Una cabaña de concepto abierto completamente amueblada de 1 dormitorio en un lote arbolado en The Ardens. Esta acogedora casa de campo se encuentra en un vecindario tranquilo y seguro y respalda los bosques con un arroyo y un sendero para caminar. Usted tiene su propio patio trasero que respalda el bosque, así que relájese y tenga una hoguera.

The cottage was a relaxing and very comfortable place to stay! Everything we needed was there, including a fenced yard for the dogs, plenty of pillows and blankets, great internet , and even coffee and half and half! It was a fully stocked home away from home. Susan was an excellent host, friendly and helpful and instantly responsive when we had questions. I highly recommend the cottage, it was quiet and peaceful, yet so close to anywhere we wanted to go!

We had a wonderful month-long stay. Susan was wonderfully accommodating. Any issues we had with anything, Susan was quick to address. Place was clean and perfect for our dog. Dusk was our favorite time of day watching the local fox population in the field right in front of our cottage. Making new friends is always nice.

Thank you for the lovely review. I’m so sorry that you found it to be cold. It was one of those brutal weeks. When you called me, I was there within 10 minutes. The temperature at that time registered at 81 degrees in the cottage. I explained that heat pumps go through a defrost cycle 4x an hour for four minute. That is 4 minutes that it’s not blowing hot air. There are 2 heat pumps in the 650 sqftcottage. They cycle at different times and the heat remains constant. There is a standalone heater as well as a fireplace.

Property was as pictured. Nice and quiet area. Susan was very welcoming (thanks again for the birthday cake!) and very responsive to messages. The wife and I (and our pup) enjoyed a nice weekend there and would definitely go back.And for the internet dependent people, don't worry, there's is Verizon Fios internet available!

Cozy cabin

This is as it states it is a rustic cabin set back off the road.We enjoyed our stay in the Wilmington area. To get great seafood we recommend REEF Seafood and Steak

Beautiful cottage and very welcoming host

My fiance and I stayed here for a week while I was doing some work in Philly. Susan was a great host very responsive with messages and made our stay very comfortable. I highly recommend and plan on visiting again.

Weekly stay in Wilmington

Very nice cottage. Secluded, fenced yard great for dogs. Convenient to restaurants, shopping, and close to Philly. Comfortable, well stocked kitchen. Had everything we needed. Very nice host. Will stay there again in the future.

Arden Cottage

This rustic cottage was exactly as described and fit our needs perfectly for our stay. Our host met us on our arrival to show us to and around the cottage (they live on the property as well but not intrusive at all) and communicated before and during our stay. The cottage had everything we needed including a fenced backyard area for our dog. Plus taking walks in the Arden area was extra bonus!

Quiet Cozy Getaway

Very cozy cottage. Good for 2. Well stocked. A very quiet neighborhood. Had everything we needed for our stay. Excellent communication with property manager. Very dog friendly. We stayed with 2 dogs. Will definitely stay again!

A terrible, horrible, no good, very bad stay

The property is not as advertised. We arrived in the evening. We were led by the host, Susan past what appeared to be a very large trash heap, through overgrown trees and bamboo and other growth to a cabin. There were several pieces of furniture, apparently discarded, along the way. Susan said it was a very unkempt property. There were several bags of dog poop by the door to greet too! She said she did not have time to clean up. She instructed us to just kick our dog's poop into the bushes in the back yard rather than pick it up. Yuck! Gross! How much poop was waiting for us or our dog to step in? The back yard was overgrown. The fire pit was not usable. There was un-cared-for furniture next to the fire pit that was not usable. There was no discernible path to any creek that I could see. The inside of the cabin smelled dank and musty and gave us headaches. The curtains, where there were curtains, were not suitable to keep people from peering in. Finally, she told us that she had two aggressive dogs on the property and that we should let her know when we would be taking our dog out so she could put hers inside. We told the host, Susan, that we would not be staying and would expect a refund. She said we would have to call Vrbo for any refund. We contacted Vrbo and Susan agreed to refund all but the first night as long as we did not post a review. We agreed. When we did not get our refund, Vrbo contacted her and she said she is not refunding anything. Don't stay here!

As per guests wife, they decided to stay at the wife’s sisters home in the area for no charge. this bottom feeding scammer skillfully manufactured this review . He did in fact receive a refund.

Rasa was a lovely Guest. My review to Rasa was a five star review. Somehow it processed as a four star. I called vrbo to change it to a five star and unfortunately they couldn’t do it for me and gave me the option of removing the review altogether or leaving the four star.. Rasa is absolutely a five star guest.

Quiet cabin in the woods

I enjoyed my stay at this Rustic Cottage in the woods. The cottage was exactly as advertised. The owner Susan and her daughter Emily were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Having a private fenced backyard for my two dogs was a bonus.

Orchard Road, Wilmington, Delaware Cottage

We had an enjoyable stay at this quaint artsy cottage. Quiet area with a lots of places to walk our dog, met several of the neighbors walking their dogs - nice folks - nice dogs. The cottage was neat and clean, the owner was great. Great location to visit the tourist sites in and around Wilmington. Plenty of places for food nearby. Definitely will return.

Great getaway experience

I've had a great time with my wife and son, the cabin was nice, plenty of hot water, I enjoyed using the fire place during the cold days, and it was very rustic and quiet type backing the Woods with creek, it is a nice joke when the weather is warm. Susan and her daughter Emily were very nice, kind and accomodating, they are always available to help their guest with any needs, while repecting their privacy. I would definitely recommend this cabin. Also, it is close to a nice mall, supermarkets, and shopping areas, so you get that quiet secluded, feel while being able to shop at nearby stores. Thank you susan for everything.

The Cottages on Orchard is one of two 100 year old guest cottages on a natural wooded property each with its own privacy. Owner lives in a small main house on the property.

The property is a designated wildlife habitat and part of the Christina Watershed. The village of Ardentown has over 100 acres of forest. You may see or encounter wildlife while in our home or neighborhood. This includes raccoons or squirrels pitter pattering on the roof, owls hooting, foxes screaming, deer, skunks, mice, spiders, ant season is in April/May and others. These creatures reside in nature and we have no control over them,Ardentown is home to the Candlelight Dinner Theater. The theatre includes an all-inclusive evening of dinner and professional entertainment. Cash bar included.

The Arden Craft Shop Museum focuses on the lives and works of artists, authors, playwrights, artisans and other citizens of the Ardens. It is open on Wednesday and Sunday afternoons. The Cottages on Orchard were built by author Victor Thaddeus.
