Wonderful condo with an amazing ocean view!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Kapalua Bay Villa 28G2. There were only two of us, but the condo could easily accommodate 4 people, since there's a pull out couch in the living room and there are two full baths. It's on the ground floor overlooking a large grassy area and beyond is an amazing view of the ocean. The coastal ocean trail is below the grassy area but you can't see people walking by, until you get close to the edge of the grassy area. It's only a 10 minute walk to the Kapalua beach and another few minutes to Napili beach, which we like better since it's more sandy and not as rocky.

Wonderful unit, very enjoyable 8 days. Unfortunately, there is not really a convenient beach, so if you are a swimmer, expect a healthy walk.

On your next trip you can use the beach access path just in front of the villa, or if you don't want to take the stairs down to the beach, we offer a FREE shuttle service door to door (or door to sand) do you only have to walk a few steps. Beautiful Kapalua ocean view

We reserved our unit only a few weeks before our stay in early January. The view has been a pleasant surprise. We opted to spend a lot of time just sitting in our 1st floor patio gazing out at the channel towards Molokai and watching for whale spouts or breeches. The windows on 3 sides of the view towards the ocean brings a lot of light into the kitchen/ living room area. The KBM resorts team was very quick to respond to any concerns we had. Finally, it was a nice touch that the rental car was included in the price of our stay. We will watch for KBM properties in the future.

Nov 2018: My wife and I enjoyed our week in spacious, updated, ground-level Bay Villa Unit 28g2. Master bedroom has very nice ensuite. Nice sitting areas. Plenty of cookware, dishes & glasses. Lanai views of ocean and easy walking access to coastal trail and swimming pools. We would rebook without hesitation. Access to unit does involve a flight of outdoor stairs from parking level.

Not as described

Pictures were beautiful- in real life, needs a thorough cleaning and some maintenance and care. Mold in the bathroom. Rust in the fridge. Missing tiles and backsplash. No Tupperware, baggies, zero seasonings in the kitchen. The bed is from 1980, creeks and squeeks and no luxury linens as described. I have plenty of pictures. BUT could not ask for a better or more beautiful location!

Amazing!

Everything about this place was incredible- the check in process was all automated and smooth, with gate/door codes sent via text. I called the day of check-in to see whether checking in early would be possible, and the representative was able to get an update from the property and send over an early access code. It looks like the rates for this particular place can fluctuate a bit, but the price I paid for 3 nights was substantially lower than a majority of places that I could find, and getting that rate to stay at the Bay Villas felt like a steal. The villa itself was gorgeous, with great views from essentially anywhere in the living space. Guest services arranged for a complimentary pack n play and high chair to be in the unit when we arrived. The one bedroom/two bathroom setup was perfect for traveling with a toddler, as we just turned the second bathroom into a nursery (pack n play just fit inside with enough room to close the door). The photos might make you question how obtrusive the maintenance shed is when taking in the view, and it really was not bad at all. We saw plenty of breaching whales from the lanai, and having that lawn in front as opposed to being directly on the ocean was actually perfect for us, as it gave our daughter some freedom to run around without us having to worry about her toddling into the ocean. AC worked great, kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals, and the master shower was over-the-top to the point of making us question the design rationale. Location was secluded, with the villas themselves being a gated resort, and this unit being pretty far down towards the ocean. Still only 20 minutes to Lahaina, and the Kapalua coastal trail is directly out front, which made walking to Kapalua bay to swim super easy. There is a flight of stairs to get down to the unit from street level, which was somewhat challenging with a 50 pound duffle bag, but it was not too bad. There is a way to access the unit without using stairs, it is just a more round about way via a parking lot that has a sloped walkway leading to the lawn out front. Would definitely look into staying here again if we return to Maui!

The main issue we had was pests in the house that we reported but problem wasn’t fixed. (cockroaches, ants, larva, gekko) They sprayed the house but this is simply not enough. Also, be aware the villa next door is renovating the outside and workers are there at 7am on weekdays. Overall not the experience, we were hoping for.

Dust kingdom

Usually I don’t leave bad reviews, unless the place is exceptionally displeasing. Where to begin… the bed was uncomfortably dusty and the headboard made cringe noises at the slightest movements making sleeping impossible. Additionally, the dryer’s lint box was so full and dirty before use. The couch, the carpet, and generally most of the furniture had sticky stains on it. And found bugs on the floor and carpet. I felt more comfortable taking a nap in my rental car than in the villa. Although the location was beautiful, the general dirtiness of the villa made our whole vacation experience uncomfortable that we left to another hotel after the third day. Do not recommend to others and advise that cleaning service cost extra money. Management did not refund for the remaining days we did not stay. Very disappointed and dissatisfied. Will never return!

Regrettably, the workers cut the new tiles on the lanai, and the tile dust carried into all the surrounding apartments. We apologize for the inconvenience. The great news is the construction is long over and the villa is as stunning as ever! This villa was remodeled with an updated walk in shower and large family kitchen.
