys & baby/child gear and a dog crate), and everything was clean and welcoming! We will be recommending this location to anyone heading to the area and would love to visit again! Thanks to Buffalo Creek Rentals, Cheryl, and all we encountered!

Bison overlook lodge

Cabin was very clean. Kitchen well stocked with cooking supplies. Sheets and bedding very clean and nice. Plenty of space on deck and the sunrise view was phenomenal in the mornings.

Amazing Ranch Stay

We traveled from Northetn Michigan to the beautiful Bison Overlook cabin! What a treat!! Cheryl the owner was great to work with, the working farm was so much fun for the kids to expwrience, and Bison feeding in mornings were great! Plus they cool great on the grill. Can’t wait to be back.

Best Place to Relax! Kid Friendly!!

We absolutely loved everything about this property. It was perfect for our young kids! They loved seeing the bison feed and especially loved Dory the baby goat and Pumpkin the Turkey! We hiked to the playground and loved exploring! Cheryl was great and very responsive! The kids loved the bunk beds and the basement was stocked full of games! Pool table, air hockey, kids toys and more! The hot tub was clean! And was a nice place to relax when kids were in bed! I highly recommend this for a family friendly vacation!

Perfect family vacation!

We could not have had a better experience! From the impeccable cabin to the phenomenal views, we knew immediately that this was a special place. There were thoughtful touches everywhere. . .our kids loved the Smore basket and coloring books! The playground through the woods, the tire swing and the tetherball were fun daytime adventures. We loved being able to purchase farm fresh eggs and bison (best chili we have ever made). With all of this said, the staff made our trip. Huge thanks to Dennis for going above and beyond to let our kiddos have several amazing experiences with all of your animals. They will forever remember this trip and my oldest is constantly asking for a goat (she named the baby goat Darla)!

Beautiful views

We had a great time at this cabin. We were very surprised when we got there to see that we had a beautiful mountain view! The view wasn't really shown in any of the pictures, but it was beautiful and the top is in the perfect location to view it. We loved seeing all the animals and enjoyed the peace and quiet.

Nice property

Overall the property is okay. We were two couples. Queen bed on main floor is tight for full size adults; master bedroom on second floor has a suspended queen bed, I don't know why as the room is large enough for a regular king bed which would be much more comfortable. There is a full size pool table in the basement game room which is very tight, as you hit the walls with your cue stick. Nice view from the deck, though screens on the patio door would be helpful to let in the breeze without the bugs.

My brothers & my husband had shared a vision of expanding my fathers buffalo ranch when additional property became available to purchase. With all our knowledge & experiences combine we have built 4 log homes & have been renting them out since 2004. All the furniture in this cabin has been handmade by the wood on the property! Even the covered wagon bed, that was custom built my my father. Once my husband retires from the US Army in about 8 yrs our dream will be to build our log cabin on the property & be more hands on. God has blessed us beyond our wildest dreams. We hope you love the mountains like we have all come to love being transplants from a very flat NY!

So many of our previous guest have wrote back & told us they had all these plans to sight see but then just loved hanging out in the cabin together enjoying the game room & the children all love the uniquely designed playground as well as seeing the miniature horse, buffalo, goats & llamas!
