The house is in a great location in Key Colony Beach, quiet, central, and right on the water. We loved having space to park our boat and trailer, plus the ability to dock the boat behind the house. The backyard is very cute with a pool, tiki hut, and a small putt-putt area. However, several issues affected our stay. We never received check-in instructions and had to call multiple times on arrival day. The house wasn’t very clean when we arrived, floors had dirt spots, and there was dust on the fans and in the bathrooms. One bed sinks in the middle and both were uncomfortable, so we switched rooms. The kitchen is fully stocked, but many utensils had rust. The listing mentions a grill, but both propane tanks were empty, and we were told the property doesn’t replace them, which felt misleading. Pool workers also entered the yard unexpectedly during our stay and asked us to run the water for 30 minutes. The dock cleats weren’t very helpful for tying up our boat, and the outdoor lighting is very dim at night. We had to use our boat lights to fillet fish. The dishwasher doesn’t clean the top rack due to a missing part, the fridge filter is at “0” so water and ice can’t be used, and a towel rack in the bathroom was hanging loose. The listing also says the home has cable, but there was none, and we had to stream everything from our own devices. Overall, it’s a nicely located property with good potential, but lacks cleansiness and maintenance.
